We tried the fried rice, xiao long bao and beef roll. I was told i make better fried rice tasting it last. I couldnt believe it. Tried it and it was terrible. Xiao long bao was decent but i can find freezer bought russian or polish dumplings at whole foods that taste as good. Beef roll i was really excited about from what i heard. It was cooked very well but nothing like i expected. It tasted sweet like candy. I wanted meat not dessert. I left half the plate for the server. 3 strikes on food… health inspector issues… why do i go back? A final parting gift after eating. No credit cards accepted, no american debit cards, had to go on a hunt for paper money leaving everyone at the table. Good times.

My husband and I ordered beef roll, noodle dish, and eggplant dish. I am not a noodle lover so I was not so impressed about their noodle, but my husband said the noodle is chewier than other restaurants. Sizzling noodle sauce was good; little bit of spiciness and vinegary. If you are a meet lover, get a beef roll. Outside of beef roll is crispy and inside is chewy. Eggplant dish was tooooo oily even though I understand eggplants soak lots of oil so you need a lot of oil when you cook them. it was just too much.

Excellent chinese food. We had three dishes, all had unique flavors, and were made of fresh ingredients. I would highly recommend this place, and on my return to Seattle, I can only hope I can find a place like this near home. Note for Americans: It’s cash only

It’s rare for me to give 5 star reviews. It has to be a combination of great food, quality and flavour. More importantly the service. Service — staff are attentive and polite and they take care of their customers in a very good professional manner. Which makes the food taste that much better. Xiao long bao XLB’s nice and juicy 4 stars Veggie dumplings pan fried 4 stars Chive stuffed pancakes and beef rolls all equally good as the first two dishes. Plus it was featured on DD&D. Triple D’s I just wish I could have ordered the tea smoked duck. It’s to die for!

PLEASEDONOTEATHERE. See the inspection report: My favourite line: * Conditions on premises may lead to harbouring/breeding of pests.* How can a place so well reviewed be so lax on sanitation?!

I came in an hour before closing. After a 10 hour school day, mama needed some nutrients so she could focus on her television shows. And I ask, what is more satisfying than some bomb-ass xiao long baos? So I order the damn dumplings and some Xi’an cold steamed noodles. Fast forward 25 minutes, the waiter comes back and delivers the food with an apology for the medium-long wait. I am ecstatic and nothing matters but the mother fucking dumplings at this point. I get to the skytrain and I literally, literally, could not wait to get home before eating. I open the box and a puff of steam comes out. I’m beyond aroused and not worrying about how hot the dumplings may be so I pop one in my mouth. As expected, it was hot. I chewed, waiting for the juice explosion to happen. It didn’t. Slightly disappointed, like when you trim your pubes before a hook up and the hook up sort of sucks so you’re like«um, okay.» But whatever, the dumplings are super labour intensive and this one probably burst in the box. So I pop another one in my mouth enthusiastically. I chew and nothing happens. I sort of burned my tongue but WHERE. IS. THE. SOUP? I’m annoyed at this point because I’ve had some pretty awful XLBs but at least they usually contain at least a bit of juice! Injustice. I’m on the train, contemplating starting a war with Peaceful Restaurant. Anyway, I get home and eat the rest of it regardless. The xi’an noodles were great. A good texture and just enough spice. I’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and say the dumplings all burst when they were packing them to go. It’s my first time here and I’ve only ever heard good things about them, PLUS the cold noodles were good so there was redemption. I will dine in next time. And there better be juice in my xiao long baos.

Best Dan Dan mien ever! I have tasted abundant noodle dishes in SF and LA where chinese cuisine reigns supreme, but for some reason, my favorite dan dan noodles are from peaceful! the texture of the noodles are amazing-thick, chewy, al dente. You have a choice of their regular long noodles or even knife cut noodles. Sauce can get a bit too salty, but definitely flavorful and a kick of spicy. the blanched spinach helps with the salt. I think about this noodle everyday! they have other noodle dishes I have yet to try! Beef rolls are also amazing but portion so small. For the same price as the noodle $ 7.95, it comes in 4 pieces. The pancake is chewy, crispy, and greasy. meat is tender and sauce is yum. Wish there was a bit more chives and veges inside.

Sunday night place was busy at almost 7pm but still some seats available. We ordered the peaceful beef rolls and the peaceful stir fried noodles and the cumin lamb noodles as we felt like a giant noodle fest. The beef rolls were a perfect blend of thinly sliced beef with some onion and hoisin sauce nestled in a thin crispy crêpe thin wrap. The noodles especially the cumin lamb were really tasty even if a bit greasy. Seafood chow mein also good mound of noodles with fish and squid and veggies. Would be a great place to frequent if only I lived in Vancouver…

Found out afterward just eating from a friend but all of their locations were closed by health inspection, not long ago. Also had a hair in the sauce, yuk. The Shanghai dumplings were all popped with no soup and the beef roll was just ok, needless to say, will not be going back. Value 2⁄5 not even cheap and no credit card Atmosphere 2⁄5 Service 1⁄5 Quality 1⁄5 6⁄20

We came to Vancouver BC on vacation. Due to the large Chinese population, we thought it a good idea to have Chinese food while we were here. Peaceful Restaurant did not disappoint. The place was full when we arrived and we had to wait almost 20 minutes for a table. While we were waiting to be seated, we examined the various dishes that were coming out. Once we were seated, the folks sitting next to us were brought out the green pepper chicken. It smelled AMAZING so we ordered that along with the Seasonal Vegetables with crispy tofu. The food came out in good time and was absolutely amazing. Will definitely be returning next time we’re here.

House-made noodles were good, fresh, but not perfect consistency. First dish was broad shaved noodles with greens and peanut, and it was really overwhelmed by peanut flavour. Server was disinterested and average. Ambience was not welcoming. Nothing was particularly memorable about the whole experience.

I know how this place has been temporarily closed here and there… VCH reports ahem. But their food is so tasty. I usually come here after running 21.1 k… I love their beef rice noodles. The food network has featured this restaurant, so it must be good!

I really enjoyed Hot and Sour soup, Beef Rolls and Dan Dan noodle from Peaceful Restaurant before. Today I came here for a Szechuan Beef Noodle($ 7.95) and the noodle was okay for me. Soup was flavourful and only had a few pickled cabbages in it. I can only taste little bit of pickles. Beef was tender and yummy. And the pieces were huge. The noodle wasn’t good. Texture of noodle was very inconsistent. Some were thick and some were thin. And then there was big chunk stuck together. I ate everything but the noodle.

So I heard that this was the place to get authentic Chinese pulled noodles. I had recently gone to China so my expectations were high. The Good: The service was great. Even though there was a line outside we didn’t have to wait long. The servers were very on top of things and since we were starving and ordered immediately the food came promptly. I was happy with their signature beef noodle soup. However it wasn’t the best I’ve had. I’ve had better in Irvine, CA and in China. The beef rolled party was tasty for a western pallet. Beef rolled in a pastry with sweet duck sauce would make most westerners happy. The Bad: Since it isn’t known for their Juicy Pork Dumplings, they were decent but not great. They didn’t come with shredded ginger which is a must and just a small dish of vinegar. The Conclusion: I’d go back if there was no line. If there’s a line I wouldn’t wait.

Honestly must say, the best Chinese food I have ever tasted/eaten. Everything was beating full of flavors and not salty ATALL !! He beef rolls are something to die for! I could live off of them! The dough is so fresh and soft. A bite into it makes your mouth salivate and water for more. The beef is so tender and the sauce compliments it very well. The Peaceful House Noodle(stir-fried) has a thick wet yet dry noodle that I could not get enough of ! So soft yet chewy and full of flavor ! Everything was sooooo good ! Squid was tender and juicy, carrots were soft and soaked up the sauce. The Tofu/Cilantro salad with Jalapeños is something that should be a definite try if you want something very light yet spicy. The tofu was hard, and chewy(in a good way) and the Jalapeño gave it a perfect kick of heat. The Lamb Meat we got. WHEREDO I START! Eating fresh, it’s absolutely my favorite! Usually, Lamb has a very strong smell and a heavy, thick taste. This lamb meat was something I could not stop eating! It’s so tender and cooked perfectly !

My stomach is hurt after so many Italian, French, Canadian and American cuisine so that I have to go back and eat my Chinese cuisine. Vencouver is fairly famous among Chinese. I don’t know why but everyone who has been here told me this is it. Also, my friend told me that this is a place to have authentic Chinese cuisine I google some websites and there was a vote showed that this place is one of the best place to enjoy Chinese food. So here I am. not impressed Location: located in a very busy neighborhood, peace seems to attract lots of customers who have been here for a long time. As the owner told me, they have been opening for 8 years. Wow Food: had the hand noodles, pork spicy blah blah, and fried tofu. I was not impressed by any of the dish. Tofu is fried but not seasoned, pork spicy dish is sour a lil bit and noodles are soft which is something I disliked when I have my noodles Service: good service but too professional to hold some ties with customers. Overall: average. I wish I could have some authentic Chinese dish here!

After reading all the reviews on Unilocal,my friend and I thought this was going to be a slam dunk nice Chinese restaurant for dinner, but it turned out to be a horrible traumatizing experience. We ordered the cumin beef sesame pancake, it was sub standard, nothing special at all. The second dish was vegetable dumpling which we wanted pan fried, the dumplings came out all burnt/black on the bottom and the filling was non-existent considering it was just veggies, we had more skin than the fillings. The third dish was just carrots, celery and rice noodle salad, how they managed to screw up this veggie cold fish is beyond comprehension. It was over super loaded with mustard spice. My friend is in the military and said it felt like tear gas that exploded inside his mouth. 3 small dishes came to $ 28 not including tip. Overall, this is the worst Chinese restaurant I’ve been to in North America. Please save your tastebuds if you know real Chinese food for better food somewhere else.
