I loved my friend’s hair cut so her style brought me here. Affordable price and courteous service. First I signed agreement that Q&A isn’t responsible for lost/stolen items and questionnaire on hair care and allergy. Then Sarah, my stylist, took sketch of my hair style and asked length of hair cut. And also asked if I wanted straight, U or V shape cut on backside. I got my bangs cut as well. Got my hair washes before the cut.($ 16.50 for my hair cut) I had to sit there for about hour and 20 minutes. Patience is the key. Stylist cut my hair onto desired length and instructor came to check and cut little bit more. I really liked the quality of service. As other Unilocalers mentioned the price is unbeatable. I found out it’s 56 for(medium length) hair colour and $ 59 for a perm(medium length) after asking stylist. According to staff, tip is optional and it’s cash only. I didn’t know about $ 11 wednesday deal ’till I read reviews and will go back on wednesday for a cheaper deal on my next visit. I really liked my hair cut and my experience at Q&A was amazing.

In town for vacation over the holiday and needed a haircut. After getting turned away at several salons I was able to get it at the school. My stylist paid close attention to what I needed and went to work. For what I normally pay $ 70 in the states I got for $ 12.00CAN. Great service and deal, I need to come get my hair cut in Vancouver more often. P. S. Weds are haircut special day, your welcome:)

I went to get a hair cut and I loved it. Although it is a beauty school, all the students are really prepared. I was booked with Jasmine and she was really nice. They are evaluated for the service so they do it really carefully. Before they begin, they ask comet questions about your hair routine and do a little sketch for what you want. The instructor comes to see it before they begin cutting it. When they finish, the instructor comes again to see and fix if there is anything that is not quite right. In my case it was just some splits, nothing major. The students are really friendly and I loved it. The only thing is you have to be patient because it takes a while, since they are doing everything calmlly so they don’t miss anything. My appointment took around two hours. The price is really great too! $ 16 for a hair cut and Wednesday it costs $ 11.50. They do all kind of services. I am definitely going back for a hair cut or some other thing.

Best prices in town. The students are very careful and you get more attention than you would in a regular salon. They double check with their instructor before the service and after. The result was really satisfactory. Will definitely recommend to my friends.

I went in for a wash, hair cut and blow dry. I was amazed at their service and had a great experience with Cindy, my hair stylist. She was really enthusiastic and checked in with the instructor to make sure everything was ok — and it was. I was a little wary of the time given the reviews, however I was in and out in an hour. I will definitely be back again!

All the stylists here are training students, and they go back and ask their teachers for advice when needed, so that’s always good! Plus I kinda got the feeling they care more that your hair comes out perfect, cuz it will be evaluated at the end! Absolutely love the place and people here!

Wednesday special haircuts for $ 11.50 is such a great deal: including a detailed examimation of your hair condition, shampoo & conditioning, then blow dry. They’ve done a wonderful job on all of my friends’ and my own hair as they were able to fulfill our wishes. Service was beyond excellent; all of the workers made it comfortable and made all of us want to come back next time. Highly recommended for those who want to fancy their hairstyles! Additionally: the entire salon had very nice vibes

Wow. I must say how impressed I was with going to a student salon! I mean, I knew they’d do a decent job because I read on their website that each student has to check in with their teacher before doing things. So I wasn’t worried about having a haircut — especially since I was just looking for a trim. But! I had a blast, which was unexpected! I was in the chair for about two hours — so don’t come if you expect to be in an out the door. Nokira, my stylist, was great! She’s only a few months into the program but she already does a great job. She’s really personable and friendly, and she didn’t hesitate to give me some advice on my haircut — which says a lot about a student, in my opinion. The teacher — I believe his name was Ken? — was just as awesome. He was funny, and despite being super busy running around to help all of his students, he still managed to have time to sit and chat with me. All in all, I’m really impressed and I will definitely be back!(Did I mention that the haircut only cost $ 16?!) A side note — if you want to tip your stylist, make sure to bring some cash as they don’t allow tipping on credit and debit cards. Luckily I had a wallet full of toonies so I was covered but I didn’t see mention of this anywhere on their website.

I had such a great experience! I had my hair cut by Dixie, she was a student, only 7 months in the program. But she was amazing. She was really particular with my hair, consulted her instructor whenever she felt unsure. I totally felt at ease and completely trusted her. It was definitely more than the money’s worth. Will definitely be coming back!

Hair cut by students! Great! Inexpensive, high quality hair cut. Downside: takes a little longer than usual — count on about double.

I had an amazing experience, I’ve never had someone so excited to cut my hair! I went from should length to above the chin asymmetrical do, which was fairly complicated. My stylist(Amanda! Same name buddies) checked after every layer to make sure everything was perfect and her instructor did a great job teaching her and making sure the cut was just right. My only concern is that you can’t include a tip if you pay by card, it’s cash only for tips! So I had to leave without giving a tip and I feel so bad, she really deserved it. So forewarning people, bring some cash because these girls/guys do great work and you’ll want to give them something extra for their time!

Totally recommend this place. I’ve been coming here for quite sometime now. Everytime I come here I leave HAPPY. Deep conditioning treatment is simply awesome. What more? You get 20% off any hair or makeup product in their store after a cut. :)

10⁄10 would recommend. The students are very careful but confident. They double check with their instructor as often as possible and the instructors make sure that you’re well taken care of. And everyone is super friendly and fun. Go on a Wednesday if you’re only getting a haircut — it’s $ 11 for both men and women.

If you are broke and willing to let a student have a go at your locks, this is the place to go! Having grown up in a small town on Vancouver Island the idea of spending 200 $+ on a trim, some foils and a hair wash is ludicrous. These hair design students are under the watchful tutelage of their instructor and do a bang-up job! Yes, it may take more time than you are used to but you have to decide your priority — time or money. Suck it up and book for early on a day off!
