The Adventure Group Whistler

Great fun on the ATVs… Polaris RZR 2 hr tour. We just wished we had signed up for the longer tour! Bumps, hills, mud, vertical drops, and more. Follow the safety rules and the guide will lead the way and pretty much leave you alone. Be ready to get dirty and enjoy the outdoors!

We went white water rafting today and it was such an amazing experience!!! The staff was amazing and really made it fun. Our guides were super friendly and very personable. They provided everything including wetsuits and shoes. Whistler is such a beautiful place and being out there on the water was indescribable with the mountains all around. We couldn’t stop smiling the whole time. I can not wait to do this again!

Took the 2 hour snowshoeing tour with Michele. The route was not decided until we got there and we ended up about ½ way on Blackcomb mountain.
You check in at the office and walk over to another space to get the gear. Snowshoes, boots, poles, and they also have gloves, goggles, and pants if you need them. Not regular pants, you should really be wearing these already. I mean ski pants. Ok? Ok.
Then you walk over to the gondola and ride two stops. From there we donned the snowshoes and went hiking into 2 big loops through the woods. There is a lot of up and down and you get an ok work out. Towards the end we stopped and the guide gave us hot chocolate and granola bars.
Michele was very nice and extremely outgoing. She talked a lot and there was never a time where we could just enjoy the amazing quiet snowfall. Good thing that I was at the end of the tour and I could not hear what she was saying anyway. :/​
One other suggestion, check travelzoo. After the tour we off course find a 50% off coupon. Grr. Hate it when that happens, don’t you?

This was my first Ziplining trip and it was awesome. We purchased through the Adventure group office. The entire process was simple. Our two guides Robin and Scotty were awesome, laughing and joking the entire way. They made us all feel safe and secure. Will definitely be going again in the summer time. And highly recommend to other to go.

First off, I have to say that The Adventure Group experience was overall amazing! I purchased a groupon priar to visiting for the 8 hour rafting tour. During our stay there was a fire on the river and they weren’t able to do the river tour. They gave me a call before hand letting me know what was happening. My boyfriend and I went down to their office and spoke with Shunya and he was quite accommodating. He made sure that we would be refunded our groupon, or we could use it to another activity and would give us the same discount as we were getting for groupon. We ended up deciding to do the Ziplining and Razor Tour.
On the Ziplining Tour, my boyfriend and I were lucky enough to be the first ones of the day and get our own private tour (because no one else signed up for that time). Ginny & Tui were our tour guides and were AWESOME! They were both very experienced and fun tour guides. The very first zip line was intimidating but Ginny & Tui made it seem like a piece of cake.
Overall, I loved the ziplining and the tour guides and would do it all over again! Shaka Brah :)
On the Razor tour, we lucked out again and someone canceled and we got our own private tour AGAIN! Julie was our tour guide and she took us to a couple of different spots/​look outs. Unfortunately it was so smoky that it was hard to see, but Julie explained a lot of the history/​background to make it very interesting. We came back and had lunch and were able to get a good shot of us in front of the razor to remember our adventure.
Overall, I would DEFINITELY recommend The Adventure Group, from start to finish, they were amazing. I would use them again in the future, when staying in Whistler.

Went on a company retreat in Whistler and we chose to do the RZR tour with TAG. No complaints here, the staff and the excursion were both a 5 out of 5 in our books. RZR’s are a thrill and the TAG team makes you feel safe while also giving you the freedom to exercise your inner speed demon. Lunch was also good, the panini was a great choice.

Going into this adventure, I was scared out of my mind. I had never been Ziplining, and was pretty nervous the whole ride up the mountain. With that said, our tour guides helped make this trip so much FUN… I can’t believe I actually loved the zip!
For Ziplining, our guides were Rose and… Trevor? I forget his name to be honest, but they were pretty fun! She was from Ireland and he was from Australia.
The only negative I can say about the tour is that I got some serious whiplash from the braking system on Godzilla (the third line down). Im still sore from it, and its been 5 days.
The next morning we went on an ATV excursion with Jedd. He was fun, attentive and I could tell he knew the mountain like the back of his hand. I felt safe with him as my guide.
We had a great time!

Marco was our guide for an ATV tour. He was friendly and took good care of us. They have gear you can borrow to ward off the dust. The scenery is beautiful. The only gotcha is the mandatory insurance for their atvs … This really should be loaded into the price.

Highly recommend. John was our guide for the ATV tour and was awesome. He spent some extra time taking us into the wilderness. Life is extremely still and quiet as you travel through various spots. Don’t miss this trip. We took the first one on that day, was still a bit cold and less dusty.

My friends and I, we did snowmobile and zip line. It’s so much fun and so pretty around there especially the trees covered by snow. Our tour guides was patiently with us since we are beginner. They explain everything clear and make sure we are comfortable. I cant wait to go back there in summer to do ATV.
Snowmobile — Wear snow pant, jacket and gloves if u have it. Or else you would be cold and wet. They provide shoe, helmet, goggles and gloves (mostly small sizes)
Zip line in Winter — Wear jacket and pant to keep yourself warm. Bring own gloves and shoe that could walk in snow. Dont forget CAMERA! You could wear your own sunglasses. They provide helmet and goggle. There are 4 lines. 1^st one is High and long, 2^nd one is Longest. 3^rd is short and fast and 4^th one is short and faster.

We had a great experience doing a wintertime package including two hour snowmobiling tour and zip line. The zip line experience by itself was definitely five stars: our guides, Crystal and Ben, were super nice and fun, but extremely professional and safety-​minded. With four separate zip lines, there is excellent variety — height, length, and speed. If you’re going with a friend/​partner, be sure to hold hands on the last zip line, as you can «sling shot» each other down the line.
The snowmobiling gets four stars by itself, as it was good but not exceptional — I’ve done snowmobiling in Colorado multiple times, and perhaps it was a result of the poor snowfall and/​or the limitations of their property, but we weren’t able to get going super fast (nothing above about 40k) and there were no large open spots. So with that in mind, I think the snowmobiling may be expensive for what you get but is still a great option, especially for first time riders. Our guide was very friendly and paid careful attention the whole time to ensure riders in the back were safe, etc.

I highly recommend these guys! My husband and I went up to Whistler for our anniversary. We were looking for something adventurous to do. WE decided to go ATVing and we went all around Whistler Village scoping the packages.
These guys came recommended and were THE BEST priced package. We did the beginner course and shared an ATV, switching off turns of driving. We had a whole lot of fun! my husband was worried because it was a group and thought it would be a «put put put, look over here, put put, look over there…»
Our group was 6 people total and our guide was an Aussie named Judd. Judd was super fun guy and the course was SO EXCITING! I was actually a little scared at times but Judd kept checking on us and made sure we felt comfortable. It made for an AWESOME first anniversary and we have some amazing pictures from our adventure!

On our first night in Whistler, we had reservations for the sleigh ride. Checking in was easy peasy. There was a shuttle that picked us up and brought us to the Fairmont where there were horses and sleighs waiting! The horses were characters and our tour lead was super talkative and friendly. We were greeted right away and there was complimentary hot apple cider and hot chocolate. They allowed time to take pictures before and after ride. The ride lasted about 30 minutes and it was cold, but magical! There was so much fresh snow and flocked trees. It was one romantic ride. Just picture perfect.

If I were just reviewing the zip lines it would be a 5 star rating all the way. They were fun, exhilarating, and totally 100% safe. So why only three stars… the disorganized nature of some things and one staff member who in my book was pretty rude, obnoxious and way too immature to be managing a group of people.
Let’s deal with the disorganization first. Many folks knew we were supposed to meet across from the Carlton Hotel, but unlike other tours there was no signage out front and no one directing us to the tour we were signed up for. I was looking for «Zoom Tours», not their corporate name, «Outdoor Adventures». The next ping of disorganization was when we got off the bus and a woman pointed in a direction and said «Zoom and other (I forget the name) tour stand over there». So we did. Then all the sudden a woman started talking to a group that I wasn’t a part of. Luckily I caught the tale end, and asked her «is this where the Zoom tour is supposed to stand?» she answered yes, and then we moved to the next to do. Why she couldn’t have been clearer the first time I don’t know. Please note, I was not the only one who made the mistake of standing with the wrong group or having difficulty finding this place. The last thing that happened was the ride home. We all took off our gear, got our things out of the lockers, looked at the photos (which were a little pricey), and I saw a van waiting. I wanted to head back, so I asked the driver «hey are you heading back or did you just drop off a group, I don’t know how this works.» She answered, «nope, get in I have to leave in like 30 seconds.» People who were waiting behind me began loading on the bus as soon as I got on, clearly… they didn’t know the rules either. She proceeds to get on her walkie-​talkie (sp?) and says, «I gotta go, I can’t wait any longer». Mind you, up to this point there had been zero communication about when or how we got down the mountain. So her attitude is likely fueled by others disorganization. As she almost headed down the mountain two people from our group shouted, «We have to more from our group!» She luckily stopped, and they loaded on. It was all very disorganized. And, make me think… where are the adults in this situation?
This leads me to the staff member who was rude and let’s just say, in need of a lot of attention. The day began with him telling me I was «killing it» when I was trying to figure out how to put on my pack, which was a little confusing… but mind you I would have gotten it if he would have given me a spare 5 seconds to put it on. This was followed by…
— Him telling us that our safety was in his hands then laughing about it. I corrected him and said; nope our safety is in the equipments hands. He didn’t agree.
— Him making fun of one of the youngest riders (who could not have been more than 9) not making it over and saying, «you’re gonna make it over this time… RIGHT?»
— Him making fun of different things on the trek being named after the adventure’s brand name — «Zoom»
— Him scolding someone for standing at a certain location to take a picture of one of his friends then posing for a picture and saying, «take a picture of this».
— Him stopping midway through his instruction and saying «no one is listening to me» and zip lining to the other side… mistaking that someone in our group was actually translating everything that he was saying in Spanish to his son and daughter and they were asking questions back. Mind you, this was the third zip line so he should have known this was happening at each one.
— And, if anyone is reading this… his name is Evan. He needs some serious training or just flat out is WAY too immature to be doing this kind of thing.
All in all, go on this if you want adventure, but Outdoor Adventure, please talk to your staff… they are in some serious need of training.

This winter season, my two friends and boyfriend tried out snowshoeing for the first time. We booked the Natural Mystic snowshowing tour for newbs, like us!
The Outdoor Adventure headquarter is in close proximity to the Whistler Gondola, which was easy to find. We set off on foot to the gondola and from there we were geared with rain-​proof boots and our snowshoes. Afterwards, our tour guide took us into the perfectly snow blanketed forest and snowshoed through shoveled trails that led us to breath-​taking and post-​card worthy sights. Throughout the tour, our guide gave us wonderful information about the history of Whistler and its forests. We had a ton of fun with the Witch’s hair and Old man’s beard (making ourselves some mustaches)! Our tour guide was amazing and funny.
We also tried the Zoom Zip-​line tours. (A Groupon helped shave the $ 1xx) We went up to Cougar mountain and zipped across two mountain valleys, full of gorgeous snow-​covered terrain. Our harness was different than my previous zip-​lining experiences — you sit in a type of hammock/​seat compared to just a harness. It was comfy and didn’t give you a wedgy, but I like the harness zip-​lining from Ecotrek tours, because it feels more free, you can flip upside-​down and the zip-​lines are faster and longer. However, I still had a great time. And of course, our guides were wonderful… I don’t think I’ve ever come to Whistler and met a terrible guide
In the end, we shared some fabulous winter memories here!

ABSOULUTELY… LOVE THEM!!! took a tour with them we did the 2 hour ride on the ATV’s and had a blast. The group was total of 13 so they split us with 6 – 7 which I thought was great had 2 tour guides and makes it more better. You go to the top of the mountain and make 3 – 4 stops to take picturs rest and intake all the beauty of this place and even see wildlife possibly. We actually saw a Black Bear big Male eating on one of the slops I swear no further than 300 feet away AMAZING!!! The actual guide was freaking saying he never saw one that close and was rushing us through the area for safety reasons. They start you off in a get comfotable with your atv area practice turns and safety before you actually venture out upthe mountain. Super fun excursion I recommend any one do wether experienced or not.

Below is a recount of my experience with this company.
All 11 of us were inexperienced, but the guides were very attentive and encouraging to those of us who were more nervous. As with Wedge Rafting, the guides were very safety oriented, while extremely fun.
Apparently, an ATV goes over an embankment/​cliff or has an accident every couple of days! Not due to negligence on the company’s part, but just because! The guides were very «by the book» in terms of rescue/​medical procedure, and when one of our companions fell off an edge and lost her ATV (10 minutes into our tour!), they knew exactly how to react and take care of the situation calmly, without frightening the rest of us.
It’s relieving to know that the reason why you pay a lot for these kind of tours, is because the insurance totally covers accidents like this.
The guides go through the instruction on how to operate the ATVs, pretty quickly and I felt very overwhelmed during the spiel, but our guides personally stopped to talk to us individually as often as we needed, to make sure we felt confident. I really appreciated that the guides seemed to be able to tell how nervous someone might be, simply by how they’re driving.
Our guide stopped to reassure one of our companions, and give driving tips quite often in the beginning and by the end we were all feeling pretty confident. 2 minutes in, and I personally felt like a pro!
We also got to have a little deli lunch in a yert next to a lake half way through the ride!
And once we were all more confident, I did notice that our guide took us about a little faster. «We go as fast as our least confident rider».
Unfortunately, regardless of my experience with this company, the memories have irrevocably been marred by the tragic news of Outdoor Adventure’s conduct with regards to the 100 dogs controversy.
It is because of this, that I give Outdoor Adventures the above noted rating.
I would very well have been a repeat customer, on my next trip to Whistler, but undoubtedly, this news has ensured I will no longer support this company.

We enjoyed a snowmobile tour with Outdoor Adventures last year on a day off from skiing. The equipment was all new (er) and the staff was professional. We took a 2 hour tour that included a lot of time on a big frozen lake, running high speed laps. A few of us got up over 100kph, which is plenty fast for some inexperienced sled riders.
The trail system that Outdoor Adventures uses wasn’t quite as fun as the tour we used this year — Blackcomb Snowmobiles. Not that it was bad, but the views and terrain from Blackcomb were simply better.
I’d recommend Outdoor Adventures if Blackcomb was full up, and its certainly not a bad group to go with if they have a tour that sounds interesting to you. Either way, snowmobiling is a great way to spend a day off from skiing or boarding.

My personal moment of glory at Whistler was flying down the ziplines. But, by far our family’s highlight was the ATV tour. We chose the Alpine Sunrise tour which left at a very early 8:20a, but it was worth rising early. They have different types of tours (ATV, Hummer, Canoe, Snowmobile, etc.) throughout the day and evening as well, but most of the others were booked up well in advance.
If you are taking young kids, go to their office ahead of time to make sure they can ride. My little guy (6) barely made the cut-​off. Parents drive and kids sit behind. At first I was worried about the little guys hanging on, but there is a curved seat so they are pretty secure back there. We went with another family and guide. One of their teenagers got to drive and the younger one was a passenger (I think you have to be 16 or 18 before they let you drive your own ATV).
The tour was awesome. They take you up to a hut part way up the mountain and get you outfitted in tons of protective gear. You can see why if you look at my photo, since part of the ride had us splashing through HUGE puddles.
We stopped several places during the tour for photo ops — the top of Blackcomb, by a waterfall and when we spotted bears on the mountain. The only problem with the tour was the relentless begging for ATVs by the kids when we returned home.
