Customer service is terrible. They put out a groupon but then limit who you can book with and when(none of which was noted in the group on fine print). Every time I spoke with the receptionist there they were rude. I ended up refunding my groupon. I definitely would not recommend this business.

Bought a Groupon to get my hair cut and highlighted there, but when I called to book the receptionist was EXTREMELY rude. DONOTBUYTHEIRGROUPON. I requested a Saturday appointment, and was told this Saturday was fully booked and that Saturdays are especially busy and need to be booked in advance. When I asked to book the next open Saturday and told her I had a Groupon, I was then told that since I wasn’t a regular customer I COULDN’T book in advance, and I had to call each week on Thursday’s to ask if there were any openings?! Do they really expect their Groupon customers to call every Thursday for weeks trying to get an appointment? Ridiculous. When I said I’d be asking for a refund, the receptionist curtly said«Why are you telling me? That’s a Groupon issue.» Clearly they do not care about gaining new customers. Don’t even bother with them!

Came here to get a haircut with highlights. The place is small but well kept. Decors are normal-looking. The guy that did my hair was very friendly and has some years of experience. I got a very good head massage and I was happy with the results. Price was in the mid-higher range. Free street parking around that area.

Went here with a groupon for the shellac manicure. It was my first time getting my nails done professionally and my friends recommended me to get the shellac instead of gel nails. I had no clue what the difference was except that it was ‘better’ for my nails. So beforehand, I sent over a few pics I found on the web to the salon to see what the additional costs were to add the designs. They reply very quickly to my emails and was told that for shellac nails, there is minimal design possibilities. We spoke over the phone what I could do, what the additional costs were and whether I’d need to add an extra hour or so. The manicurist recommend that I get the single color shellac since it’s my first time and would reserve one hour for me. I told her that I would personally prefer something a little different than what I could do at home, namely the single color shellac. She said simple designs should be fine but we could discuss more about that in person. The staff were very friendly on the date that I arrived. We quickly got into business and she started working on my nails. I was so indecisive about which colors to choose and was told that for shellac, gradient coloring was not possible. This made me a bit disappointed because it seems like my only option was the single color shellac. So I could only do an accent nail by adding and additional $ 5. So I agreed to that as it seems like that was my only option for not having such a plain result. While she was doing my nails, I saw a shellac palette with designs and asked if these were possible. She said yes, but not for me today because I only booked an hour. Like… what!!! She told me designs were limited and we could discuss them in person and then decide. We never got to that discussion till… maybe now. But she was kind enough to let me pick a simple design for the accent nail to do within the hour. She told me that a few of the complicated designs would require the extra hour or even the simple design on more than just two finger nails would not be possible to do within an hour’s time. I was super satisfied with the color and design. I was very impressed by the outcome. However, not sure if this is the proper way, since I’m a manicure noob, but the nail polish did not begin from my cuticles but a bit further up. If you look closely at my nails, you’d think it’s already growing out. Anyways, shouldn’t be such a big problem since my nails do not grow that quickly and my friend’s shellac nails last for more than 2 weeks. However… my disappointment came after the next few days which the grow out was so visible, it did not look as pretty as the first day(obviously). Not complaining yet. But then a few of the nail polish from a few of the nails started to lift. I didn’t think this was a problem till my friend asked me how long I’ve had it done for. I said about 4 days and she told me that’s not right and I should go back to get them redone because apparently the manicurist did something wrong. Especially since some are lifting and some aren’t and it typically should last 2 weeks minimum since I don’t do any house chores or do any vigorous activities with my hands. So I contacted them but all they kept on telling me was that they would be able to ‘check’ what could be causing it to lift but could not confirm that the fixings would be on the house. The nail salon that my friend goes to does all the fixings for her if something is wrong within the week. I would say, overall not a wonderful experience and sort of puts me off from getting my nails done outside since it doesn’t last that much longer than what I can do at home

This was the most transactional haircut I’ve had in recent memory. I called to make sure they had an appointment available the same day I called, then bought their Groupon online. I went in, I wasn’t offered tea or water, I wasn’t offered a magazine to read. Got my hair washed, got my hair cut. Minimal small talk with my stylist, which is fine with me. Done within an hour. Would have maybe liked to get my hair curled(rather than just blown-dry) but there wasn’t time as the next person was coming in. That’s okay. I’m not fussy about haircuts, I’m very low maintenance. If Unilocal offers ½-stars, I would give this 3.5 stars. My decision to come here was completely driven by price(and location). If you’re looking for a place just to get a haircut, this is it.

Went to Salon Prive today for a manicure. I don’t live far from this salon and was excited to see on Groupon that they offered nail services! I’ve been shopping around for a new manicurist, and wasn’t disappointed. I was coming back from a trip and my ferry had been delayed, I called the salon to try to reschedule but they said they had a 24 hr cancelation policy and my groupon wouldn’t be valid but I could use the value as credit toward a service. This is when I went into rushing mode and tried my best to get there on time, 15 min late and they still took me in! I was happy. The lady that did my nails was absolutely charming and very good at what she did. She charged me 2 dollars for taking regular nail polish off, which I have never been charged at any other place before. The groupon says there’s a charge for only taking gel off, so I was a little confused, but whatever I guess it’s only 2 dollars. She had a steady hand and shaped my nails how I had asked. She was thorough enough despite me being late yet was very fast. The girl at the front desk was also very pleasant, and even put in money for parking for me! Obviously she charged me what she put in at the end of the appointment, but I was really impressed by how helpful they were. My manicure looks lovely and I would definitely come back without a Groupon and pay full price! I’m curious to go back for a hair appointment as well. I saw others getting their hair done and the products displayed seemed quite natural. I might go back to check it out! :)

Not to be confused with The Room, the salon that previously inhabited this location. Unfortunately the difference is night and day, In particular when it comes to the attitude of the staff, who are surly as they come. Also had my ear cut by one of the stylists, it bled a lot. You can get better haircuts for cheaper, and with friendlier(and more careful!) service at Halo which is practically right across the street. Ask for Jindje, she is awesome.

Had a haircut and coloring done here. Showed a few pictures of what I want, and asked the stylist for some suggestions. She offered some ideas and off we went, quite happy with the haircut. The only thing that took 1 star away is that I was never offered a drink until I ask and the color came out 1 or 2 shades off. Overall, still recommend this spa, the free hand massage was a nice freebie :)
