Excellent food. I got hooked since my first visit. I go there for the grilled chicken vermicelli and the Phở.

Foods delicious. I’ve came here twice already. Portions are fair, service is simple. One side of the restaurant is never open, parking is odd.

Passed by after a walk by the river and decided to get take out here instead of cooking. The staff were really nice and polite, however, I find that the food isn’t exactly as described for the pricey charge. I ordered the s9 which is described as «…served with real crab and shrimp. Last time I checked, imitation crab meat isn’t exactly«real crab meat». My bf had the r7. I suppose we did find some bbq pork and shrimp, all 5 tiny pieces of it. Next time I decide to order from here, think I’ll just stick to the phở noodles…

My first and last time! There were no other customers except us 2 girls. Of all the table that were available the waiter decided to seat us next to the washroom. We sat ourselves away from the washroom but had to move to a different table because the table was dirty. We had to ask the waitress to wipe down our table because it was nasty. The cloth used stink of mildew. We wanted to leave but the drinks came so we didn’t. Wished we did though. Our appetizer came, 2 grilled chicken summer rolls but they did not provide plates, utensils & napkins. We had to ask. C’mon! The beef noodle soup was the worst I ever had, it was full of beef fat, did not have the aroma of the anise star or any type of spice a beef noodle phở usually has. Wasn’t a good dining experience. Go somewhere else.

Great range of dining options, but of course the Phở is fantastic! Can’t wait to go back and try out some of the other options, but this is exactly what I needed the next morning after a night out on the town in Windsor ;)

Cheapest Phở in Windsor by far(7.95 for large) without sacrificing quality. My family and friends also really enjoy this place because the broth for the soup is not really oily. Service is very fast and the restaurant sits a lot of people.

I want to try a different phở spot, coming from Mi– there’s tons. But want my family to see how Windsor was. Glad I came here, the place is clean and waitress was nice. The food was great, portion size was huge for the price. The phở broth was different but overall experience and food was good.

This was a really pleasant experience; the decoration and ambiance of the place made me feel extremely comfortable, even when I was hanging with myself. They have several tv’s, free internet, 10% off for students who show ID, cheap beer, and good food. The phở was really tasty, the meat was tender, and the broth… The broth had the perfect balance.

Consistently good. Always great food and a nice selection. Nicely renovated with lots of room. Clean eating space and clean washrooms. Free parking in back! Great for a down town restaurant. if it was closer to where I live, I’d be in trouble!

I ordered the P10 and found it to be amazing! The broth was very flavourful and they had a nice homemade chili sauce/oil with lemongrass; I added a bit to soup and it was perfect! I’d love to go again. Nice atmosphere inside. Each table had a call button for service and there is parking in the back.

I’m pretty comfortable here now. I get my usual P6, phở with grilled chicken(varies from small, regular, or large depending on how hungry I am) with about 5 hot peppers on the side and sometimes an order of A2 pork and shrimp spring rolls. If you want to eat by yourself, I’d come here. There’s free wifi plus a 10% student discount. Oh, I also tried a banh xeo for the first time and it wasn’t what I was expected. I’m sure everyone assume it’s an omelette but it’s the tumeric powder that makes it yellow. It was okay but I know a lot of people love it. I also had Vietnamese iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk. It was good. I also had their chicken pad thai and although it wasn’t bad I’d stick with the phở since it’s their staple food.

Live in Detroit and no Vietnamese restaurant compares to Maxim. This will be my default spot for my Viet food fix. I would cross the border just to come eat here. Had a regular Phở, P1 and a Vietnamese milk coffee. Great for an early lunch/late breakfast! Also, try their jackfruit milkshake. Restaurant is newly renovated, modern and clean. Waitresses here are very pretty ;)

Lately I’m in the mood for Vietnamese food, honestly is the 3rd time this week I have Vietnamese food. I figure since I’m out if town I would explore the area and OMG!!! Great find, tasty food, clean environment excellent prices. I’m so satisfied and now I have to go back to my place. This place is huge, great for families, kids and groups. Highly recommend.

Excellent Vietnamese food! Fresh ingredients, friendly service, reasonable prices — what else could one ask for?

Overall = Very disappointing experience. Recommend coming back? = No. First, the restaurant is at an inconvenient location with no parking — and even if they provided parking, there’s no clear signage on where to park… so we were scrambling for minutes on where to park without having to pay. Unfortunately, out of the couple well-established phở restaurants in Windsor, this is probably now the worst one. Food selection was decent — no problems with that. Offered items not available at other Vietnamese restaurants Their prices are very expensive and for what I ordered, it was NOT worth the extra cost. Ordered Vietnamese coffee(café sua nong) = too watery and not creamy like it should be. Phở portions are minuscule. It’s unfortunate that I am being so critical about a new restaurant but a lot of things need major improvement. As I enter the restaurant, Cleanliness is very good, but just because the interior is nice doesn’t mean the food is great. We were waiting to be seated at the door but it took 5 – 10 minutes for someone to seat us when there were people sitting maybe 4 – 5 single tables(relative to restaurant size, it was fairly empty). It was really frustrating. For years I’ve been complaining that Phở Xic Lo was poor in customer service, but what I experienced today at Phở Maxim was far worse. The waitress/server even wrote down the wrong orders for us, but we didn’t say anything or argued back when the food was delivered(and I could of) because we didn’t want to start a commotion about it. One of us ordered Vermicelli but got Phở instead(I’m not sure how that happened or what the server was thinking at the time when taking our orders). We also had to remind our server to bring us chopsticks/utensils multiple times. Productivity and efficiency levels at the restaurant is poor as if teens are running the place. Don’t be fooled by the nice interior with the customer service. Luckily we all liked Phở. Also, the server we got was clearly not attentive and slow. We were waiting for someone to take our orders as efficient as we wanted but instead we saw and starred at them and other staff members hovering at the back talking to each other about their personal plans of the week? We were clearly starring at them for their attention. Shame. Last time I checked this wasn’t a self-serve restaurant. They’re lucky we didn’t walk out. I’m not sure how the hiring process went when selecting their staff members and not knowing(at least understanding/speaking conversely) Vietnamese is questionable about their authenticity. Slow amateur service, not confident on what they’re doing. Maybe I’m being too harsh but in order to take orders the Vietnamese way you gotta be quick and ready to write it down asap. Being attentive and punctual is critical. Sorry Phở Maxim, you didn’t fool me. $ 9.50 for a «large» bowl of phở and $ 10.50 for their Dac Biet special with little noodles given is mind-blowing. I can’t really see much differentiation of the restaurant than other Phở restaurants in Windsor that’s even worth the price. I can’t say what target customers they’re aiming for when the owner(s) planned in opening this restaurant but I recommend taking your business + money elsewhere. If you prefer having a nice dining experience over great quality + quantity of food, who am I to tell you where to eat? I’m also surprised that because this restaurant is literally in core downtown Windsor that they don’t open late nights or even 24 hours, good for business on weekends for drunk people. The only reason it’s a 2-star and not a 1 is because of the taste of the food. This is being reviewed by a Vietnamese person, so I know what to expect and what people should be getting with their food. I really do wish the owner(s) luck on the restaurant’s future growth and survival because they’ll need it. The next time someone taking our orders writes down the wrong stuff, don’t be surprised if I raise my voice at the person bringing out the food. A paying customer should get what they want. I really regret not confronting the first time. But that won’t happen because I won’t be going back.
