We saw this pub and wanted to get a bite and watch a play off game. We went for lunch and had a great time. There were plenty of TV’s to watch the game. Service was great. Menu had a little of everything. We selected the duck sandwich and bison burger. Great choices very good. We also had the veggie chili. I highly recommend this place.

The Cove is a pretty large neighbourhood-style pub located deep in the heart of kits. They always have great selection of craft beer on tap and their food is much higher quality than the standard«pub-style» food you get at other places. The interior is spacious and typically you can always get a spot for larger groups too, which is a rarity in Vancouver. They’re also always playing sports, whether it’s NFL, NBA, NHL and personally my favourite, College Football. The Cove also has daily specials like Sunday Caesars or 50% off wings on Wednesdays. I always go for the wings there, and I should probably cut back. They’re huge and delicious. I personally think that there should be more places like this in Vancouver. It’s laid back, serves great food, their cocktails and beer selection is awesome and it doesn’t turn into a club on weekends(or even weekdays!) like other places that are similar in Vancouver. You know what those places are. Places that start playing tub thumping techno music starting at 9PM where you can barely hear the person you’re talking to right next to you.

Went there for our date night and had a great time. The food was really good and so was the service. We will be definitely going back. The dessert ice cream bomb was so good!

Had a great time on a Monday night. Great staff and went back during the day and the staff was great again. Check it out such a cool place to stop for a drink and a bite to eat.

Nice location… pretty good food and fairly priced… it’s another Pub and to give a pub 4 or 5 there needs to be something that stands out

I’ve been here a few times. Always a nice atmosphere. We played trivia on Monday night. Failed miserably but it was fun! I recommended that for a fun thing to do on Monday night. My friend and I had dinner and it was amazing! I have a sandwich on cranberry bread. Yum! My friend had pasta which was super tasty too.

Great neighborhood pub — one of the best in Kits. Lots of regulars, but many newbies too, always welcome. Great service, super entertaining bar staff and extremely efficient and friendly serving staff. Tons of TV’s for sports enthusiasts, nice bright room, Keno, Poker and Sports Action outlets to entertain you if you like that sort of thing. And old school games in the corner for those of you who like actual human interaction. One of my favorite places to go on a Sunday or Monday afternoon. And Definitely for NFL action during the season. PS — best soups in town

Nice, cozy place. They have large booth tables to accommodate big groups, but it’s also a nice atmosphere for couples or small groups. Average beer selection and good food.

Cozy place with a nice pub atmosphere, but there is room for improvement with their food, at least the burgers. Especially their fries which appears to be store fries just heated up, small and over fried.

Spent many evenings here back when it was Jeremiah’s but haven’t returned in over 10 years. Went tonight for a change of scenery and I have to say, I love the new look — which I guess happened 3(?) years ago. This place really should be busier but surely, when your obsessive collection of big-screen TVs clearly out numbers the clientele, that’s your warning that you’re doing something wrong. 13 TVs in just the lower area is 12 too many and downright annoying! And what’s with the cheesy elevator music??? Why??? We didn’t eat here and thankfully 2 beers on the menu surpassed the usual sh*te selection, so we were saved by a reasonably priced pitcher of Parallel 49’s Gypsy Tears. Amen! This is a great-looking bar that’s been really well renovated, but the ambience(TVs, crappy music and lack of clientele) makes it pretty depressing. Sadly not even slightly tempted to go back.

I came here today for a work lunch, so I can’t comment on the atmosphere in the evening. The place was pretty empty while we were here. We were a large group, about 16 people. Our orders came out very staggered– some of us were done eating while others’ food hasn’t arrived. Strange. The food itself was good. Not great, but good. The beer list was not impressive, but there were a few good options. I would come back if I was looking for somewhere to eat or drink in the area.

At 3:33pm the regulars were at the bar, and the rest of the pub had a bad showing. This was your run of the mill bar with brick walls, high tops, an upper floor with a balcony looking down, and 13 television sets to cover any sporting action; from every angle, even if you had to look away to sneeze. We went right to the bar to order, but were immediately dismissed and sent to take a seat. The bartender pointed to a waitress who sitting and folding, declaring that she would be the one to help us. This was despite the fact that he wasn’t busy himself, and she would only take our orders to relay to him, to have him pour. In fact he was too busy to do his job, but had time to jump up and attempt to pose in my picture, the one above that I was taking for this blog. So we sat waiting. The waitress was insistent on finishing her task of folding. She carefully creased and stacked her pile of washed reusable napkins. When she finally showed up to take our order, it was only done half heartedly. We enjoyed our beers and downed our Dr. pepper shots only to realize that my guest was drinking out of a glass with a substantial crack in it. And when alerted of this, the bartender who came to clean up seemed indifferent. However had we cut out mouths on it, it would be a whole other story. Would I come back? — No. Would I recommend it? — No. I didn’t even take a peek at the food menu, but if the service was always like this, the best foods in the world would not have me coming back. I felt like I was a hassle to them. Why would I spend my money purchasing drinks and food whose prices include service; when the staff care less about customer service and more about perfect folds in napkins? We had no intention of eating here today, but even if I did the service scared it all away.

I got really excited when I saw they had gluten free buns for their burgers. That was until I tried eating one. It completely crumbled in my hand leaving me with a fist full of meat and an arm dripping with sauce. Also they were out of Strongbow so I had to have really over priced white wine… Not my favorite, but they have a lot of nice TV‘s to watch sports on, the wings were good and the server was really friendly. Plus I did like the space and location. In closing, I will probably go back, but only if someone else suggests it.

This place is bad. Worst food/drink experience I’ve had in a while. I went with some friends for drinks. It was kind of busy but nothing they shouldn’t have been able to handle. Service wasn’t that prompt but that’s about as good as it got. I ordered a burger and it was a burnt hockey puck. So I let the server know and she got me another one, but left the burnt one in front of me. I guess she was being nice, leaving me the fries while I wait but how unappetizing is that? The remake came and it was below average. Dry, no taste, bacon and cheese couldn’t save it. Atmosphere was average. Service below I’d say. By my second round of beer the waitress probably hated me so I’m not surprised I got the wrong beer. Maybe it is because I spent 13 years in F&B and so I’m more critical but at the same time I like to think it makes me m

2 or 3 stars for the food, 4 for the quiz night and staff. Were with a table of 7 last night. Staff were SUPER busy, but she was friendly and let us know right away that she’d be with us as soon as she could. It took awhile, but at least knowing that she knew we were there somehow made the wait more bearable. I’ll start with the food: –Lamb meatballs: dry, no punch of flavour, yogurt sauce was bland. Love that they served roasted garbanzo beans with it! –Brie and Apple Flat-bread: arugula, caramelized onions, brie, softened apples. Delicious. Recommend it. –Tuna Salad: fell short. It was almost a nicoise salad, but not quite. The dressing was too oily, the tomatoes were squishy. I looove a pickled bean(order extra in my Caesars), but I really don’t think they belong in a tuna salad. A fresh bean? Sure! Great! But nope, a pickled one just feels out of place. –Pork Tenderloin wrapped in bacon — small portion, somewhat crunchy risotto… not great. The sauce poured over top was good though. Thumbs up for that. –they make a good Caesar. That is important! On to the GREAT parts — Trivia night was awesome! The girls running the show(Alana and ?) were hilarious… they definitely gave us bonus points somewhere, as we ended up tying for 1st in 2 of the 3 rounds. Being dirty in your answers will help score all sorts of points! We got 3 keys, but didn’t get the grand prize. Was a hoot anyway… we’d probably go back just for that. Big TVs all around — would be a good place to watch a hockey game. If you’re in the neighbourhood and are feeling thirsty, stop by. It’s nothing crazy amazing, but if you go in with lowered expectations, who knows, they might suprise you?

Was driving around looking for a good spot for lunch i’ve never been to and stumbled upon The Cove. The interior of the Pub was very nice and clean, they had a good selection of TVs to watch while you sat at your table, I imagine a great place to go to catch a game, too. They had a great brunch menu which I ordered from and was surprised by the great low prices for a good quality meal, would definitely return and try out something else on the menu! Cheers!

Well-priced, low-keyed but not low-brow, good place to eat, drink and watch the game. The previous occupant of the space, Jeremiah’s, was a neighbourhood institution that just needed some refreshing… but lo’ & behold, The Cove came in and completely transformed things. This place is now a definitive sports bar with ten(or more?) TV’s in addition to the dropdown projection screen. They play sound for the games(far too many places don’t play the sound), although on one occasion they were torn with half the bar wanting football and the other half yelling to bring back the hockey sound… The food is sports bar gourmet: bison burger with blue cheese is great, southwest sandwich is also very good, salads look hearty & healthy, as do the soups. Alcohol is relatively cheap, and often they have fun surprise deals – the waitress came to our table with flashcards that had the names of NHL players who were playing that night and asked us each to pick a card. If the player we drew scored a point, we got a free pitcher. We ended up getting a free pitcher! Great way to earn customer loyalty. The servers are very nice and fun but their actual service is awful. Four of us, ordering only beer and wine, waited over 25 minutes for it to arrive – on four separate visits to The Cove! On the fifth visit we were with a group of ten, so delays and issues with the bill will be nearly inevitable. I’m still giving 3 stars because of the food, décor/tv’s and the fact that it’s in a great location.

This is a very decent neighbourhood pub. Apparently they recently went through some renovations, and it shows — the interior is very nice. They have a few microbrews on tap(I had the Naramata Nut Brown, from Cannery Brewing out of Penticton, BC. It was on special tonight, for $ 4.55 for a pint). I also had a poutine, which was allegedly«Montréal style». I am from Montréal, so I can tell you with confidence that this was definitely not true. Nonetheless, it tasted fine, but it was a little on the pricey side($ 8.95 for a small plate. I wouldn’t expect to pay more than $ 6 for the same thing elsewhere, although for some reason poutine is often expensive in this city. I wonder if the Liberals have placed some secret tax on cheese curds or something). My friend had the chicken fingers and I’d have to say the portion was pretty small for the price. Monday nights are usually trivia night(unless there’s a hockey game). Our team tied for the win tonight, so we got $ 30 off our bill. I’m not going to take all the credit… but you can’t spell«team» without«me», now, can you. I’m just saying.

The Cove, formerly Jeremiah’s, cleaned up its act and added some new fun things. Went tonight for Monday Quiz Night at 8pm. The questions were more my intellectual level(pretty low) but I still couldn’t answer most of the questions. In any case, you don’t have to be there for all 3 rounds, but you have better chances of winning«keys» which may or may not open the box o’ cash that is the grand prize of the night, along with a jug of beer. I think they also have Tuesday night karaōke? But I’m not into that so I hope a fellow Unilocaler can review it for me. I wonder what happy hour is like at this place? I forgot to mention that the pool table upstairs is gone, replaced by nice-looking tables and chairs. Food was pretty good, better than I remember from the last place.
