Truthfully i wasnt satisfied i had sushi cheaper than this and it was still good they stuff their rolls with alot of rice and it was all messy. The rice tasted really old to. It is cheap but for all that its worth i wouldnt ever go there ever again. I orded spicy salmon and scallop roll and it seemed as though they just squirted hot sauce all over the roll it was extremely salty and just unedible. My friend ordered a bento box and it wasnt all that good. Extemely disappointed.

I needed somewhere close by to drop in for lunch with my kid, and the Unilocal reviews looked good, so I stopped in. First, I walk in and ask for a table for two. The waitress tells me that despite the fact that the place looks like a normal dine in sushi restaurant, I need to order at the counter. Not having been here before, I stood at the front counter like a dork for 5 minutes looking over the menu instead of while sitting at a table with a cup of tea like at any other civilized restaurant. Nigiri also comes in pairs only, which limited my options. Anyway, i order up 4 rolls, none very fancy, pay right away(+tip), and then go sit down. The food comes quickly, and I’m trying to get my kid settled with his meal so I ask the waitress for a glass of water. She points to the self serve tea/water station at the sushi bar. Great. I’m in a self serve cafeteria disguised as a restaurant. There are only 4 other customers in the place, and she’s just hanging out behind the counter eating. The sushi is actually pretty good, particularly the sushi rice. Nice and firm, not soggy and seasoned well. But, I ended up finding these thin white threads of either cotton or a synthetic fuzz stuck to the bottom of my sushi. I pulled it off easily and kept eating as i didn’t want to be there any longer than I had to. Another couple came in to eat, and no one seemed as weirded out as I was by the counter service, so I’m sure it’s my own personal hang up when I’m not eating in a mall food court. The waitress though delivered their food to them while still chewing her own food. I’m not really squeamish about much in a restaurant, but that’s not really a bonus. Nitpick: my soy sauce dish had some dried food in it. Not the end of the world, but yet another knock against a place that I was already not digging. So, in 30 minutes, too many knocks against this place. Never coming back considering how many other places are willing to pour you a glass of water when you stop in for lunch.

Excellent place! I was never a huge fan of Japanese food but this place has changed it. The chicken tempura don is amazing. The people are very courteous and the food great. Highly recommended.

Had chicken teriyaki don and chicken tempura don, both were good portion and very delicious, rice was just right.

Best Udon ever! I went here expecting good but not great. what I had was THE best udon I’ve ever had in my life(try the Kitsune udon). I told the waitress, and she said it’s Tokyo style udon, and that their chef is actually Japanese! I can’t comment on the sushi as I didn’t order any, but I’ll update this review when I do, because I will definitely be going back there! The place was quite busy at 2pm on a Tuesday, which speaks well for it!

Wow, really impressed by this place. Ordered a large sushi combo, they were happy to substitute wild salmon for the farmed Atlantic salmon for a very small surcharge. The miso soup was great, tons of tofu in it which I liked. Very fresh and yummy salmon and tuna nigri and maki sushi.

Pretty good sushi. My only issue is if you ask for brown rice you end up with warm sushi. I’ve never had this issue anywhere else when asking for brown rice. It’s kinda unpleasant to eat. Warm sushi is just blah.

This is a good place to go to really chow down on some fast sushi. There are a bunch of other sushi places around(especially around victoria drive 5 min away) but what sets this place apart is that the sushi here is a lot more fresh. They also have a brown rice option which is always a plus! 4 stars for brown rice!

Sushi is decent for its price, and a great place to go after school just to hangout with some friends.

Finally a decent Sushi place that has opened around Champlain Mall in my hood. There have been times in which I was sitting at home listening to records thinking, «f*ck I want sushi.» Driving to Metrotown for cheap sushi didn’t appeal to me, however, the 20 minute walk to the mall seemed more appropriate. I didn’t need to walk considering that sushi is healthy fast food, however, I like to get all hyped up with my IPOD during the walk listening to YMO(Japanese Kraftwerk). The service is awesome and friendly. The establishment is clean. Sometimes I just bring my journal and write for hours while eating sushi and drinking green tea. It’s a good filler.

Fast, cheap and good sushi. My friend wanted to grab a quick dinner tonight and suggested Sushi Go. Are you serious? It sounds like a fast food joint. To my pleasant surprise, the restaurant looks like they put some care into decorating. It’s not a huge place, but there were about 6 or 7 tables. You order the food at the counter and they will bring the food to you, –tea is self serve. The best part is that you can substitute any rolls or nigiri with brown rice for an extra cost. Healthy and it didn’t even put a dent in my wallet.

This is definitely an A-OK sushi place really close to my house. If I’m in dire need of some Japanese fare and too lazy to go too far or too impatient to wait for delivery, I come here! It’s a nice little restaurant and the food seems to be fairly fresh, but other than that It’s definitely not a stand out from the crowd kind of sushi joint. One time I ordered a couple of their sushi platters for a party and they turned out fairly decent, and I’m basing that on the fact that all of it was gone/eaten in the first 10 minutes. Some advice: If you ever go to a potluck bring some sushi, if your aren’t already bringing dessert. Sushi tends to get the most attention and the people at the party will love you for it! But beware, make sure to watch it close because there will always be someone at the party that will sneakily take more than his or her fair share LOL(not that I’m one of those people hahaha) St3Fin

I was surprised by the quality of food here. It is relatively inexpensive, quick with nice service and again, surprisingly good. Don’t go expecting the best sushi in town but don’t worry about whether it is edible or not(it is).

I am from France, my girlfriend is japanese. We’ve been living in Vancouver for now 6 years and I can say without hesitation that this place makes to best sushi out of the countless Japanese restaurant we tried. I highly recommend the tray #21(which has about 40 sushi i think), perfect size for two, has all the best sushi and cost around $ 30, what a deal for such quality fish/ingredients!
