Red Square Salon

JennyLynn at Red Square is phenomenal! She knows curly hair and colouring like no one I’ve even been to… She is well priced and always on time. My hair has never looked better!

I search incessantly on the world wide web whenever I want to venture to a new spa, salon, nail bar, etc… only to be disappointed in the lack of reviews on these establishments.
Although I have only been to this salon once, I feel it is my obligation to all of you «beauty» queens to share my experience. Also, my visit here was almost a year ago. So hopefully I can dig deep into my memory to do a proper review.
I received a lovely gift certificate from a sweet family member to use with her stylist. I used it for an ‘up-​do’ for a special evening event. Prior to my appointment I went into the salon for a consultation with the stylist. I explained to him the details of my attire for the event and my ideas for my hairstyle.
I thoroughly enjoyed my consultation. The stylist was friendly, professional, and had some great suggestions. Most importantly, he listened to me. Having someone who is patient and takes the time to discuss your concerns and questions is «key» to any hair consult.
The day of the event was an absolute whirlwind. All I remember was that I had minimal time to get from the salon to the makeup artist studio. Knowing that I was on a tight schedule, the stylist worked very hard to keep within my time limits. The end result was good, not prefect, but good. I strongly believe that if I had more time for that appointment, I could have had better results. He is very talented. Too bad I didn’t have the time to «fine tune» my hair do.
I personally did not get a haircut (or any other treatment) here, so I can’t comment on his hair shearing abilities. But I do have friends that are regulars here, and they seem to be happy.
This is a small boutique-​like salon with 3 – 4 stylists. Funky space. Not a big operation. It seemed like everyone had their own clients. Did not see any walk ins. Call for an appointment. I don’t think they have a receptionist, so don’t be frustrated if they don’t pick up the phone. Just leave a message and they will return your call.

From Russia with Love.
This boutique-​style hair salon has only two chairs and occupies a really cool corner in a fabulous building in Gastown’s fashion district. Across from it is my favourite sandwich place so. cial and on the alley-​side is rows antique stores, the Block and Bricohe. The feel is very hip and urban, one of the colourists is known to do great blonde highlights. The room is a big-​open space, lots of natural light, one wall is wallpapered in red and giant white hanging lights add a cool-​vibe to the place. Loving it!
