Naaz Hair and Beauty Salon

A delight all the way around! My friend & I came to ask about manicures, and they were able to fit us in later that same afternoon. There is only one manicure station, so be prepared to wait if you’re in a group. We didn’t mind, though; it was fun to chat with everyone there, especially the very sweet owner. Our manicurist did a fantastic job and included some nail art for free. I would go here regularly if I lived in the area!

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Naaz for over a year now. Initially I wanted to find a high quality reasonably priced studio that cut men’s hair, within walking distance of my place. What I discovered was so much more. Naaz has been in this location for 28 years, and many of her clients are life-​long friends. She is always friendly, and unless the queue is out the door, will do whatever she can to fit in drop-​by clients.
This place reminds me of the legendary gathering places we all imagine, where people gather and chat about the weather, the neighbourhood, their families and their challenges. Nawaz has branched out into pedicures, with two stations available, though I’ve never been brave enough to try this. I do know that the haircuts I get are excellent, and the stylings last for weeks (much to Naaz’s chagrin! She always greets me with «Long time no see!»).
Hastings-​Sunshine has many hidden gems; when it comes to my hair, this one appears on the crown.
