BJ’s Fashions

Horrible service. Weird old-​lady stock but I was desperate for a couple of jackets so I stopped in. When I picked up a jacket and headed to the change room to look in a mirror, I was approached by a sales woman who did not greet me or offer assistance. Instead, she told me they were getting ready to close. I explained I shop quickly and needed some jackets. She replied they close in 5 minutes (it was 5:16 pm) and flounced away. The snotty attitude dripping off her was shocking. But it worked out fine. The lovely woman down the block was thrilled to take my money.

My friend purchased two pairs of french Arche shoes at BJ’s Fashions in Dundarave, West Vancouver, for a total of over $ 400. One of the pairs was discovered to be faulty only days after she purchased them. The heel seam on one of the shoes was off-​centre and caused a very bad blister on my friend’s heel. Worse, after wearing the shoes only THREE times, the soles of both heels started to separate from the shoes, and the buttons’ anodized surfaces were scratched and looked horrible. My friend telephoned BJ’s immediately and complained and inquired as to whether BJ’s would exchange the faulty shoes for another pair. BJ’s refused to do anything about it, citing the «FINAL SALE» stamp on the receipt. As a result, I am boycotting BJ’s.
My mother, a sophisticated, intelligent, and thoughtful woman, boycotted BJ’s after the saleswomen and owner were arrogant, rude, and condescending towards her around 15 years ago, but my friend wanted to look at the Arche shoes on display. If you experience any kind of bad attitude from the staff there, you can take it as a clear warning sign that they can be heartlessly and unethically ruthless!

I really wanted to like this place as I noticed that they carried some dress pants. The store is very high end and I was very well aware when I walked in that I was out of my league, however, wish that I didn’t feel so much out of my league. Body language and customer service was very snotty. She acted like I wasted her time even though I was price shopping and looking into a much needed new pair of dress pants since I dropped .5 a size. They didn’t have a lot but they had some selected styles which were enough.

BJ’s sells lovely clothes in a wide price range. Their sales are wonderful, a great time to stock up Unfortunately, I don’t find the staff all that friendly or helpful, and sometimes they’re downright snobby. I always have the nagging suspicion that I’m being judged and found wanting, which is not the best way to treat customers. For that reason, I’m only giving the store three stars. These people could take a lesson from the sales staff at Marilyn’s in Caulfeild, where every customer is treated like gold.

I had the worst experience at the BJS Fashion Store on tenth avenue. I purchased a blouse yesterday but when i got it home decided i didn’t like it so returned it today (tag intact). After i left the store the sales clerk came running out after me saying to please come back in the store. I had no idea why but it turned out there was a small stain on the blouse. The sales clerk actually accused me of wearing the blouse and that the stain was from red wine!!! All said to me in front of other customers. I have been a long standing client at this store and I have never been so shocked and insulted in my life!!! She was rude, accusatory and the most unprofessional clerk i have ever come across. I have no idea where that stain came from and most likely was on there when i purchased it. I also have over 100 witnesses that i saw the night before NOT WEARING THE BLOUSE!!! I know many people in the retail fashion industry and they were shocked to hear my story as well. I will never step in that store again and i have recommend my family and friends to do the same PG

Great selection of original fashions, well organized displays and helpful staff. Lots of European labels here. I love their sale events. When I shop in this store, it feels the way retail used to be. Nicely displayed merchandise (no messy racks) and… service! Well done BJ’s!

BJ’s seems like a clothing store for eccentric older women. But even if you are younger than 50, you might just find some cool accessories. They’ve got some cute shoes and boots in the back past all the gaudy sweaters.
