I visited Vancouver by piggy-backing on a business trip of my husband’s since I had never been out of the states and heard they had a decent amount of vintage shops. Woo being on my list. When I stepped into Woo was was automatically taken aback by its level of awesome true vintage. There were 20s gowns hanging on the walls along side stellar 40s suits. There was a rack full of phenomenal shoes and the display case featured all sorts of wonderful shiny objects! The stock ranges from the 20s to the 90s, with the majority being true vintage(1920s — 1970s) and all at top dollar prices. But the condition of most of the items was very, very good. The racks are a little on the packed side, making for difficult movement. The woman working was very, very kind, and when my friend found a pair of vintage overshoes I immediately went on to discuss my love of them, and asked if she had any more pairs, and she went into the back and pulled out a pair for me that I had to have. I was very appreciative of her willingness to do so. I was very pleased with my purchases as well as the stock, finding multiple items of interest, but they lacked proper fit, and I know I will be back again if I find myself in Vancouver again!

I recommend this location if you want to buy vintage clothing and jewelry. I was so happy with all the vintage stockings I found! Another item that I finally found there that I couldn’t find anywhere else was a pair of oversized vintage clip earrings. The owner is friendly and calm, she is very helpful, yet not pushy in any way. Parking on Main is really not expensive, so this will be worth your while. Prices are very reasonable for the items sold. Please remember that those are authentic items.

I think they call it Woo Vintage because that’s the sound you make while you walk around the place… «Wooooo!» *exaggerated pointing* This little vintage spot is not for the casual browser. No no, in fact, unless you go armed with an idea of what you’re after or a very good, very well informed vintage guru(*cough* Nicky B!) it can be pretty darn overwhelming. This aint your standard vintage fare, it isn’t a «thrift store», it’s not consignment — this is vintage baby! Authentic, 1900’s and beyond finds. And for that, you’re going to pay. Don’t head in expecting a steal, but hopeful of treasure nonetheless. I highly suggest asking the staff for help. I can never quite figure out what a dress will look like on when snooping the hanging version and this place multiplies that by a hundred. How the heck am I supposed to know that that scoop neck, 60’s shift is going to make a dent in my wallet? Because I ask. The staff have an excellent eye and impeccable taste. Always go in with the mindset of «could I alter it?» That 80’s monstrosity might look super cute if you hack off the sleeves or raise the hem… Keep an open mind, take a buddy and DO ask to try the dresses hanging high on the wall on display — they are there for a reason and they will do DANGEROUS things to your pocket book! Oh and get yourself a fascinator or some tiny gloves while you’re at it. Because you’re classy like that.

Anyone who knows me knows that I have a food culinary obsession. I’m the one that goes to LA and bugs my best friend to take me to this one vintage toy/pop culture shop just so that I can buy a bunch of food related wrappers from the 50’s and 60’s. I have a friend who is a foodie just like I and I bought her a shitty gift. It’s hard to please the foodie that has eaten or has everything(trust me I am one of them). I wish that I had stumbled upon this shop near Christmas ’cause I found the most amazingly awesome thing ever… vintage fast food apron’s from the 50’s. Authentically 50’s. The price was very reasonable and modest for this piece of vintage clothing. I took down the name of the item and the cost ’cause I get paid next week, therefore, have something on my shopping list for myself. The lady whom owns the shop was super friendly and awesome. She had an awesome spirit and I can tell that she really loves her store. Seeing the vintage 50’s — 70’s dresses on the wall I felt like Elizabeth Taylor just looking at them. All the clothes are of good quality, nicely displayed and the clothes look cleaned and cared for.

This place is adorable. The owner has done a really incredible job of selecting some great pieces and has them organized by era. You can look at dresses from the 1900s all the way up, with different options in different sizes. She also has a great collection of fascinators, hats, ties, handbags etc and everything is in really good shape. The owner also knows a great deal about her pieces, styles and everything in between. It’s a great place to get period pieces and inspiration, but be careful, they may cost you a pretty penny.

This place is great. Tons of vintage dresses arranged by era and size, lots of shoes, and a ton of other stuff in this small vintage store on Main Street. The best part: they label the dresses with the bust, waist and hip measurements, rather than just eyeballing the size like every other store does! So helpful when scanning through the items. Very comfortable changerooms with a mirror inside as well as a larger one just outside, and enough places to hang your stuff while trying things on. The prices are a little more than I would usually want to pay, but the items they carry are quite high quality. I got a fantastic 60s leaf-print dress here today that fits perfectly for $ 55. Totally worth it.

Really cute vintage boutique. Definitely the best vintage clothing on Main street. Lots of 50’s and newer, a few older items. Great quality stuff, they fix anything that has a hole or tear. They also have a fabulous selection of vintage shoes. Helpful staff, nice window displays. I just wish this place was bigger!

My inner voice recaps my first visit to Woo: *open door* Oh. My. God. Is that a real flapper dress hanging up on the wall? Can’t be, it’s in perfect condition. What? There’s TWO? They’re real. Oh… vision blurring and tasting metal. *skittering around, pawing clothes racks* Here’s a 1940’s Chanel cocktail dress, and a sequined jacket straight from Studio 54, and caftans from Mrs. Roper’s closet, and Nancy Sinatra would love this authentic Pucci minidress in canary yellow… plus-fours, crêpe de chine, velvet shawls, fur muffs, fancy hats, and SHOOOES! Pointy toes, t-straps, elevator shoes… sparkly jewels and wee cocktail party purses. Squeee! — My inner voice forgot to add that Woo’s lovely owner has personally owned many of these beautiful vintage pieces previously and they are all in excellent condition. She has cleaned and restored many more with loving care. She and the other staff are very knowledgeable about vintage clothing and more than happy to chat with you, no matter how busy they are. Prices reflect items’ rarity, name brand, condition, and restoration. Woo hoo!
