The food is pretty good, but the service is terrible. I’ve ordered online twice, once for pick-up and once for delivery. Both times I didn’t get the confirmation call, and when I called in they hadn’t checked the system, so hadn’t started the order. When I went to pick up the first order, at the suggested time, they hadn’t started to prepare it, and it wasn’t until I pointed out that I’d placed the order 45 minutes earlier that they even started. I had to wait another 25 minutes. The second time, delivery was promised in 45 minutes. This was ridiculous, given that it was a Wednesday evening and I live only a few blocks away. When it hadn’t arrived after 45 minutes, I called and was told that the driver was busy and it would be another 30 minutes. I said that was unacceptable and that I expected it in 10. It was delivered in about 20 minutes, and I suspect that it hadn’t been prepared until my second call. The food was fine, but if we’d wanted to eat at 8:15pm, we wouldn’t have ordered at 6:30. With a wide array of better options in the neighbourhood(Sushiyama, Sushi Mania, Dream Sushi, etc), I won’t use Sushi Main again.

Popped in for a solo lunch a few weeks ago and had the brown rice combo listed on the sandwich board. Quick, friendly service, soccer on TV. Terrific FRESH rolls, tasty miso soup and delicious agadashi tofu. Ordered the same combo tonight for take out and added an ebi sunomono salad and it was so delicious I couldn’t help but inhale everything. The sunomono was the best I’ve ever had and the rice noodles were tied in these delightful little bite sized knots and that made it so much more manageable. Right amount of vinegar/sugar ratio. As I was leaving all three staff members in the front of house thanked me for waiting. No no, thank YOU for this delicious food. Can’t wait to go back!

This place is a ok. The previous owners moved to a fancier part of main street bringing the zipang name with it. This new owner is from China and though his food quality is there is lacking a bit in knife skills and actual sushi prep. Our salmon sashimi was cut pretty close to the skin giving some stringy bits and also very uneven sized pieces. The cooked food was awesome, especially the grilled mackerel and prices are very reasonable, especially for the location. Also, it’s pretty quiet so tables are easy to find even on weekends. Maybe next time they will turn down the heavy metal music though… We have kids yo

I was really excited that a new sushi place had opened up along main once again. I’m a regular at sushi mania, and I thought this place would replace it. I was impressed with the decorations and seating. But the wait for the wait is a little long. Me and my friend waited for our food for about 40 minutes, and I wasn’t so happy. But once the food came, all was better.

I’m hesitant to bring to much attention to this revamped sushi place as I’m getting use to always being able to get a seat… The quality and consistency of this place is way above pretty much all other sushi places south of 12th. The simplest rolls are excellent, their special ones are fantastic. The tuna is always fresh and delicious. I’ve eaten here to many times to count with family & friends and we’re always blown away with how good it is. The décor is a little dull but don’t let that persuade you not to give it a try.
