Nice and relaxing setting, friendly staff and owner. food was ok. grilled chicken sandwich with salad was good, melon cake was a bit dry and shortbread a bit floury.

Great farm house atmosphere with delicious food all made with in-house prepared ingredients(even the sauces). Very scenic overlooking the marina. Child friendly for lunch with room for them to explore in the yard while waiting for food to arrive.

Such a lovely treat! My sweetie and I were looking for a place to have a snack on our Metchosin drive from Victoria, and were so excited to learn this lovely restaurant opened up just three weeks before! We showed up just before closing(at 4pm), but were welcomed in for tea. The rebuilt farmhouse provides lots of seating, and a large covered deck with a view of the farm, Pedder Bay, and the ocean. We enjoyed home made iced tea, shortbread with whipped cream and Metchosin strawberries, and a scone with jam and clotted cream(they make an old style of scone that’s cooked on the grill, light and fluffy!) It’s a nice, casual, country alternative to a stuffy Victoria afternoon tea. We’ll definitely be stopping by again! Can’t wait to go for lunch :)

What a lovely experience! We wanted a delicious lunch in a unique and relaxing, rural environment and that’s exactly what we got! The menu is not huge but my wife and I and two boy’s aged 11 and 8 all found something different to eat that we thoroughly enjoyed and would absolutely recommend. The ingredients are fresh and the preparation is absolutely top rate. The setting is a sophisticated farm house lovingly appointed with a fireplace, art and collectibles. We dined on the large wooden back porch and the view is just idyllic! Jane, the owner was incredibly kind and friendly. She suggested the boy’s explore the farm while we waited for our food. I got to sit at the table sipping my local craft beer, gazing out at the tree lined valley with the ocean glistening beyond while the boys pet the gentle donkeys and sheep and chased the chickens. Service was attentive and friendly. The deserts were perfect, not too sweet but fresh and homemade. If you are anywhere in the area, make it a point to dine at this charming spot.

Ate lunch at this hidden gem yesterday and absolutely loved it. We sat outside on the patio and took in a beautiful view of Pedder Bay Marina, the ocean and mountains. The menu included a ploughman’s plate, grilled cheese, Metchosin lamb kebobs, local salad, farro veggie curry bowl among other options. The beer and wine menu included a few favorites such as Phillips Brewery. After some deliberation, I went with the grilled chicken sandwich and side salad. It was delicious! Great bread(from Fry’s), greens, dijon, chicken… everything was tasty. One of the better sandwiches I’ve had in Victoria. The sandwich was filling, but not heavy. You could taste the freshness of everything(from the patio you can see the farm where they get their greens). We skipped dessert but everything sounded delicious(housemade raspberry sorbet!). Lunch ends at 2. Tea service runs from 2−4pm. Along with the outstanding food the location and service are excellent. After lunch we went to Matheson Lake, which is basically across the street. The restaurant isn’t far from the Galloping Goose in case you wanna ride your bike out on a sunny afternoon. The beauty of the patio can’t be overstated. Our servers were patient, calm, knowledgable and accomodating. We had two one year olds in our party and they joined tables and brought out high chairs for us. The owner is lovely and spent some time getting to know us as well as telling us about the history of the property. This is the ideal location for a lunch if you’re in Metchosin or headed to Matheson Lake. I’m really excited that we Metchosinites have such a nice spot.
