Just moved to the city and a friend recommended we eat here. Food was good, we ordered burger’s. Staff were friendly and helpful, we asked alot of questions about the menu because my girlfriend has allergies and they never got impatient. I would recommend this place and will be eating here again.

It’s okay. The food is rather bland and feels more like someone threw a bunch of ingredients into the pot rather than a tried and tested menu. Tried the Buffalo burger and it came with a single slice of cheese, some wilted lettuce, and a tomato slice. The poutine is really yummy if you get extra crispy fries, otherwise the fries are undercooked. However, for $ 12 for a small poutine and small salad? It might be worth passing on. Ended up spending almost $ 70 for two beers and two meals. Service was meh. Really disappointing as its around the corner from my place. I’ll probably stick with the McDonald’s across the street. :(

Finally checked it out. At first I was only customer and then livened up. So much so that at times I felt like I was at a party where I was only one who didn’t know anybody! Was great seeing interaction of staff and the regulars. I came first for beer and 2nd cause I heard they have veggie gravy poutine. Be still my heart. It was beyond delicious. The gravy was super flavourful and lots of cheese made it gooey good. Came with a large green salad of mixed greens and veggies that was fresh. Had a Howe Sound beer and met several really interesting people. .this area desperately needs more little haunts like this. I will be back to try more food as it seems quite veg-friendly.

Had green eggs and _______. Food was tasty but eggs and bacon were not as warm as they should be. Seems quality has gone down from when it first opened.

Haven’t eaten here before and saw a coupon from the entertainment book. Presented the coupon upon arrival got the food which was pretty good. I had gotten the hot plate which included protein in it which is why I got it. Finished our food and our bill came it was not until I asked her that the item I had gotten was supposed to include meat and she said it included chicken but not beef. We got charged $ 7.00 extra for a item that could have been avoided if she told us in the beginning. I paid the bill but was not impressed with the face that it was our first experience and she just so happens to «forget» to tell someone that they will be charged that much more. I won’t be eating here again because they clear don’t care about the customer and being truthful. Disclosure!

Been there twice now. Pretty standard fair, really nice staff. Solid fries, but when I ordered the buffalo burger it seemed like the patty was dry or cooked from frozen, which wouldn’t have been a huge problem if It didn’t cost $ 16+.

They serve the tastiest brunch I’ve had. I like the big breakfast, and they weren’t kidding when they said big. Toasts, eggs, bacon, potatoes and french toast. Everything is well seasoned, you just can’t stop even when you are full. Everything’s fresh and local! Friendly staff too!

It’d take a lot more me not to like the Tipper. The mentions of the friendly service are all true. Even as the comment that the staff are more absent than perhaps a restaurant, but this doesn’t bother me usually as everything I could want and need is provided first go around.

The best thing I can say about this place is that their burgers are awesome, the next best thing is that some of their beer specials are great(hello pumpkin ale!). Um warning. The pumpkin ale is _strong_.(Translation: 2 pints and I was teetering home versus just walking) I don’t recommend their chicken wrap if you have a mayo allergy(egg yoke) like me because when I ordered it without the offending allergy inducing mayo they instead put no sauce or seasoning at all inside and it tasted less than ideal or more I’ve waterlogged all-day soaking chicken in a wrap. But hey perhaps you’re lucky and can eat the Chipotle mayo(lucky battled). Their chicken wings and fries are pretty yum too.

Recently moved to the neighbourhood and have been looking for a local pub. Very pleased to say I found it tonight! Very friendly staff, great food, $ 5 pints and scrumptious deserts! If I could make one recommendation it would be to heat up the caramel chocolate cake.

This place has your pretty standard bar food, and although it’s nothing blow your mind away, I’ve never been disappointed. The service is friendly and prompt and the food is pretty decent. I’ve had both their blackened chicken and regular beef burgers and both were satisfying. I’d say the fries were wanting something a bit more, but most places forget to make the fries just as tasty as the burger. Everything else is nice about the Tipper. I’d definitely come back.

My experience with the restaurant can be divided into two categories: the few things I’ve tried before the buffalo burger, and the buffalo burger. I cannot explain how amazing this burger is. Maybe it’s because I don’t eat beef, so I don’t get to taste a meaty burger like this very often, but MAN. The patty is usually crisp on the outside, moist on the inside, and bursting with what I can only describe as deliciousness. As a bonus, they have gluten free buns, which is great for my celiac partner. I’ve also had their poutine(mmm), a breakfast sandwich, and their cajun chicken burger. Chicken burger & breakfast sandwich were decent enough, but nothing to go back for. But the buffalo burger — I have biweekly cravings for this very item and can’t bring myself to order anything else.

I really wanted to like this place — in the neighborhood, cool vibe… too bad about the food. I ordered the steak sandwich, got a piece of unseasoned meat on half a bun. The meat itself was flavorless in a really weird way. Ordered rare, got well-done. My friend ordered the bison burger, which was just okay. The fries were good, the service fantastic, over-priced for what you got. Unfortunately I won’t be back.

Casual but friendly place. Food is good and all seems fresh. Nice menu. Accessible location although parking I believe can be tricky at times as iy is on the main road. They have a nack room where artist perform so good little spot for after work and evening entertainment.

I really like this place. It’s nice and cozy. They have pillows in their booths which is cute as well as local artists art on the walls which is for sale. They’re food is average Canadian cuisine, nothing to write home about, but it hits the spot.

The food is mad decent, and the wait staff are pretty dope as well. They’ll give you crayons and paper. Coffee refills abundant. I give them 4 out of 5 stars, only because they don’t have any hot jacked asian waiters.

Came here with my family and four of us ordered Chicken Strips, Buffalo Burger, Tomato Fettuccine, and Smoked Chicken Wrap. Chicken Strips and Buffalo Burger were dry and not delicious. I really liked my Chicken Wrap it was yummy and filling. Tomato Fettuccine was not bad at all. My dad said the soup that came with the burger was delicious. Btw there’s extra 60 – 75 cents for soup, yam fries or salad with sandwiches. Casual atmosphere, small portion(good enough for one person) and friendly server. Tipper Restaurant didn’t impress me, it’s about average and so I give 3 stars.

I was kind of hoping that this place would have an eggs benny, but they didn’t, so I got a burger instead. They try to make things healthier by adding greens that most people probably don’t eat, especially on burgers. I sub’d for the garlic yam fries and they were really good — definitely the highlight of the meal. Mediocre experience, can’t even write more than a mediocre review. Probably won’t return.

We planned to have phở for lunch, however, we parked in front of Tipper and changed mind to check it out. I didn’t like it when we got seated coz too noisy and old interior. In general, the breakfast price range is $ 2-$ 4 cheaper than west side. Well. of coz, we didn’t expect the quality then. Our breakfasts were quite disappointing. The salad n eggs portion huge and French toasts was ok. The ham was quite dry and hash brown a bit salty. Coffee was JJ bean coffee, so ok. Overall, the service was great and friendly. Sorry… probably not come back for food!
