I’ve been here a few times with friends for themed B-day parties. Best when you’re in a large group with friends as being alone or with another person in this rather otherwise sad atmosphere makes one feel like an emo zombie. The other patrons remind me of those sad people in Vegas tied to a slot machine. When I was there for parties I had an awesome time. The prices are fair and the staff are really friendly.

Kinda a gambler… Kind of a nut too, when I know I could win some cash!!! a little confusing the first time and definitely really fast paced. Go with a friend or two but try not to interupt the concentration of your friends as you need to pay attention!.. A really good informal date place too.

Went for my first time of BINGO a little intimidated, but left here feeling like a pro. This place rocks. The staff and clientele live up to their sweet heart reputation as mentioned in other Unilocal reviews. Tips: Bring a lucky charm to earn bonus respect from the regulars. No need to wear your best outfit — sweat pants will do. They don’t sell alcohol… do what you gotta do.

BINGO! Oh how badly I wanted to be able to yell this into the crowd of people! I went her with my team from work as a «team building» activity, little did we know we would soon be obsessively competing against each other! We all frantically dabbed away as fast as we could trying to with the coveted prize but no dice! We because so obsessed when we finished our cards we went back for more and played twice as many the second time, still no dice. If I had my way I probably woulda been there all night, Bingo is crazy addictive! My Bingo obsession was easily fueled by the lure of money and super low prices to play! It’s not an activity where you can sit and chit chat but it’s still a lot of fun when your in good company. PS: Buy your dabbers at the store next store, they’re way cheaper!

I haven’t played BINGO for so long. This place is a fun and inexpensive way to spend a few hours. I went with a group of friends, none of us BINGO gurus. everybody was so sweet and helpful. I found the place a bit smokey and run down. Also, the person calling out the BINGO numbers wasn’t as enthusiastic. Is this the norm? Unfortunately, I didn’t get any BINGOs, but I’ll be back Planet Bingo!

Cheap, affordable and fun! If you’re thinking of something to do with friends one night and you’re stumped, Planet Bingo is a great option. It definitely offers a unique experience.(See Robin M. and Cydni H.‘s reviews). The crowd is highly senior and First Nations with a bunch of randoms from all walks of life! We were a table of random newbs. The regulars were extremely helpful in guiding us with how the game works. While we played 1 sheet each, the regulars next to us played 12 sheets each! Impressive. What’s more: — Costs $ 8−10/Round. Includes 12 games + 3 cards/game, a bonus round and about 50 mins of play. — A gaming alternative to: Commodore Billiards, Edgewater Casino, Rev’s Bowling, Guilt & Co Tips: — Ask the staff to organize your sheets for you when you purchase them! — Be quiet and pay attention! The numbers are called out relatively quickly.

Don’t let the lingering bluish haze of cigarette smoke outside the entrance deter you — once you go through the doors of Planet Bingo you will find the friendliest, most helpful, most hilarious, and definitely the most unique characters you’re likely to encounter on any given Vancouver night. A cheap and mostly pretty fantastic way to spend a few hours, playing a couple of games of bingo with this crowd is a super sweet experience. The regulars — who somehow have at least 5 or 6 cards going at once, both hands holding dabbers and rubbing a lucky charm during downtime — are ever kind and concerned with how the new-comers are doing. Without fail, if one of us rookies looks a bit lost, some eager bingo pro will swoop in to explain. Also: don’t have your own dabber? Not to worry. The 24-hour shop next-door has your back: their main, and most prominently featured product, is the bingo dabber. Shelves upon shelves of bingo dabbers.

This can be a great place to while away an afternoon. If you tell the employees that you’re new, they’ll explain the cards and games to you and make sure you don’t get in over your head. A lot of the games can be complicated, but there are TV screens EVERYWHERE that display what’s required for a winning card. The clientele has always been beyond friendly to us when we’ve gone, like they’re thrilled that someone else wants to play the game they love. Everyone I’ve sat near has been helpful in making sure I’m playing the right card and know what the game is. The food is greasy bingo hall food, but cheap and fairly plentiful for what you get. I had the bacon cheeseburger and fries for $ 7. Overall a fun time. I’ll be back.

Came here as the first installment of a date-adventure and we had a blast. The staff were über helpful and gave us VIP treatment(high life, baby!). We sat next to an older lady in a sea of older ladies who kept looking up at us to see if we were ok. She’d check over our cards to comfirm. Sweet gal. I overzealously tried to play 3 cards at once. Not a smart move for an amateur. Funny/fun though. We didn’t win any money but had a good time. 40 minutes well spent. They gave us free dabbers too! Hmm. What to do with free dabbers?

Under the B: Bingo! Being a large fan of the Bingo for Life event at Celebrities, I decided to try out some ‘real’ bingo for my birthday party. A friend had been to Planet Bingo before and highly recommended it be the venue we go to. Under the I: Interior! With three floors available, you definitely have your choice of seating. It is cash only, with an ATM available on the second floor. Each of the ‘special’ games are $.50/sheet and so 5 games only cost us $ 2.50. We could only handle one sheet at a time but there didn’t look to be a limit as to how many you could buy. The cashier was super helpful and outlined what games we would be playing and even quickly brought us pamphlets that went over the patterns we were going to look for and the game schedule. Amazing. We had to laugh when we enquired about what the second floor was like, and we were told that it was quieter. This compared to the dead quiet first floor we were currently on… Under the N: Nom nom! The ‘café’ on the first floor has your typical burger/fries options and my friend raved about her grilled cheese and fries. I had an apple juice and was pleased to see that it was cheaper than the pop. Bingo daubers are available for purchase here, though they’re also easily available at dollar stores. Under the G: Games! Numbers are definitely called quickly, but just in case you get confused, you get the full ‘N-three-three’ repeat and they’re show on TVs all around the rooms. We found that bingo’s were called very quickly and while it may look like you’re not playing against many people, keep in mind that all three floors are playing the same game. Computerized bingo terminals are available on the different floors and if you’re looking for a(lazier) easier way to play, you just have to hit a button and it highlights the called number on your cards for you. Payouts for regular games are ~$ 60, which is excellent, considering you’ve paid $.50 for the game. Definitely beats the awkward prizes at Bingo for Life. Under the O: Overall! For a cheap and highly entertaining night, I would recommend checking Planet Bingo out. Their website outlines all of the games and they offer tutorials to ensure you know what you’re doing. Though if you want somewhere that goes crazy when O69 is called and things are done at a slower pace, check out Bingo for Life at Celebrities on Wednesdays!

Our birthday party group had made reservations, so we got the whole of the third floor to ourselves! The staff were very helpful, introducing a bunch of bingo-ignorant Gen Xers to the subtleties of the game. As the first round started, the silence of concentration was palpable… Two members of our party won($ 40 and $ 120 respectively), and the whole gang had a fun evening. Would love to have been able to order a beer, but alas… We kept our bingo daubers for the next time we venture out for a walk on the wild side!

THE Bingo hot spot for the typically mild mannered enthusiasts out there. Chalk full of people who live out most of their livelihood waiting for the statistical probability that they will eventually get Bingo, many choose to buy up to ten sheets per draw, and have half a dozen bingo stampers each in case the other five run out. The cloudy haze out front is the enormous group of cigarette addicts who used to enjoy the glass encased smoking section inside,(it took up most of the room), but who now irritably shuffle in and out between games to wheezily get their fix. All in all, Planet Bingo is a cheap way to fulfill the novelty of playing Bingo in a large group setting, and the bare walls, hotdogs and competitive senior citizens all add to that authentic feel.
