Great family run spot that produces some great food. There can be a line up at lunch time but that’s how you know they are putting out some good stuff. Meeting an old friend to catch up — perfect Forgot your lunch at home — perfect Don’t want to eat fresh at subway — perfect

A really good place to check out if you’re in the area for lunch. They have a good sized menu of salads, soups, sandwiches and some pasta and quesadillas. I’ve had their basic grilled cheese sandwich with a cream of corn soup(amazing soup) and today I tried their grilled crab and cheese sandwich with a cream of asparagus soup. The soup again was really good and the grilled cheese was very interesting and was packed full of real crab meat. Personally, I didn’t love the flavours of the crab and cheese — it just didn’t work for me but for others I’m sure it’d be fine. It was a great value for the amount of crab you get. My friend god their tomato and beef bolognese with quinoa pasta and I had a taste and it was pretty good. You could barely tell that it was quinoa pasta which is awesome for a healthier option. I’ll be back to try more items on the menu.

The best soups and salads in the city. Especially the avocado and black rice salad(always add crab!) and the Chickpea salad. Simple and honest homely food that’s healthy with great portions and very reasonably priced. Always great customer service. Hidden gem near Olympic Village.

Stopped here for lunch and I’m happy I did. It appears to be a family run business so you can tell they take a lot of pride in their food and restaurant. I noticed they had a specials board but everything was sold out so it appears everything is really good. I had the roast beef sandwich with Japanese pumpkin soup and my fiancé had the grilled cheese with crab and mushroom soup. They were both delicious and we were very satisfied with our meals. I will definitely be coming back.

Awesome little lunch place, very friendly staff, great service, and fresh, healthy comfort food! finally was able to try the roast curry ¼ chicken w/potatoes, carrots, and a side of garden veggie soup(also had the option of chorizo sausage w/peas, instead of soup); it was so good! but get there early rather than later in the aft, as it sells out quickly, due to its popularity. another review had mentioned something about being loud inside, but they were playing nice jazz music this aft, not load at all… it wasn’t that busy at the time tho.

Lunch on Wednesday — we were going to a play on Granville Island so Merian and I split a crab and cheese sandwich, she had a cauliflower soup and I had a butternut squash soup. They were all excellent — a nice balance between crab and cream in the sandwich and nicely flavored soups. The service was quick and friendly and I like the casual atmosphere., We’ll have to return to try the other sandwiches, some really good-looking salads(the choice of the next table over), and some quesadillas on the menu.

Family run shop and everything made in house. The customer service is awesome, and everything I have tried is great. Prices are definitely reasonable for what you get — and bonus, everything comes with a small cup of soup. I’ve definitely been a repeat customer, and would recommend the seaweed/cucumber salad and the chickpea salad. There are a few tables, but I usually grab lunch to go as they are so quick and efficient.

I always passed by this place and it was closed! Well no duh, their hours are for lunch and early evening :) I tried the curry chicken(yum!) and the crab grilled cheese. Each menu item comes with a soup(bowl diameter size of my girl Palm). I tried the beet coconut(more pink and beet yes!) and the veggie soup. I’d come back for sure~ healthy and timely service. Filtered water is available for all patrons.

Creative menu, well executed, and with generous portions. I had the quinoa, chickpea and peanut sauce salad, while my husband had the black rice, avocado and crab salad. Both were very tasty and came with a small cup of soup of the day. It was plentiful and we brought leftovers home. Service is friendly and efficient. We’ve been a few times now and it’s always been good. As others have posted, it’s definitely a great addition to the neighbourhood and a much-needed option from the craft beer eateries nearby.

The staff was very friendly — the woman at the counter chatted amicably with me until other customers came in who she needed to serve. The atmosphere was nice and the facilities clean. The prices were very reasonable. However, the food was just okay. Not bad, but not great. I had the crab and cheese sandwich and it was a little bland, as was the potato cheese soup. I’d be curious about the curry chicken, since that is marked as recommended on their menu, but not enough to warrant a return visit.

Wow! This place is a discovery! I like the chicken, feta, sun dried tomato quesadilla and soup… I mean a lot… I found that the bowl of soup is pretty small… Also you can’t go wrong with the grilled crab and cheese sandwich! The place is an American chain… I was surprise to hear that… I show up two times already and plan to come back again!!! Opening Hour: 11am to 4pm. Closed on Sunday and Holiday. Good to know… Right?!

My wife and I happened to be in the neighbourhood and came across this little hole in wall! But wow, the price was great and the food was delicious! My wife had a Roast Curry Chicken and I had a Grilled Crab and Cheese sandwich! It was really good! And yes, there’s real crab meat!!! Highly recommended for a quick delicious and affordable meal choice!!!

This is such a cute little bistro! As the name would imply, definitely a lot of red to hit the eye. Friendly staff. Decent food. All sandwiches come up with soup. Did I mention I love soup? Not as good as Burgoo but still good. The day I went, they had a chowder as one of their soup options. There was no way I’d be able to pass that up. I tried the grilled crab and cheese sandwich with the chowder. My partner had the chicken feta quesadilla with the curry corn soup. Loved the quesadilla. I would come back for that. Definitely the most filling option. The crab and OK but nothing special. Noticed the grill marks on the bread which is always nice. Nice place to sit down for a quick bite.

I work in the area and have eaten here many many times. Every meal has been outstanding. The soups are always fantastic; fresh, varied, wonderfully layered and balanced. Fav’s are Japanese pumpkin, califlower, broccoli cheese. The chef is always smiling and willing to discuss his presentations. Great guy. Very well priced for superb selections.

I’m very surprised with all the high ratings. I had the roast beef sandwich and it was awful. The soup was bland and flavourless. I hate giving a negative review because I’m sure the owner is nice person and this is their livelihood, but at the same time there is a bar that’s been set and this restaurant does not come close to matching the quality and expectations one would have when dining out in the city. I live in the village but unfortunately this is not a spot that I consider a feasible option. Maybe others feel differently, but I don’t think there’s much here that’s deserving of high praise or above the ordinary.

Happy to have another food option in the village other than our usual Terra Breads staple and all the craft food restaurants! The menu is simple but the items are good. Sandwiches aren’t measley ones you would whip up yourself but have quality ingredients and the pasta was delicious! All menu items come with a side cup of soup(it really is a small size but does the trick). I think our soup could have been heated up a bit more, it was more luke-warm, but no big deal. When you check-in you get a free chai latte! He didn’t make a batch the day we went in though so offered a pineapple coconut smoothie instead and it was really good. We were there on a Saturday and it was dead. So if you want somewhere quieter than Terra down the street, check it out!

Very healthy clean cuisine! I had the special veggie wrap with a bowl of potato soup. Delicious full of flavor. I also had a cup of their organic coffee perfectly brewed and only $ 2!
