This restaurant is great place for families and friends. The whole idea of this place is to relax, eat good pizza and play board games. The atmosphere is always warm being surrounded by lots of people just enjoying a simple but fun dinner. The pizza is a delicious ranging from all kinds of combinations of toppings. The most impressive thing about this place is the never ending amount of board games they have. You name it, they have it! And before you ask, yes they have the big box of cards against humanity;) The waiters here are dressed fashionable and are super nice and helpful. They are always willing to help you find board games because it’s often difficult to find them throughout the hundreds of board game boxes. Additionally the food comes out quickly so you can eat before you start playing games. This place is a great hangout place when you don’t know whay else to do. Be warned though, some nights there aren’t tables available! This place gets very busy!

Food was awesome and the service was great, all the staff were very polite and helpful. It didn’t stop there, the games available to play and the atmosphere perfectly complimented a overall great night at the restaurant. I will be returning!

Vancouver continues to puzzle me. I’ve seen multiple restaurants close shop only to be replaced by a new version of the same cuisine. Restaurants are ridiculously tough to be profitable and given the previous(better) pizzeria failed, you’re making your odds of success worse. Verace made near legit Italian pies. Heck they even had some Italian guys working there. If my memory recalls, they even offered board games too. So how Ludica appears to be more successful is beyond me. I was meeting my boss before a game and out of location came here. After I was given a table I was kind of forgotten about and I grabbed menus myself before a server noticed me. My boss wanted a red wine and after bringing my beer she said they were out of all red wine. What? That’s a 1st. Ordered a Margherita and Capicollo e Funghi. What arrived was a head shaker. The crust was way off base. Borderline microwaved texture. Toppings were low quality. You know it’d bad when I don’t asked it to be packed up. Honestly I’ve had better pizza from by the slice joints. From a business perspective the board game thing isn’t really a sound model as you can’t turn tables as frequently plus the larger tables limit seating capacity. But they appear busy on a regular basis so Vancouver, once again, you puzzle me.

It’s tough to get in here without reservations, but when you do it’s lots of fun and the pizzas are above average. It’s the closest thing to a Snakes & Lattes(board game café in Toronto) here in Vancouver with a huge selection of games. Staff are super friendly and will help with both game selection and rule clarification. I hope they are able to expand or open another location someday!

Ever since the Fray on Fraser closed I’ve been looking for a fun games restaurant and Ludica has really come into its own lately. Tons of games, friendly service and the pizza is really yummy. I definitely recommend it and plan to go back tons!

Fun times while eating! The space is smaller than I expected. Reservations are highly recommended on the weekend. We had tried to go the week before, but when we tried to make a reservation on Friday for Sunday, they had already been booked up. So we made this reservation a week in advance for the next Sunday. They have a menu with a variety of pizza and pastas. Prices for these entrees ranged from $ 12 – 16. I also considered getting a salad for $ 6 – 7 but decided to just share pizzas and pastas with everyone. There is a designated gamemaster working, and they can give recommendations and guidance for games. We told them we wanted an easy, fun party game all 7 and she gave us a few recommendations. We ended up having a lot of fun — but I didn’t find the food all that amazing. The pizzas and pastas were both okay. We tried the Greek pizza, Italian Sausage pizza, Montréal pizza, carbonara pasta, and spaghetti bolognese with 2 meatballs. Note that for birthdays, if you bring a cake, they will charge $ 1 per head. However, they did not tell us of this policy before serving and said that they would let this slide one time for us. For the value of playing their board games while eating a reasonably priced pizza or pasta, it’s not bad. I would come back again. But don’t expect the best pizza and pasta ever. It’s still a lot of fun though!

This is one of my favorite places. Everyone is always nice. They aren’t pretentious like I’ve experienced at another Gamer restaurant. The décor is simple. I highly recommend you make a reservation or you could be waiting a long time for a table. This place is just great to sit down, meet friends and have fun.

I went to Ludica for a birthday party(about 15 people), on a Monday evening. A reservation was made, but the restaurant did not plan their staff accordingly. We had 1 server for the whole table(fine, it happens), and 1 other server for the rest of the restaurant(which was pretty steady). The birthday party arrived in spurts; the first 5 people at the table were given drinks, but she did not take another order until the whole party arrived. It took 30 minutes before she offered to bring anyone else a drink(more drinks = more money = bigger tip, right?). It then took another 20 minutes at least before any food orders were taken. While I understand that the idea of slower service is probably ideal to give customers time to play their board games, nobody at our table wanted to play anything because we were all so busy with conversation. I think she could have made this observation and sped things up. After my first glass of wine was finished, I was not offered another, so we all went elsewhere to have a few more drinks each. A tip of 15% was automatically added to our order naturally, but I don’t feel it was deserved. There were no apologies made for the slow service, or lack of staff. I would’ve had a completely different attitude about the situation if they had acknowledged their short-comings. It took almost an hour and a half for food to arrive from the time I sat down. 4 stars for the other time I went with my boyfriend and another couple. This place is definitely more appropriate for small groups.

Slam dunk. What more do you want than pizza, beer and board games at a reasonable price with excellent service? That does it for me. The quality of food is great and the price exceptional given the atmosphere and location. The games are great, but better is the full-service, board game advice. Great game recommendations and great food with well-priced glasses of wine & pints. Kids friendly, yet ultra adult friendly. A no-brainer. We’ll be back for sure.

I came here for lunch with some of my friends on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised! The wall of board games is absolutely amazing! They have great huge family style tables that are perfect for accommodating your food and your game. The pizza we ordered was very tasty, had great toppings and the staff was very helpful! We have a family of 11 total, and I can’t wait to bring them all here for dinner!

Epic! So, if you can’t tell by the pictures, the places does pizza, pasta, wings etc but they have board games! I think it really brings out the kid in you! We went to Ludica on Wednesday, there were 4 of us. We walked in and got a table and picked from the huge selection of games! We got«Sorry» and«Life». The beer was bearable(we were just excited for the games but I really think, they need to step up their game on the beers). We ordered and played the game of «Sorry». Somewhere along the game we ordered the pizza’s and ate them. LOL. I’d give the pizza’s a 7/10, good but not great. I think overall, the place has a great atmosphere, lot of people yelling in frustration or joy! good place to get together with friends and have a few bites to eat! Defiantly would recommend for a great time! Oh almost forgot, on Wednesday’s the winner of the game get’s their meal for free! And guess WHAT! WEWON! So, they actually gave us one of the pizza’s for free!

A good place to hang out with friends, they offer a wide selection of board games and you sure will have a great time in the presence of your company. Food was above average, we got the settlers pizza, seafood pasta and the puttanesca. I was just hoping that they had freshly grinded pepper and parmesan, and it would have given an up to the flavors of the food they served. Service was amazing, they were friendly but not too in your face friendly, They are even knowledgeable about the boardgames. Interior design is unique and ambience is cozy,

Just barely. By itself, not too shabby but after diving into the Novo, Fabrika., and Barbarella, PL doesn’t even come close. For the area, no doubt a much needed resto to spruce up the diversity: too many Asian restaurants haha. And a great place for big groups, still the same nice ambience as previous pizza biz. My preferred choice on Canucks nights if get in early enough.

Great place to have fun with friends! We can spend the whole night eating and playing! Here are some good things about Ludica: — Good location where it’s not hard to find parking on the street; — awesome staff! They are always in a good mood and cheering up people. They are great in explaining people how to play the games and they even help them to coordinate the games; — The winner of the table can get free dessert! Yay! — Very good pizza and drinks. The pizza is usually enough for people. My favorite is Hawaiian. — Very fair price for such a fun place; — they have hundreds and hundreds of board games. They are always new and never missing one single piece.

It’s like hanging out at home, except you don’t have to cook or clean up. I’ve never had a bad experience there; their staff is knowledgeable, and always recommends the best games, no matter what our skill levels are. Board game to me was always«Bang» and«Jenga,» but they have introduced us to some quick and fun games since then. The food is expensive, delicious, and comes in a huge portion. NOTE: they have a huge brick oven, which makes the place boiling hot. Dress accordingly.

Came by for some pizza and board game goodness. Considering how empty the previous incarnation(Verace) was, this is a smart way to keep the seats filled. Parking is available underground, but it isn’t free. Not sure where else one can park, as the street parking here is completely awful. My friends parked several blocks away. Staff are quite friendly and mostly professional, even though something not so good happened. Read below. The food overall is quite decent. The pizzas here are Neopolitan style. It’s not as good as Novo, but holds its own. Most importantly, the pizza wasn’t soggy(wet) in the middle, which is a common issue with this type of pizza. They also have pasta dishes available, though I didn’t try. The only thing that was a bit off was that for some reason we were charged for more drinks than we had consumed(the server insisted we had 9, but we could only count 7). I suspect certain drinks had been double-counted as we had changed tables a couple of times. Unfortunately, our case fell on deaf ears. Hence the 3 instead of 4 stars.

This place is a great spot to go with a group of friends! It’s a two minute walk from Stadium sky train station(Gotta love convenience) so everyone can grab a beer and not have to worry about driving! I came here with three other friends on a Friday for lunch at around 1pm, and all their house pizzas and pastas were on special for $ 11! The size of these pizzas is more than enough for one person, but since we were all in YOLO type moods we were able to finish an entire pizza EACH. However you can definitely share one between two people easily and save a little extra money. I ordered the Carcassonne pizza(originally $ 14) that came with chicken, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted garlic, feta, and mozzarella. I’m a HUGE fan of feta and sun-dried tomatoes so this was pizza was perfect for me. The crust was thin and crunchy just the way I like it! Load on the hot sauce! After eating we also tried random board games that were sorted by difficulty. If you need help, the owner(I think it was the owner?) can actually help you out. I saw that he stopped at multiple tables and seemed to be knowledgeable of the rules and different strategies involved in each game! I’m very impressed by this! It wasn’t busy so we weren’t pressured to get kicked out in case there was a line of people waiting for tables. We literally had lunch and hung out playing games for three hours and didn’t have to feel bad about it! I can’t get enough of this place. I’ll definitely be back :)
