Went here for lunch on my own as our work office moved just around the corner. I was seated right away and given the standard tea. Everything I ordered was delicious and the service was prompt. The prices were what I would pay anywhere else. What I remember the most is how crispy and light the tempura was. I will be back. Just need to get the rest of the office to come with me.

not sure why the reviews are so negative. people here are just brats. anyway, I eat a lot of sushi and I tend to go here the most. it’s never busy(a shame really), and the staff are great and not a bit pretentious like some of the other«finer» sushi places around here. I’ve only had excellent tuna, never icy or cold, and the chef usually throws some bonus tuna on top! give it a try, I truly believe it’s better than snooty kuroishi.

While in the neighborhood, we passed a couple other sushi restaurants that looked busy, but upon arrival at Shin Ji Ru, discovered that this location was nearly empty. I hoped it wasn’t a bad sign, particularly because of the only previous review. Went here with two others and shared a few different things(gomae, tuna and salmon rolls/nigiri/sashimi, negitoro roll, alaska roll, caterpillar roll). The rolls were all great. I liked the caterpillar roll; it was the best I had tasted yet. What disappointed me, however, were the tuna and salmon nigiri and sashimi. The portions were reasonable, but they were stringy/bony! I had to pick at least 3 – 4 long cartilage-like strings from the fish. I had never encountered this before and I wasn’t impressed. The bill was reasonable and the service was unobtrusive but efficient. I would come again, but order mostly rolls next time.

First the name is just wrong. But that has nothing to do with the food. I suppose it was just an ominous sign. The food here is horrible. I got a nabeyaki udon(over $ 10 for this piece of crap — noodles with broth and some odd and ends throw-ins). HORRIBLE. I was beside myself. I got a dynamite roll which barely had a smudge of avocado in it(I know not an avo roll, but still). The décor shouts that the place is struggling and needs to close. But I walked out of there with bill that came to $ 16. So I guess there are suckers out there that keep this place in biz. I will NOTRETURN.
