I never knew this place existed in Yaletown and I am very happy i found this spot. The food is really good and the chai tea is really amazing!!! I also suggest the dark chocolate waffle, I needed more than one. Coffee is organic and tasty. I will be back!!!

I used to love this place but it has consistently gone downhill over the past year or two. The coffee is still wonderful, but the selection of baked goods is horrible and exceptionally over priced. All the prices have gone up and all the food has gotten smaller! The pizza has also gone down hill and is now closer to American style pizza(covered in cheap cheese) Then what it was before.(Perhaps this is because the pizza is priced by weight?) A sneaky trick that I’ve heard a few people in the neighborhood complain about.

I can honestly only say good things about Sciué on Davie street. Modern, Italian, Espresso and Bakery all in one. It’s a little trip to Rome in 2015, minus the airfare. Their homemade doughy donuts covered in sugar are one of my favorite treats. And the atmosphere adds a nice touch — you hear Italian around you on your left and right, and families with well behaved children enjoy brunch and long conversations. I like to order pizza + a san Pellegrino Aranciata. Or a latte and a donut(the small one, not the gigantic donut they make — although… someday I will indulge!) But there are so many other things on the menu I really want to try — like the eggs benedict or the chocolate covered waffles(!) On a sunny day you can sit out on the outdoor patio area and take in the fresh air. On a cold and rainy day you can sit inside where it is warm and modern but still somehow cozy. I love booth seating, and every table here is situated in a kind of long booth setup — with one chair and one booth bench. It’s convenient for pushing tables together for a small group of a handful of friends.

This place is perfect for some pizza or other Italian delicacy during the day. True Italian pizza(this is coming from an Italian) as well as a very good lasagna. Service is good and quick. Overall I highly recommend.

I really want to like this place. So badly. I’ve been maybe ten times and every time without fail the coffee has been burnt and bitter. The food(breakfast pizza!) again is great in theory, but sub par execution. Would totally come back if they could stop burning their beans!

Enjoyed the friendly and fast service and the thin, Roman-style pizza. The Hubs and I got two kinds of pizza to go and headed to the border. While we waited to cross into the U.S., we noshed on our tasty slabs. The crust was a bit too hard but this wouldn’t be a problem if you eat in and have them heat it up for you. Still, despite giving our jaws a workout, it was really good. I think the other people in their cars were jealous. Glad we stopped by Sciue!

Nicely located on the roundhouse square, but unfortunately has super-rude staff, mediocre food, over-priced items and is very dirty.

I’ve been meaning to go to sciue for a bit so I stopped in for lunch the other day. The staff was friendly when I walked in and gave me time to look over the menu. I decided to go with the toscana panini and a matcha latté. I ordered to stay, and the staff member said everything would be brought to my table with my number. I decided to wait in their lovely outdoor seating area.(The string lights are extra cute, feels European with the brick on the ground too!) This is where things kinda went downhill. The panini was already premade and they just had to throw it on the press– I waited for 10 minutes before my sandwich came, without the matcha latté. I went to the counter and it had been sitting there I suppose for a while. On to the food! Seeing as it is an Italian bakery, I expected the panini bread to have a nice crunch on the outside but be soft on the inside. I think because it was overgrilled, it became chewy and tough. The flavour was good but I was not a fan of the bread texture nor how the veggies were in big slices and were not very bite-able. My matcha latté was warmish, but didn’t have much of a punch to it. Overall it was an ok lunch, and I might go back to try something else(the pizzas looked great), but this time it was a miss for sciue!

This is a great place to enjoy a glass of bubbly on a sunny afternoon in the summer, relaxing at their outdoor patio while you quietly get a little day drunk. As long as I’m indulging myself, I also really like their chocolate dipped waffle things, and am totally into buying pizza by the gram. The pizza itself is ok, being well prepared with fresh tasting ingredients, but once made the pizza can end up sitting out for a long time as it waits to be sold. This means the mild reheating that occurs doesn’t always cut it to get everything as ooey gooey delicious as I would like.

I enjoyed a soy mocha and the eggs benedict with spinach and brie. It came with fingerling potatoes. All very yummy. Friendly staff.

As there are more and more locations of Sciué popping up around downtown I feel like their quality is going down. This location I believe is the original(but I’d have to confirm) if not original it does seem like one of the better ones for sure. It’s a classy Café, kind of like Starbucks only its a different vibe which can be a nice change of your a regular Starbucks goer.(I’m not, I enjoy then hole in the wall cafes myself haha). Check this place out if you want somewhere to meet for coffee that’s simple, easy, and won’t disappoint.

Service is now friendly. Good job getting rid of the previous staff. Now they smile and talk to you, and stuff like that. Thumbs up. Food has always been pretty good. I will go hear again.

Absolutely lovely… Everything is on the pricier side, but really worth it for a treat. Came back for more pizza(this time black olive pizza) and the dark chocolate covered waffle, which both deserve A+ The lovely lady working at the counter was very helpful and friendly and didn’t keep me waiting around at all. Great for takeout or dine in. For the other reviewer who said the pizzas don’t look appetizing, I agree… This case the presentation doesnt do justice, you have to try. So much better than nutrients-deprived greasy pizzas in downtown, and you actually feel nourished.

I was taking a water colour painting class at the Roundhouse Community Centre. It was from 12 to 2. Not having the foresight to have lunch before the class, I was starving by the end of the class. My friend told me about Sciue Bakery and since it was close by I walked in for a late lunch. I walked up to the counter and a girl asked me what I wanted. I said its my first time here what should I get? She said the pizza without any hesitation so that’s what I ended up getting. I don’t really know what kind of pizza it was. I heard something about prosciutto and something with ham and cheese! Doesn’t matter all I have to say is it was great pizza! The crust is what made it! Super thin and tasty! They charge you by the weight of the pizza but it seemed like a good deal. What you see on my plate was about $ 10.50. Pretty cheap. I was pretty full but I want to come back and try their desserts! They sure look good!

I love love love the Sicilian paninis and pizza at this place. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but everything tastes like it was imported fresh from Europe. The coffee and desserts and also great. Highly recommended.

My wife and I were given a gift certificate from our very Italian Realtor when we bought in the area. not knowing what to expect it was a pleasant surprise to find out the latte is most likely the best in the city. Rich and low acidity, the baristas really know what they are doing. The brunches are amazing also with the benedict topping my list. Such a great patio and ambiance. I love this place!

$ 5.00 glass of prosecco. Delicious fresh flat breads(read: Smoked salmon and argula mmmm) Peroni. And the most adorable little pup-friendly balcony, with little garden lights. This place transports you back to a slower-pace of Europe, and the fact that it’s always full of Italians is indicative of that. Plus they’ve been showing world cup constantly, so major win there. Perfect spot after a walk on the seawall, or for an afternoon think.
