The service was good but I almost choked looking at the menu prices with very few dishes under $ 20. We were about to leave but asked for the lunch menu which had items at a reasonable price. But be careful. If you want tea(we asked for the house tea), you’ll pay $ 7. The soup was terrible. The Pad Thai and Red Curry were fine. Warning: If you don’t like hot, make sure you tell them mild.

We found this place on a Groupon site, when we got there and told the owner that we have a reservation with coupons. All of a sudden, she gave us a not welcome look. However, the Japanese servicer was really nice. The food there was not that great either and totally over priced. She tried to push us to order more stuff, she asked what do we want to drink, we said water for now. But not long after when we even didnt have time to look at the drink menu and of course haven’t got any water yet she asked again. So we had to order something right away by her pressure. And they will add 15−20% tip automatically on your bill after we got the rudeness from the owner and the bad food. I wouldn’t call it a Thai restaurant, it’s just a Chinese restaurant that has some Thai ish dishes. Not going back for sure and highly not recommended.

Horrible Experience… First of all, the lady on the phone takes about 10 mins to take your order. Then its not even right It took 90 minutes to get our food after the delivery girl(sweet) got the wrong address because it wasn’t written Fine, understandable THEN we go inside and there is no steamed rice with our food… Fine. Then, as a strict vegetarian and having voiced that fact about 8 times on the phone i open up my curry and there is straight up beef staring in my face And the noodles on the side sucked Avoid this place like the plague.

One of the nicer restaurants along this stretch, I’ve always thought there’d be nicer ones but I digress. Definitely the only one with a patio that serves alcohol, guess I’ll have to wait til the summer lol. Came in for another business lunch, and for the white-table cloth linen, it sure does impress here. Friendly staff walked us to the corner table on the left, seems like they have some music entertainment. Quite a spacious restaurant, well decorated as per pics. Instead of the usual Thai curries, ordered the ginger pork, a higher-calibre meat but what was even better than the sauce were the fresh veggies, generous portions. Great service, constant topping up the water and the hot water for the green tea. Actually liked how the hostess/owner came by. Free parking in front. Date material, yes.

Never order from here. Completely screw up my take out order. Call and they say will give me a credit next time. Call next time and they ‘lost’ any reference to my credit. Why would i ever order from you again. Terrible customer service and no attempt to correct order just kept saying we will give you discount next time. Rude on phone and could care less once they take your money about their screw ups. AWFUL!

The woman who was working is very nice. She helped with directions and wi-fi. Order the number 25 on lunch menu. Price good, taste even better.

I was on a road trip with friends from my expat days in Asia and stumbled upon Rose Thai. We’re usually not fans of Thai food outside of Thailand, but we didn’t want strip mall food and Rose Thai looked more appealing than our other options. Boy were we glad we stopped by. I always test a Thai restaurant by ordering the tom kha gai. It’s a soup every Thai restaurant has on their menu, but rarely gets right, usually adding too much coconut milk and too little spice. We weren’t given the«adjusted for westerner tastes» version and this alone made me glad we stopped by. Same with the green curry, one of the closest to the real thing that we’ve had. My friend ordered the tod mun goong, which are fried shrimp cakes dipped in sweet chilli sauce. I’ve never had them before, but now I’m hooked. The real standout was the curry crab. We knew the crab was good in Vancouver and had been craving seafood since we got sushi earlier in our stay. A little messy to eat(which is why I didn’t get a picture), but we were given plastic gloves to keep our hands from getting too messy. So good, I could have one all to myself. Overall I was surprised to find actually good Thai food while on our road trip. We chatted with our server and it turns out the owner fell in love with Thai food and specifically trained for years under Thai chefs before opening his restaurant. What a difference from most Thai places that rely on being Thai as their claim for being authentic rather than actually making good food. I’ll stop by for sure the next time I make it up to Vancouver!

We had an uninspiring meal here recently. There is something very strange about the food. It’s definitely not Thai. It had too many odd, non-Thai tastes. There was a catsup aftertaste to both dishes. Chinese, maybe? The prawns were chewy and a bit old tasting, as though they’d been in the freezer for too long. The service was friendly and good, but the food was off-putting and we won’t be returning.

To be honest, This restaurant is a place I wouldnt go back. The food was excellent but the server wasnt listening to us very much and offering a wrong food… light was too dim and cold inside(I had to wear my jacket entire time). also, it was hard to find a washroom. I shared tea with my friend and they charged us for a shared cup. We paid for it but they should have let us known in advance. the food was great but a bit pricy when it comes to a poor service.

With all honesty, my wife and I have concluded that tonight we have had the absolutely worst Thai food that we have ever experienced in our lives. It’s that simple. We ordered a vegetarian yellow curry, and a green curry with prawns. Both tasted so awful that we actually barely could eat either. The vegetables tasted very far from fresh, and the prawns were hard and chewy, like rubber. The curry sauce itself seemed to have come straight out of a can. Another detail. We ordered coconut rice, one of our favorite things to order at Thai restaurants. For those who may not know, coconut rice is rice cooked in coconut milk as opposed to water. Well, Rose Thai decided to give us a bowl of regular white rice(cooked in water) with some coconut milk poured on top. Seriously? My wife and I looked at each other and smiled. We thought we were being the target of some funny prank. To top it all, the service was quite slow, the hostess was edgy and rude, and the place seemed to have a poor standard of cleanliness. We ended up paying $ 50, and heading over to Whole Foods to actually have some edible dinner after all. This place needs to either 1) Improve SEVERELY along many dimensions, or 2) Close In the meantime, please avoid this place for your own good.

This is not THAIFOOD! It’s Chinese food, Shouldn’t call a Thai resturant, guest service are not that good and not understand the menu well, give me differant food that I didn’t order, anyway I don’t want to make her feel bad, I just eat it anyway, but second dish that I order, didn’t the same as I request and I try to be nice and except the food but I can’t even eat it, test not good at all. Not reccommend it.

Reasonably priced flavorful dishes. A bit heavy on filler like onions and spinach.

Our experience was good here. The décor is a warm and romantic setting, and Rose is quirky and welcoming. We chatted for a while and she told us of the restaurant’s interesting history. When they took over the place they redesigned it with warm wood detailing that was a vast departure from it’s previous look. It had originally been Italian food, with an enormous pizza oven so large a wall had to be torn down to remove it! then it was a Greek place that had an unfortunate reputation, and they never bothered to remove the oven, which was not even used! It was a slow night so we were a captive audience and thus we were engaged. The menu is Thai food but the owners are from Shanghai, so there is a cross over in the dishes. The big guy had his usual, Panang Beef curry and found it to be just right. They give you the option of how spicy you want the food and Rose was very specific about it, which we appreciated. We ordered a flowering Tea and from experience I knew what to expect. The tea is presented in a clear glass kettle, over a candle votive. It opens up gradually and the flavour evolves with the different stages, until, alas, it becomes bitter. It’s lovely but not your average cup of tea. This is an 8 dollar ritual… –eek. Over all I would say that in quality of service, dishes and price, that this place is worth a try.
