We booked a session here for our son, but after the first lesson it was obvious that the instructor(and school) did not have much experience with younger students. I could tell that the instructor had not dealt with many pre-school children before due to his aggressive behaviour(i.e. yelling) around my son. The supervisor, owner, and the instructor were in disagreement about the approach to take which highlighted how inexperienced the school was. The worst issue was that they almost«drowned»(dunking) my son as part of the program to encourage him to get used to water. Needlessly to say, this tactic utterly failed and caused my son to be afraid of the instructor and hated the classes. Keep in mind, that my son was quite young and probably did not even understand the concepts of swimming yet. This semester we put him back into a Richmond Hill City run swimming program and he loved it. Surprisingly the city runs a decent toddler swim school with teachers that seem to have much more experience than Kendal. For the price, lack of experience, near death experience, I do not recommend Kendal.

We booked private lessons for our son Josh and it was a waste of time and money. After 5 lessons it was clear that his instructor doesn’t know how to deal with small children. Josh loves to swim but he hated the lessons and didn’t want to go to the next one. We talked to the owner about changing the instructor, but the answer was«no». We then asked about refund(as we had to prepay for 9 lessons), the answer was«no» again. At the end we left and lost over $ 200 in unused lessons…
