This coffee shop is probably the only best thing of Arbutus Center other than the Dollarama. This is a hipster meets bohemian coffee shop that still manages to connect with the hood that surrounds it, the little of the social hood that exists. I had a basic latte. The customer service was very friendly and the cost was more than fair.

I like to support small businesses, so have made it a point to buy coffee from Nectar’s and not the Starbucks inside the Safeway (awesome corporate synergy, btw). Nectar’s coffee is decent, service is personal and I’m a fan of the owner’s self-​imposed uniform of arty neck scarf, denim shirt and dark-​rimmed glasses — tres chic. It’s hard to imbue much quirkiness to a place as bland and geriatric as Arbutus Village Mall, but he’s doing his part to bring it. Bravo, boss man.
