Cakes from this place are incredibly delicious, in the past we always went there for this reason. We stopped going there because the service is slow and unfriendly. The people working here are more concerned with standing around chatting and using loud inappropriate humor. Was really put off and probably won’t go back.

Would it hurt for the Hillcrest ladies behind the counter to crack a smile :(. And/​or acknowledge their customers???
I thought it as just a one-​off. But I went there 4⁄5 times again and the same unfriendly service. My partner encountered the same bad experience too!
We took our bakery business to another local shop that smiles and asks if we need service (not just stand there without saying a word which is unfortunate).

My family routinely drives from Seattle, Washington to eat at Hillcrest Bakery. Love the food and the staff is incredibly friendly.
I wish it was closer to home, but worth the drive!

About a year ago I ate one of their cakes at a party. It was so good that I asked the host where she got it from. Fast forward to the summer, when there was a groupon for half off a cake. I snapped it up asap in preparation for the holiday season — I knew I wanted my cake coming from here!
Fast forward to December… I ordered my cake over the phone. It was easy, fast, and painless. A week later I arrived at the bakery to pick up my cake. It was LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!!! I ordered the Italian Torte Cake, which has puff pastry, custard, white cake, and loads of whipped cream. The puff pastry adds a nice savoury dimension to the cake.
The 8″ cake was too big for me, so I froze about half of it and have been hacking off pieces of it ever since. Want to know something? A piece of frozen cake, microwaved for about 25 seconds, is delicious! In fact, I’m eating my last piece right now :)
I would definitely return for another cake!
