This place is AWFUL! I went in at 9pm to use a coupon I had, when I got there they said the kitchen closed a half hour ago… they don’t close until 10 and there is no indication anywhere that their kitchen closes before then. When I asked why their website says they are open until 10 and the kitchen closes at 8:30 the guy said«I’ve never been to our website» And at the risk of sounding extremely judgmental the guy I spoke with who was the only employee there seemed like he was high on crack or something… he made me very uncomfortable!

Would I come back? Probably no. Don’t know how long that place will last… Went there 2 times… not by choice. My friend got 2 coupons for Skyline Restaurant. First time we went there during lunch back in December 2011. The place was dead and i mean dead. We were the only people there. We’ve ordered calamari to start and 2 lunch entrees(grilled chicken with fries and salad) and half a litre of wine. Calamari was delicious, just the right amount of batter on it. It was served over the bed of mixed greens with a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette. After almost finishing the place I’ve realized that the aioli was missing from the plate. They forgot to bring it. Oh well… not a biggie. After an hour we got our«grilled» chicken. I had to ask the server a few times to see if they can speed up the process… it is lunch time afterall. I don’t have a whole day. The server explained that we’ve ordered from the dinner menu. That is not correct. We’ve ordered from the lunch menu entrée selection. Anyways, it took them forever because obviously they had to cook the chicken from scratch since nobody else comes there at lunch. So fine… let it be. When the chicken finally arrived… it was barely brown color… it was more beige than golden brown. The skin was soft and not crispy. It was definitely not grilled but a sad attempt at roasting. The thigh was poked multiple times to see if it was cooked all the way through… NOTIMPRESSED. The second time we went there during dinner in January. The menu has changed!!! We still ordered the calamari since we really enjoyed it the last time. I’ve ordered bbq chicken pizza and my friend ordered chicken breast over mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. The calamari was not the same… it was better the 1st time around(even though they brought the dip this time). Pizza was good, nothing too spectacular. The chicken breast that my friend had was dry…(we ended up packing it so my dog can eat it at home). Overall…it’s a better option than food court have a bite before you go watch a movie… the prices are reasonable…

Nice menu, simple and uncomplicated. Apparently its(the menu) new but if i judged that by the actual menu itself with its blurry and faded print, I wouldnt be too sure. From the start, my server(the only server) was kind and attentive, even with the guy sitting at the bar demanding her attention. Food arrived in a timely fashion. I had the Classic BLT with a guacamole mayo(that was the selling point) on focaccia with a salad. Why restaurants stilk consider a concoction of mixed greens and a vinaigrette a salad is beyond me, would it it hurt the pocketbook to throw in a tomato or two? The vinaigrette was heavy and very salty; I couldn’t finish the whole thing. The one thing that really bothered me was the«salad» had two different temperatures, ice cold and room temp, like it had been tossed, and put in the fridge(hours ago). My sandwich had bacon that was barely cooked, and the guacamole mayo, was flavourless(unless he just used regular because that’s what it tasted like), the entire sandwich actually lacked flavour(I never thought you could screw up a BLT)! The foccacia was nice but the inside of the sandwich ruined it. If i wasn’t waiting for a gallery to open, I never eould have eaten here. And I never will again. At least the server was nice. PS — The coffee is TERRIBLE!

Just opened, probably the only other real non-asian resto with tablecloths, that can provide a wide array of selection, if you’re in the Chinatown area. Also if you want the view too. Perfect for big parties, and able to be loud since it’s pretty spacious and not worried about others complaining… the bar can be a sports area with it’s huge 50-inch projector style screen. anyways, on to the food… Ordered the BBQ pizza and chicken strips. Yes i realize not the most original but hey, that’s what i was in the mood for haha. As a previous poster said, it’s a great alternative than the food court stuff if one isn’t in the mood for it. It’s worth going if you’re going to a nice casual date before/after the movies lol. but not earth shattering.

Our waiter was nice, but I’m almost 100% sure they are serving watered down or mislabelled beer. Fries with our meals were soft. Burger bun textured and tasted like it’d been around for a few days. Cheap materials used for décor(pipe cleaner to tie the curtains, etc). Cheap meat used in burgers(appears to be using that frozen breaded chicken breast you get from the grocery store, grilled). It was kind of sad. The place would maybe be ok for a snack or something but unless things get turned around expect at best food-court fare.

It seems like they’re trying to resurrect the mall, as usually it is pretty dead. Anyways, on to the review! This place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Once you get past the bar area, there’s tablecloth dining area, and tucked into the far corner seems like a dance floor. I sat in the dining area, and we only had a single tealight(that goes out every 15 minutes) for lighting. Skimmed the menu and the place serves brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks. There were two of us, so we ordered the mirzagasemi(eggplant mix of something… like a dip, i assume?) and the roast lamb platter. Perhaps because they are just getting used to the whole restaurant ordeal, that our food came… 20 minutes later. At least the waitress checked up on us and didn’t forget. The mirzagesemi came first, served in a crème brûlée-sized custard dish, and pita on the side. We thought it tasted pretty decent. My friend was so tired and hungry that he thought it was meat but couldn’t figure out what kind: p The roast lamb came with Greek salad, a potato, and a choice of either mashed potatoes or boiled potatoes. I was confused because of the many potatoes, but I was hungry at that point so I didn’t care. The lamb was very tender; fell off the bone. I thought it lacked taste though. Potatoes and salad were standard. All in all, I wouldn’t mind coming in here again if I was in the area and wanted to eat something other than food court food. Next time, I’d want to come in when the dance floor is open :)
