I’ve been here a couple of times. Loved it every single time. However, my last visit was a few weeks ago on a Sunday. Group of 6. I am well aware that the Twisted Apron does not take reservations in advance so we went and waited. The hostess(black hair, sort of edgy) was SO unpleasant and rude. She acted as if she could care less that we were there. We decided to leave and go across the street. I watched her roll her eyes as we left, but I am not the type of person to cause a scene. I understand everyone has bad days at work but if you’re going to greet people at a restaurant, try to be at least friendly and approachable, not miserable. On a lighter note, the food is always fantastic and I have never had an issue with the servers there!

Cute place, great service. Food is fun and interesting but lacks flavour. Would still recommend.

Great service, great food. Best place around and worth the quick drive over the border. Super fresh. Clean and friendly environment. Sylvia was a very happy, kind and helpful waitress. Not too pricey either. If ever in the area again, I’d love to take one of their cooking classes! Don’t miss this restaurant.

The twisted apron participated in walkerville’s halloween trick or treat. We stopped in for some food and drinks on a cold dreary halloween day. The food and service were excellent. I really enjoyed the eggs benedict and cobb salad. The portions are huge. It’s a really nice breakfast, brunch, lunch place. They have a lot of creative breakfast specials. I definitely want to try the quinoa salad and truffle grilled cheese.

This place is everything. I have no regrets about driving from Detroit and paying $ 5 to cross the border. It’s that worth it. Get the French toast and the potatoes. The service is oddly slow but friendly. I’ll be back for sure.

After spontaneously crossing the Ambassador bridge to check out Windsor, both the border crossing agent and the bartender at Walkerville recommended Twisted Apron. So, that’s where we headed for lunch! Arriving between lunch and dinner meant that hardly anybody was in the restaurant, which was perfect. I had their truffled grilled cheese, which was a scrumptious concoction oozing white cheddar, brie, bacon, and french onion jam. My adventure buddy had the twisted burger, which was lean and bursting with great toppings. Both meals were winners.

The Twisted Apron is this kickass brunch restaurant located in Walkerville. The restaurant itself is rather large, despite how it looks on the outside. It’s got a nice hipster modern décor. As soon as you walk in, you’ll notice the bar and waiting area. The dining room is adjacent to it. Menu here is breakfast and lunch with most items available all day. They have chalkboard specials up on the wall and change everyday. I ordered the Breakfast Poutine, which sounded incredible. Replace fries with house potatoes and get it topped off with chicken gravy, scrambled eggs, and bacon. The house potatoes stayed crisp despite the generous helping of gravy. The scrambled eggs were meh, but nice little chunks and strips of bacon made every forkful a nice little bite. It’s also served with toast so you can make a little sandwich if you like, or just have it on the side. The others in my group got a varied list of dishes such as the Chef’s Omelette, which was corned beef and sauerkrat that particular day. The croissant sandwich looked incredible as it was a giant croissant that shimmered from the buttering that had been lathered on. The pancakes were what the gf got and they looked amazing. Served with your choice of meat and a nice little cup of maple syrup. Be careful with arriving too late as this place gets busy fast. Not really ideal for larger groups, they do have a decent amount of tables and turnaround didn’t seem too bad despite the wait for our food. Word of Caution: They do NOT sit you unless your whole group is present, so if you have that one friend who fights his hangover a bit longer in the morning than most, just lie and tell him to be there a half hour earlier.

I came here with a couple of friends. The wait was really long to be seated(my friends said the same thing happened to them last time too) which sucks when you’re hangry! The place was packed though, so obviously people are coming here for the food! The food was excellent, service was good and the prices were cheap. I like that they have daily specials, it just sucks when they run out of the daily specials :( The menu was pretty unique with homemade jams, sauces etc. I ended up having the grilled cheese and chicken soup. Both were tasty.

I have been here about three times with friends for breakfast. I have been disappointed with the cooking of the eggs for their eggs Benedict all of the times. I’m fairly certain the cook is not experienced at poaching eggs perfectly which is a skill a cook at a breakfast restaurant should have more than mastered. The white part is always raw which can make you sick… It looks unappetizing when the white part of egg is uncooked and swimming around on your plate. The white part of the egg should always be cooked and the egg yolk should be runny for proper eggs Benedict. The presentation of food is very nice but if you don’t enjoy it what’s the point. I did one time order the eggs over medium and they still came to the table the same way. Overall I think for a more expensive breakfast place you should be getting a high quality meal made by a cook who knows how to make eggs like a pro. I would rather go elsewhere for Eggs Benedict in Windsor(Paul’s kitchen is amazing, always cooked perfectly).

Was attacked by the hostess/busboy for having an outside drink. Funnily enough the same hippity hipster was the one who seated us fifteen minutes earlier, yet didn’t think to mention it and certainly had zero tact whilst doing it in front of other patrons. Was too hungry and jet-lagged to leave. Hopefully, this fool doesn’t stay employed for very long especially if he’s dealing with customers. Although maybe the owner is just as militant. Who knows. This place has potential, but I’d never return or recommend it based on that d-bag alone. One saving grace was the apologetic waitress who was mortified at his behavior. As for my meal, it was only worthy of 1 star as well. There were egg shells in my poached eggs, the eggs were poached too long and they forgot my side of avocado. Find another eatery in Windsor and forget this trendy/hipster hangout.

My boyfriend and I went to Vito’s one night. We walked in, saw it was packed, walked out then went to The Twisted Apron. I’ve been to the Twisted Apron for dessert, and I’ve always wanted to eat a meal there. I guess it was a good thing Vito’s was packed because I really enjoyed my experience at the Twisted Apron. We both ordered pasta, it was delicious. I want to return for breakfast, just to try it out. Prices were average, it was worth the experience.

Fun variety of food at brunch. Some healthy options. I had Quinoa salad and red bean tomato soup. Good coffee. Nice Eggs Bennie options. Good sandwhich, salad and specials too! Ceasars were good per my friends! Nice interior, clean and a bit cottegy with friendly staff. Located around 10 minutes from downtown. Decent price — worth a visit!

I can’t believe I forgot to write this review– the food was that good! Went for breaky and stayed almost to lunch. Is it okay to have dessert after breakfast? The Quinoa Benny is superb, even if you are not trying to eat vegetarian. The glaciers are well developed and the eggs were poached a mile high. Brian the waiter steered us away from the seafood Benny as it’s still not ready for prime time. I saw a similar item at the Broken Record in San Francisco but he suggested the quinoa. The French toast was a little runny but that may be my personal preference for a crispy FT. I did thoroughly enjoy the coffee and they had proper 18% cream– not corn oil. For dessert we had Peanut Butter Pie in a sealer jar and Queen Elizabeth cake. All yummy. I want to come back for their cooking classes– especially the sushi class.

Gave it yet another try after prior mediocre meal. Huge disapointment. We dined on the new side of the building, my daughter was served a cup of soup with a long hair, the other kids ordered mac and cheese that was sub par noodles and bechamel which they did not eat. My dish was served with stale bread, unedible and left basicly untouched on the table as were several other dishes in our party, just bad. The discription of the cold cut platter was that it was served with preserves, none present just mustard. We also ordered Chicken & waffles which turned out to be luke warm chicken breast served in a sweet waffle ice cream cone, terrible. What really sunk the evening was we sat in the new side that has a open kitchen. The two people cooking wiped sweat away and ran their fingers in their hair all while handeling food, not once did they wash their hands. There were cleaning products left on the food preperation counter. They violated many HACCP rules while cooking on residential equipment, honestly I do not understand how this can be happening. The cross contamination risk is very high here. I was trained in HACCP and have never seen such disregard of food safety We had such high hopes as Walkerville is really coming back to life and needs another great eatery, they have the location, nice décor but bad food and poor service. Won’t be going back,

Did not think I would find such a cute, affordable and delicious restaurant in Windsor! House salad and twisted burger were my favourite and so many other things I would like to try on the menu. Décor was classy yet comfortable and I thought the aprons that the waitresses wore were unique and adorable.

First time to Windsor! Great, unique little place on Wyandotte. And I guess it’s not that little. :) We really enjoyed the menu choices – good veggie options. We had the vegan burger, grilled cheese, and fried tofu. Yummers all around. Even the details such as smoked ketchup & homemade mustard. Very tasty. Friendly waitstaff, too!!! For dessert: Queen Liz Cake. Yes, please. As a side, there is an attached general store with cutesy gift type items. Recommended!

This place rocked. I love brunch places for their unique menu items and food combinations and this place did not disappoint! I immediately spotted an eggs Benedict dish with smoked salmon on top of, get this, a quinoa-dill waffle!!? Oh yeah it was excellent. And I added roasted red pepper to it. Yum. They were good chunky pieces of salmon too. Oh! And another example of unique flavors: I had a creamy pumpkin orzo soup! Yep– pumpkin with a dash of cream and orzo into a savory-sweet soup. So comforting. Then they have dessert cake called Queen Liz cake which consisted of a rich, sweet date cake and coconut on top. Sooo good. Finally I had a chai tea and it was made well. Ambience is nice, casual and comfy. Just the perfect place I wanted to try. Friendly staff. Nothing but good!
