Lilianne’s Bridal

I am new to Vancouver and had to get my wedding dress altered last minute. I originally went to someone that an officemate had recommended. It was a terrible experience. I had only 3 weeks left and found Lilianne on Unilocal.She did everything I needed, was extremely sweet and saved the day! My dress was great and everything worked out perfectly.

Lilianne took my very unique, albeit fragile, 1950’s vintage drop-​waist dress and had it fitting perfectly within less than a week. (Unfortunately (?), I lost an inch or so a couple weeks later for my actual wedding and the dress was a little too loose around the waist, which is no fault of Lilianne’s.) I was so pleased with her amazing turnaround rate and her very reasonable pricing that we also put my mom’s dresses, my grandmother’s gown, my reception dress and my brother’s suit into her very capable hands. Since then I’ve been singing Lilianne’s praises and passing out her business cards as if they’re some sort of trade secret. She’s definitely a gem in the Vancouver wedding industry– would not hesitate to recommend her over and over again!
P. S. But in true Asian business fashion, she takes cash only, folks! A small inconvenience, really, (even for someone like me who hardly carries cash) when you think about the level of service and workmanship you’re getting!

Lilianne is SO nice, and very cool and friendly. She knows her stuff, and the price is right. Don’t get overpriced Bridal Salon alterations, go to her, she’s half price. Just a little hole in the wall on West Broadway, but who cares. Got my bustle, and my hemming done for half the price of a Bridal Salon, and she told me to drop off the dress 3 days before the wedding so I can get it steamed. Highly recommended! She only accepts cash or cheque.

Lilianne is the sweetest lady! Got my wedding dress altered here just couple of weeks prior to the big day. She did a splendid job I must say, the hems were all very neatly done, I got the sides of the dress taken in as it was loose for me, she also enlightened me with things that I didn’t know about wedding dress during the fitting session. The cost of the alteration is reasonable too!
She is a lovely person with professional attitude with a personal touch. Definitely look her up if you need any clothing alteration done!

Lilianne is probably the sweetest lady you will ever come across.
She came highly recommended by my friend, my friend was a bridesmaid for a wedding and the whole wedding party went there for alterations. I brought my wedding gown and my mother’s gown to Lilianne’s after visiting Kerrisdale Custom Tailor’s and the outrageous price they quoted ($ 200 for hem alteration for my mother’s gown).
Lilianne is super fast and efficient — you can tell that she knows exactly what she is doing. She made some suggestions to me and also pointed out that my bridal sash color was off compared to my gown and offered to change the sash to the correct color.
My wedding gown alteration was just under $ 120 — I had to take some bust in as well as lots of hemming (I am short).
My mother’s gown was just $ 75! $ 75 compared to Kerrisdale Tailor’s $ 200 quote!
I am so glad we went to Lilianne’s and I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone. She sells bridal gowns and she is able to do custom design gowns too.
Will be back in the future, this is a must go place for all future brides. The store is not luxurious but don’t judge a book by its cover — you’re in good hands here.

My friend brought in a lace shawl for alteration and after 3 months and 2 appt cancellations by the business, they still didn’t have the alteration completed. It wasn’t until the 3^rd appt that we found out the alteration still hadn’t been done but she’d whip it up in an hour .
This is frustrating to say the least especially since it’s not a complicated alteration.
The only redeeming factor is that the owner is nice.
If you come here be firm about when you need your item back and if they don’t commit then be prepared for delay.

I would honestly give this shop and Lilianne 10 stars if I could. As an out of town client, she went above and beyond to work with me, meeting me late in the evening for my first fitting for my wedding dress, and completing the alterations in a minimal (seriously practically record) amount of time. I am beyond happy with the amazing job that was done on my dress, and would 100% recommend this shop and the awesome and talented people in it to anyone looking for wedding dress or bridal party alterations. The rates are better than reasonable, and the work is absolutely top quality!

Came in today to get my horrible fitting Halloween costume altered. Got it back same day and now it looks great!

I decided to dress up for Halloween this year but the sizing for my costume is weird (like always). And liliannes bridal fixed it up within the day! Awesome. Will be back again.

After seeing a bride cry during her alterations appointment at bello wedding, I knew I had to find somewhere else to get my wedding dress altered. I read many reviews on Unilocal of many alteration tailors but upon stumbling across Lilianne’s and calling her to get a quote I felt she was sincere and helpful. She gave me a general idea of what it would cost and the time it would take for her to complete over the phone and I was convinced enough to go see her with my dress.
Her location could be easily missed amongst the row of «outdoorsy stores» along the Broadway corridor, and it’s not really like the prettied up bridal stores you see in New Westminster, however the attention to detail, courtesy, genuine care and professionalism that Lilianne provides is undeniably top notch.
My dress wasn’t complex, she knew exactly the alterations that were needed (shortening the dress, adding a bustle, sewing in bra cups and even fixing a tear caused by the other wedding store who left a pin in my dress). She gave me a price for the work, setup my next fitting appointment and had it done on time.
She is fair in what she charges, and the quality in the sewing job was to perfection.
Fyi: Payment is by cash or cheque.
Without a doubt, I am a happy bride that left her store beyond happy and would highly recommend her and go back to Lilanne’s bridal salon in the future.

Lilianne’s Bridal gets 5 stars from me, not for the store’s décor or broad inventory, but because the owner is fantastic to deal with. She is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, offers fair prices on gown alterations and is willing to go out of her way to order inventory of a particular item if she doesn’t have it in stock.
This store is not swank inside or out; I’ve probably driven by it a million times and never noticed it before.
I’m writing this post to help other brides save A LOT of money and to reassure them that this little Vietnamese woman is someone you should consider as an alternative to pricy gown shops for alterations.
I myself was in a hurry to get a gown altered and paid an outrageous amount of money at a gown shop to have the alterations completed on time. A week later, I discovered this little gem of a shop. If I had only found her sooner… I’m still kicking myself.
I did not have a chance to get my dress altered here but I definitely would consider coming back in the future. Her prices are less than half of what your standard bridal shop charges, so give her a try! She is altering a veil for me for $ 10 though — I pick it up today.

Lilianne’s is an interesting establishment.
The first thing to know is that she will rarely answer the phone or even be there at normal hours when you show up.
But if you can manage to get her attention, she will be very helpful and give very good prices and service on alterations. She also has lots of odds & ends for sale, like silver do-​dads for the hair, etc.
