Kent has framed a number of various kinds of paintings for me. I keep going back because I have been delighted with the professionalism, reliabiity and flair he and his staff display and the suggestions drawn from his considerable experience in framing and media more generally. His studio is already spacious enough to be able to focus on the item in question without distraction but it is going to be expanded even further. He is obviously most anxious to please his customers and is very personable in his dealings.

Kent Southwell came to my apartment and helped me re-​hang approximately 35 pieces of art on my walls. it was not an easy job, but it was some of the best money i ever spent on my apartment. i have an open space apartment with a very long feature wall. he helped me edit a large collection of art and gave sensitive and thoughtful advice. he also took two of my pieces away to re-​frame. they came back much improved. Kent arrived on time, worked efficiently and stuck to his quoted price. the job took two days and as i said earlier, was money well-​spent. i could never have done the job by myself and the apartment and the collection looks 100% better. i highly recommend this young man. he is an excellent framer, an artist in his own right and has a great eye.

Frame shops are in the same category as dry cleaners, corner stores, and butchers… every neighbourhood needs one. KENT Picture Framing is on the border between False Creek and Kits, and it was really needed in this area. Kent, the owner/​operator, has more than ten years of experience and is really creative when it comes to matting, framing, and mounting options. I have had two pieces framed by Kent and was thoroughly satisfied with the price and product. I also appreciated how Kent took the time to run through all of the options available to me. Outstanding customer service!

I showed up here with a little hesitation because I thought what I wanted framed was kind of stupid. Kent thought it was great idea and I left it with him. Some of the details he picked up on that I never would have thought of: the matte matches the old paper (it’s an ad from 1942); there is a fine second black border between the ad and the matte so the thing really pops. I had a great time and the price was fantastic.
