Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt – Yaletown

Delicious, reasonably healthy, clean, very friendly staff, and regularly updated seasonal flavours.

I love menchies! During my pregnancy I often came along for a frozen yogurt! I was so hard craving for it! And it’s so great, they always have different kinds of yogurts to taste! And also the girls and boys working there are friendly and I always feel very welcome! I can’t imagine a life without menchies

Team Tastic came here for a post-​dinner dessert and I made a frozen yogurt («froyo») with the following flavours ($ 8):
Blackbeard’s Neverland Chocolate Chill
Pan’s Pixie Dusted Sugar Cookie
Black Cherry Greek Yogurt
The Black Cherry Greek yogurt was to add some colour to the otherwise black-​and-​white mix. The Black Cherry came in a mauve-​y purple tone and this was full of flavour. I usually find Greek yogurt to be quite pastey and healthy but this one was really sweet. It’s a little runny though so you wouldn’t want it at the bottom of your bowl.
The Chocolate Chill was a rich chocolate flavour. I’m pretty sure Menchies normally has a chocolate flavour on rotation so nothing important was taken out for this richer chocolate taste. This wasn’t as interesting as the Sugar Cookie but it’s great for chocolate lovers.
The Sugar Cookie was an interesting flavour. If you could imagine eating the sugar crystals off a cookie, that’s the initial taste here followed by a mild cookie aftertaste. It’s a little subtle but it indeed tasted like something was dusted on top; probably more sugar rather than pixie dust, but overall a cool flavour and could replace the need for adding cookie dough toppings (though I never say not to cookie dough!).
The mango I had today was a little crunchy and sour. It could have been a little riper. Otherwise the nanaimo bar and chocolate caramels tasted as advertised.

Woohoo! Glad to finally have a froyo place in this hood. The place is clean and open until 11pm. They don’t have as many toppings as some other locations — I’m looking at you, delicious little popper ball things (they only have the strawberry flavour). But that’s ok because they do have mochi. Thumbs up.

If my memory serves me correctly, this location used to be an Opa. It’s somewhat hidden in between a JJ Bean and a clothing store.
Everything is pretty much similar to a typical Menchie’s, but it’s definitely smaller than the locations on Cambie and in Burnaby. A lot less seating inside. But your still get your awesome options for froyos and toppings.
Nevertheless, everything is quite clean and service is friendly. I’ll definitely be coming here more often to get my froyo fix.
