I am a fan of Shoe Fans, although in no way president of the fan club.
This store has parallel online and street-​front stores. So for those of us in Vancouver we can shop for shoes online but then actually head to the store to try on sizes.
I’ve only dropped in once and left with a pair of shoes I’ve practically slept in for quite a few months. The proprietor was very sweet and helpful although didn’t have any good fit advice for me when it came to the shoes. See, I’m caught in half-​size limbo and always want to know if the shoe will stretch much and I need the shoe clerk’s take on this.
Prices span the full spectrum from cheap, trendy $ 30 – 40 styles up to well-​made leather boots at $ 200+. There is an air of practicality with many of the items, but also some fun party shoes.
Overall, I like the new territory that Shoe Fans is treading as an independent.
