I’m giving this spot a lot of stars for a few reasons that are worth mentioning… First off they carry ORGANIC products — for a coffee shop that’s amazing! They even have organic almond milk, and I only drink almond milk so I was a happy camper! Secondly all their snacks are healthy and of course they have a cute patio/outdoor area to sit and watch people :-)

Haven’t tried any of their other fare but I would avoid this place for coffee. Awesome it is not. They work with an automated machine and it churns out«cafeteria cappuccinos». The milk tastes burnt and the espresso is lost in it. She who chugs coffee couldn’t finish it. And it was 7am. Telling point. But I must say, the two people working were simply lovely and cheerful for so early in the morning. To which I add a star. The spot is cute and definitely geared towards tourists but for a caffeine fix, go elsewhere.

Came here for breakfast one morning while in Victoria. Got oatmeal, yogurt and coffee. Oatmeal tasted awful, not sure what kind they use but no matter how much milk and sugar I poured into it nothing helped. I would never, and I mean NEVER!!! buy coffee here again. I like freshly brewed coffee, not something that is premixed in the machine and you just need to press the button and put a cup to it.

I decided to give Awesome Coffee a try today. With a name like that, I figured I just had to try it. I ordered a basic mocha(mocha java on the menu). The drink was made with an automatic machine rather than a barista. The big plus of the machine was that it was lightning fast. My coffee was pretty much ready at the same time I finished running my debit card through. It was also a little cheaper than the fare you normally get from coffee bars. The minus is that the mocha was relatively lacklustre. While the drink wasn’t too bad, and the flavours had combined properly(poor mixing is a big gripe of mine with mochas), it was bland and slowly lost what little character it had as the drink cooled. One big plus that I will give Awesome is that the lady behind the counter was super friendly and I quite liked chatting with her. It was late in the day and she was still quite upbeat and friendly. Overall, I wouldn’t go out of my way to get a coffee here, but the attitude and speed of the service makes it a worthwhile stop if you’re walking past or waiting for the bus out front.
