Hoffaco left our house with three broken windows (which were smashed by the previous tenants) for four months despite constant calls, emails and written letters. Hoffaco’s stance was that they didn’t need to fix them. Only have we called in a city bylaw enforcement officer did they do anything.
The entire company only has 2 full time staff members (as of 2014), and when you ask them to get something done they tell you that, as its not their fault that they choose to run their business that way.
After we settled with the landlord out of court I wrote this guide to resolving housing disputes in the KW region:
