I don’t know if they’ve had a recent ownership change but the service and quality has gone downhill fast! It appears that they always have 2 – 3 trainees working and no one is supervising their work. They ration the vegetables on their sandwiches like they are preparing for the great depression. Iceburg lettuce isn’t liquid gold. Cashier is always friendly but they put a «tip» option on the debit card reader which slows the payment process down. I don’t know a single person who has ever tipped their«sandwich artist» at Subway… owners just being greedy. I now purposely walk the extra two blocks out of my way to a different Subway.

The vegetarian sandwich that I asked for was supposed to have cheese. I paid extra for cheese and I still got one thin layer. Sadly I didn’t notice this until I was on the bus on the way home. I thought that I made my order clear, however, in spite of the language barrier I am sure that I thought that she understood that I wanted a vegetarian sandwich with extra cheese. At least the cookie was good.

Great food and fast service. Only thing I thought was odd was that the drinks weren’t fountain but only sold bottled. They did have two six-inch subs on sale though for only $ 3 which is amazing!

For a quick bite to eat, or on my lunchbreak, Subway is one of my favourite spots. This particular Subway is one of the busiest spots in the food court in Royal Centre, and its not hard to see why. You can get a 6″ veggie sub here for $ 3.45. That is probably the cheapest thing in the whole food court. Even over at Extreme Pita you will have to pay $ 4.82 for a small veggie pita. That’s a whole $ 1.37 more, and for what? Friendlier service? Faster service? I don’t think so. Ok, Extreme Pita does have one thing up on Subway, and that’s the fact that they carry balsamic for their pitas. I don’t really give a rat’s ass if they fry me up some green onion and mushrooms because once they put it in the wrap it gets cold anyways. But why the hell doesn’t Subway have balsamic vinaigrette dressing? Ok end rant. The staff at this Subway are great, they have always been super nice to me and usually remember exactly what I want in my sandwich, which helps speed things up for everyone else in line. Also, Don’t be fooled by the line, it moves pretty fast.
