Yat Ming Seafood Market

I think these guys must be a restaurant supplier. They have this huge halibut swimming in a tank. Selection is a bit limited but the prices are great if you are looking for live seafood. Lobster, geoduck, spot prawn, crab, clams and a few large fish of some sort.

If you want seafood fresh, as in live in the tank, then spare yourself the trip to China town and access this Riely Park special. Spotted prawns when in season, always lots of crab and lobster, clams and mussels and rock cod and red snapper. As a side note they sell cheaper lobster and crabs that aren’t restaurant quality because they only have one claw. If you don’t know, they taste just as good but for value I always get the double clawed because it’s the best eating.
I am always the only person here that doesn’t speak Chinese but worry not there is always one young guy that you can talk with. I think nobody knows about this place because it has a door with bars on it and a small sandwich board as advertisement.
Their prices are fair. This is a great resource for any home cook that is brave enough to venture into the dark and forbidding world of the sea
