Wind Mobile

I have been a Wind subscriber for two years now and love them. Great value, coverage has improved so has call quality. But please do not shop at the Denman Mall Wind store. They are not a corporate Wind store but a independent dealer. There are some great independent dealers in their network but this is not one of them, here are the reasons why you should avoid this store with your all your cellular life.
A) They charge you an extra $ 3 to top up. Seriously? This is just pure greed, 7 – 11 or any store which sells top ups do not charge a extra fee. It is a outright sketchy thing to do. Remember whether you pay before or after on Wind the plans and prices are the same. They also charge you $ 3 to pay your bill in the store.
B) They will not accept, credit cards or debit cards for sales, payments, top ups. Only Cash. Again this reeks of them maybe not reporting taxes as cash can be hidden. They claim it is because they have been frauded. They used to say it was because their CC/​debit machine was broken. Again questionable business practices.
I have and others have complained directly to Wind and I was informed that Wind is investigating their practices and they may review their franchise.

To top it off they are rude, the store is disgusting and they sell grey market phones as well. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

And even though I returned my service at Wind, I’m impressed by their customer service. Just not their coverage of Squamish.
this is for their unlimited mobile internet, for $ 35/​mth, or up to 10 gig, which is crazy as it is. They use this «pocket hotspot’, kinda like the size of a hockey card but as thick as a phone, to go do its wireless thing. Made by Huawei, $ 99 one-​time, no contract, the issue i have is that it takes a while to power up, then also, doesn’t last very long, esp. if you’re trying to get internet up to 5 different devices. Literally have to charge this every night for the 2 weeks I had it for.
so it’s kinda cool if you’re not in a WIFI free area, then you can use this Wind WIFI device – get internet on your smartphone, laptop, ipad, etc.
Another reason why I returned it was no coverage in Squamish as i go whistler quite often.
