What to expect at your first visit to the periodontist as a twenty-​something-​year-​old? Everyone in the waiting room will be a minimum of 40 years older than you. And if you don’t feel bad enough already, the Dr. will tell you that you have the «gums of a 60-​year-​old» gee… thanks.
Dr. Leung scraped some of the gum off the roof of my mouth and stitched it to the top of my receding gum line. The whole concept of it was gross, however he did a good technical job, as the graft healed quickly and I was able to eat normal food within 24 hours. He wanted to do the procedure on 2 more spots after the initial one healed (at around $ 400 a pop), but I got a second opinion and found out it wasn’t really necessary.
Overall the experience was fine and the surgery was well done, but in the future I would probably go somewhere else.
