I’ve had dinner here on a few occasions. My most recent visit was a bit mediocre. We got a table in the area with the most traffic — right next to the kitchen — even though other, better tables were empty. We only saw the server twice, no one stopped by to check in on us. They were very busy, and it showed. The food was just average; the potatoes were plain, dry and flavourless, the ribs were average and the«seasonal vegetable» was just some under-prepared broccoli. Basically, it was a dinner I could have cooked at home. If you’re in this neighborhood, I’d suggest either going to Earl’s or Joey instead; they both have much more appealing food and much better service.

Great waitstaff. Our steak was overlooked, but it was graciously taken care of. Good food is easy. Good customer service is not. They had great customer service.

The food here is tasty. We had pasta, roasted red pepper soup, Caesar salad and chop salad. We had to ask them to reheat up the soup otherwise it was good. The décor is great. But it’s the service that needs improvement. At first the hostess and manager were able to accommodate us with our table request. But as the night went on the manager’s manners deteriorated. Instead of walking around the table to give us our meals he reached infront and almost hit my friends face. A couple of us were still eating our main course when the manager brought out the dessert menu. Also our water glasses were never refilled.

Well, we were out of luck after getting back from downtown Winnipeg. Polo Park Mall was closed on Saturday at 6PM. Who ever heard of malls closing on Saturday at 6PM? Oh well, food court was on the mall schedule except for this restaurant. We were seated and given menus. I was starving so we quickly ordered 2 different salads. Both of us were going to pick the mango salmon salad with nan. Well, I saw another salad with enamades, avocados, sunflower seeds, cherry tomatoes, and pan-seared salmon. We ended up to agree that I picked the better salad since the mango salad had a quite spicy dressing and salmon too. Mine was subdued and simply dressed with vinegrette. Price was reasonable and definitely the atmosphere was alot more posh than others we have visited.

What can be said about Moxies that hasn’t been said before? Their food quality is reliable. Their staff is friendly and helpful and they often offer menu items that might challenge your palate and give you something to try that is a little different from the norm.

When we come to Winnipeg, a meal at Moxies is always part of our trip. Both my kids and my Wife’s favorite! The chicken enchilada is big enough for two to share. The 3 dip med bread is definitely worth trying.

Okay, right off the bat I’m judging this restaurant on drinks and ambiance. After a full dinner at stuffy Amici’s we wanted to let loose and have some fun. The atmosphere was dark and had lots of modern lighting. The bar was spectacular. The service was okay. Our waitress was as dumb as a bag of hammers and she looked like she just escaped from Transcona. As a joke(and to get rid of my canadian money) we paid her with bills and about $ 40 of coins. The drinks were awesome especially the«Blue Zen». Had about 5 – 6 martinis. Awesome.

i think quite a few ppl who come to this establishment would feel ripped off once they’re done with their meal upon first entering, we were greeted by a couple hostesses who look like expensive hookers. we pass the loud bar area to the«dining» area and were promptly seated. i had the top sirloin cooked medium rare. i received it medium well with the outside burnt like no other. it possibly could break through a window if thrown at one. i had it returned and waited another 15mins for a new one to arrive and that one wasn’t even much better. i decided it was probably better to just leave it at that my lady friend had the mayan salad. that one actually isn’t bad at all overall, if you’re one to enjoy having average looking snooty bitches that look like call girls as staff with improperly cooked food, by all means

My husband’s family had a little reunion at Moxie’s at Polo Park. It was such a disappointment, my husband and I decided to share their sweet potato fries, steak and buffalo wings. The wings were ok, but the steak was terrible. The steak was dry and full of pepper. I don’t think that is anybody’s style. But their sweet potato fries were good too. It wouldn’t be my first choice at all and would not be returning there.

The décor is nice here and our server was really prompt and efficient at her job. It’s a well oiled machine in terms of food service but they really have to work on the hostesses. They’re young and are a bit icy as they tell you to wait even though there are plenty of empty tables, all the while they talk amongst themselves and twirl their hair and look bored. It’s quite amusing and irritating all at the same time. Tried the«avocado spring rolls»($ 9.99), it’s just a veggie spring roll served with that ubiquitous Thai sweet chili sauce that EVERYONE overuses. This wasn’t a very good spring roll especially for that price and you only got about 3 spring rolls. They sliced each roll in half on the diagonal and lay it out so it looks like you’re getting a lot. The sundried tomatoes overpowered avocado so I think they should have called it the«sundried spring roll» cause that’s all I tasted. I wouldn’t order this again. The«veal meatballs stuffed with bocconcini»($ 15.99) is served over spaghetti in a tomato sauce with just a spring of fresh basil. I wish they would chiffonade the basil so it’s more spread out on the dish and it’d be nice if there was more fresh basil. Otherwise, the veal meatballs were really really salty. That’s the issue that I have with Moxie’s, I find that many of the items I’ve had here are very heavily seasoned. I liked the stuffed bocconcini but unfortunately the meatballs were luke warm so the cheese didn’t melt out. The pasta dish overall wasn’t piping hot so that was a bit of a let down. The tomato sauce was pretty basic, just your regular marinara, no real spice or garlicky flavour. I liked the idea of the dish but nothing really worked for me on this dish. Also tried their margaritas since it was Tuesday and they were on for $ 2.99. It was probably served in one of the slimmest glass possible. And they didn’t mix the drink that well so all the alcohol and the mango sank to the bottom and despite my constant stirring, the slush never mixed properly. It’s an okay place to dine at if you’re at the mall and it was just convenient, but I wouldn’t go here specifically for dinner.
