Came to try dine out and made a reservation for 830. By the time everyone got here and ordered, it was 915 and then the waitress comes back to tell us that dine out ends at 9pm and we’d have to order the items separately or change our orders. No mention of this anywhere or by anyone. Service is beyond horrible, you’ll be waiting 30 minutes for lukewarm water. EDIT: So the manager saw my review and apparently they had a bunch of new girls working and are also shorthanded tonight and they would have of course done the dine out for us if only he knew. He came out and offered us dine out on him another time. Super apologetic and nice. Shit happens and they dealt with it great! Thanks

A very fun restaurant/bar/club. Nice patio in the summer. Theres different games at the entrance and a good selection of beers/cocktails. Food is more then correct and the evenings are really interesting ! Games night, karaōke/live music, club nights or simply watching a game. I love this place and think the employees are friendly.

What a brutal place to try and have a good time with a handful of girlfriends. First it’s a $ 12 cover & the door man said it was for a DJ. I don’t mind paying cover, but don’t tell customer is for a DJ that doesn’t even know how to play. His mixer was too loud so the music sounded distorted through the bar. Then the bartenders charge different prices for the same drink, one charged $ 8.75 for a crown & coke. Then the next charged $ 9.00 for the same drink within a 15 minute timeline(between 11 – 11:15pm). When charged the $ 9 drink, I asked to see a receipt & the bartender refused to give one. I spoke with a server to find out the correct price was the $ 8.75. But to top is off the $ 9 drink was also short poured, since they pour on the bar mats on top of the bar. Either this bartender was extremely under trained or had no care whatsoever about the patrons in attendance. I would never go here again & would spend my money any other place in the world.

Donnelly is always a hit or miss. The service here is notoriously horrible. Food is always meh, drink specials are good.

We were in the area for a concert and getting our food recs exclusively from locals. Normally if you go into a place, order a beer and pretzels, and ask for a recommendation the staff would be snippy about it. Not so with Bimini, Danielle was happy to ask around for a good dumpling rec even while providing us with stellar service. She was so engaging with us, making a point to have a real conversation even if we weren’t getting a lot of food from her. We discovered Gastown and great Chinese dumplings because of the helpful staff! Will definitely go back for a real meal next time.

I am a big fan of the Donnelly Group but I was disappointed by the staff and service at the bimini. the upper bar went un manned for 20 minutes on a friday night which seems insane. then i was greeted rudly and got a sub par beverage… i will not be going back

Most entertaining karaōke I have ever seen. Atmosphere nice, beer very good, service amazing, and spotless restrooms. Plus… Epic yam fries. Ice count in drink a tiny bit high, but other than that, great spot for a consistently fun night out.

So I’m posting my review from Super Bowl Sunday(Seahawks vs Patriots) a few months late. Actually I’m posting because I went past the Bimini the other day for the first time since the Super Bowl, and it jogged my memory to write about my experience. First the good: they had a nice special($ 5 Kronenbourgs) for Super Bowl, and their food is decent. Here is my big beef about the Super Bowl. The Canucks were playing that day(noon start) BEFORE the Super Bowl. I asked the waitress to put the sound on the Canucks game. The manager came over and said they wouldn’t change the sound because people were listening to the Super Bowl pregame. The problem was when I received this BS answer, I WASTHEONLYGUYINTHEBAR!!! No one else had arrived. Listen, I want to watch(and listen) to the Superbowl more than anyone else… But I’m also a huge Canucks fan, and I can only take so much pregrame hype for the Superbowl. Basically the manager didn’t give a crap about her customers, and had no clue how to prioritize the audio for the games that day. In general, I think that the Bimini is a decent pub with decent food and specials, and a solid beer selection. It’s a shame that the manager just didn’t get it when it came to servicing real sports fans on one of the biggest sporting days of the year.

Extremely loud with not so great music. Overly flirtatious female staff and none of the staff seems to be organized. Definitely a bro bar with a small dose of slutty girls.

Wow! Attended on a Tues for lunch. Great service from Shane. Beef Dip sandwich which was one of the best tasting I’ve ever had. Prices were in average range. I’ll go back again for sure.

This is a really great gastropub! Sunday roast is absolutely excellent! I was greeted by a very pleasant and knowledgeable bartender and the service was excellent. Only mild complaint is that if you sit right at the bar and wish to watch the televisions, you will have to look upwards at about 45 deg to see them, and that may be a bit uncomfortable on your neck. Highly recommend!

A very chill bar with a dance floor later in the evening. Great crowd with some very good looking people :) Pool table and games downstairs and a bar upstairs. good food and a nice atmosphere in the heart of kits!

Went to Biminis to watch some World Cup soccer … Fail. The bartender must not be a fan because he rather would have music playing than then commentating of the game. Any decent pub or sports bar should have nothing but soccer playing during World Cup. Maybe this is why they was only 4 of us on the bar. As for the food and servers … Great.

I have a nostalgic connection to The Bimini. It was called *Bimini’s* during the 1980s and 1990s, and I remember my parents going there for drinks after work when I was little. Then, when I hit legal drinking age, I too enjoyed it as a neighbourhood pub. Then, it burned down. It was resuscitated a few years ago and now the Donnelly Group manages this bar. Although it has that generic, douchey Donnelly feel, The Bimini has great weekly deals and offers some awesome draught beers. The service is decent too, but there are a few reasons I don’t frequent this place. First, the volume of the music. I like music. I am not old. And I rarely complain about noise levels. Having said this, I literally cannot hear the people I am with when I drink at The Bimini. I always sit in the upstairs portion of the bar, near the windows, because it it a bit quieter there… but it is still unbearable. I have left after one drink on several occasions because my eardrums have made me. Second, the darkness. I really like the ambiance of The Bimini in the winter because the interior is dark and woody. However, the walls are black, there are very few windows, and there is no outdoor seating. This is not a summer destination! In conclusion, if The Bimini tones down its blaring early-Nineties hiphop I will patronise it more often… in the winter.

I walked by this place tonight and was enticed by their $ 1/rib(min. 5 pieces though) deal, and decided to come in for a try. The ribs — fabulous, would’ve ordered another serving except I already had some dinner. There are 3 flavours: BBQ, Cajun, and Honey Dijon… I heard the BBQ is the most popular so I tried it, and I liked it a lot, especially at the reasonable price of $ 5. Only minus one star is though the bartender is very nice and friendly, the manager(lead waiter? boss? owner?) is not exactly too friendly, then again, I was only in there for a $ 5 appetizer, so I guess there’s not much incentive. Regardless, I liked the bartender, the ribs, so I will give this place one more try next time. Wait for the update Unilocalers.

What. The. Bloody. Hell. This was such a nightmare. Me and my girlfriends went to grab some dinner around 6. It was just chaos. We entered the establishment and had to self-seat ourselves. That’s fine with me only if the waitresses/servers were attentive. They were NOT. We weren’t given any menus. We had to ask for menus. No one was assigned to take our order. We had to ask for someone to take our order. Probably about 30 minutes had passed before someone took our order. Then, as we got our order taken, it was so obnoxiously loud that the server could not hear us and we were screaming in her ear… awkward. Undoubtedly, the server got our orders wrong, I mean, I don’t blame her because the music was SO loud. Then we waited another 35 minutes before our food came. But it didn’t come out in any kind of order. Two girls ate first, then 15 minutes later, the rest of the girls got their food. Our ordered were wrong so it was already a disappointment and we didn’t want to go tell our server she messed up because the updated food order would’ve come i another 20 minutes. We ate. Food was decent at best, but the prices were WHAT. How does a sandwich cost so much?. I don’t know. We finally got our bills. More chaos. She didn’t know how to use the card machine, lucky for me, I work at a restaurant with the same machine so I showed her. She didn’t separate the bills properly, so we told her. Waited for her to update the bill which took another 20 minutes. Finally, we paid(took only 30 minutes) and got the hell on outta there. Basically, we eat for 20 minutes, waited for about 2 hours. It sucked. So badly. Maybe I’d come back not for food but for the drinks and dancing — I heard that was fun.

Went there tonight to grab a beer and some food before another event. We showed up at six, and over half the tables in the bar were reserved. Seriously?!? Found a table hidden the corner. Service was good, food was good, but the beer selection is lacking. They have fat tug and mirror pond though, so not a total loss.

Good grief, I don’t think I’ll be back here in a hurry. Now a bit of preamble, a couple of friends and myself decided to get a drink and a dance late on a Friday night and decided to go to bimini’s. We arrived about 30 minutes before kicking out time and so, kindly, the bouncer let us in for free. It was pretty clear to see why this was the case though as we went up the stairs to see the dance floor, which was reminiscent of London after the blitz. There were empty glasses, water and a hell of a lot of napkins/toilet paper all over the floor. I’m pretty sure there was broken glass too. The music was average at best and the beer was a bit overpriced. Apparently to get in normally its $ 15 which is rather stunning considering this is a pub(its basically a cashgrab). I didn’t have a positive experience of this place and we got in for free, there’s no way I’m returning.

I have to say, the service ruined this place for me. But before I dive into that, let me be fair and say that this place is quieter than other bars I’ve been to, so I like it when I hang out with my friends. We can actually hold conversations without yelling at each other because the music is too loud(the downstairs is best for that. Upstairs, not so much). The drinks are pretty expensive, but the pitcher is averagely priced($ 14.95). OKAY! LET’S GETREALANDTALKABOUTTHATTERRIBLESERVICEMYFRIENDSAND I RECEIVED. We ordered a pitcher, finished that one, and ordered another… except this one didn’t come. So we asked our waitress about our order, which she brought LATER. The place was pretty busy, so that was excused. Later, we ordered two more, and asked for our bill. Our waitress, however, charged us for 5 pitchers, instead of 4. We told her that we ordered only 4, and that one of the pitchers never came by. She kept arguing with us that we ordered 5. None of us were drunk either, so we were 100% sure that we only received 4 pitchers. Instead of suggesting to talk to a manager, she continued to argue with us, with an extremely rude voice. We were extremely fed up. The one thing I regret though is that we SHOULD’VE asked to speak to the manager… but my friends don’t really like confrontations, so we avoided it. We just paid for the 5 pitchers, but I don’t think any of us tipped her that night. I understand that perhaps the waitresses over there don’t get paid well which may have been the result of her grumpy mood, PLUS I’m sure there are drunk people who probably argue the same thing, except they’re actually drunk and they’re just being assholes. But at the same time, she could’ve handled this situation a lot more professionally than she did, and hence, I’m not happy with this place at all. How is the Donnelly Group training their employees? Do they teach them to be rude to their customers and argue back instead of handling it professionally? Just awful. NEVER going back here again.
