Came here for Mint tea and to work on my art piece after my work out at the FW on the top floor.

Recent find near my job. This place is just fantastic. Girl serving me was polite and chatty. Espresso shot she pulled was fantastic. Place was clean and spacious. I haven’t tried their baked goods yet but all look amazing. Coming back here for sure.

Get the Orient Express! So refreshing and unlike anything I’ve had. Don’t get confused because they share space with Freshii(I think they sell sandwiches), but we were here to get a smoothie. Orient Express($ 4.95 for 20oz) We randomly chose a drink, and it happened to be the Orient Express(pear, lychee, matcha, green tea, non fat yogurt). The combination of pear and lychee flavor was unique(in a good way). If i were to go back, I would most definitely get the Orient Express again. In fact, in the SAME day(Sunday), I went back to get it again, but they close at 2pm on Sundays. Darn! Chocolate Quinoa Bar($ 1.95) This isn’t so much of a bar as it is bite-sized. However, it tastes healthy and«nutty». I was a little disappointed on how small it actually is(even though you can see if through the window when you’re choosing what you want to eat, so I guess that’s my fault). Nonetheless, it was a nice and healthy snack on the run.

Very nice presentation and service. The americano is nice but I prefer a stronger/bolder taste.

Decent little coffee shop. Very close to me, sort of hidden and usually quiet. Coffee is good(Americanos and Spanish lattes are even better) and they have a fireplace too, for the cold days.

Because Juan De Fuca Coffee shares the building with Freshii I wasn’t sure what I would think of it. Not to say that Freshii isn’t good(I haven’t ate there) but it just doesn’t set a business up for that cozy coffee shop feel. Once you get past the counter it is a separate entity though, with modern furniture, a flat screen TV, a gas fireplace, coffee makers for sale and urban lights, rather than the cafeteria theme of Freshii. The windows span from the floor up to about 10 feet so there is plenty of natural light despite being underneath another building. The only thing that doesn’t necessarily fit is the rustic wood table and the guitar and mic in the corner — I learned that they host open mic nights though. I’ve been to Juan De Fuca Coffee five times and usually I’m the only one sitting down with my laptop(they have WIFI) or a book, an Americano and a Hazelnut Delight. The Americanos are good — 2 shots in the small and 4 shots in the«Big Juan» and are fairly priced. Because I haven’t tried a latté, I haven’t been able to judge their true barista skills by seeing their latté art. I always opt for the Hazelnut Delight because it’s like a Ferrero Rocher in the middle, with crunchy pieces of hazelnut amidst the chocolate. Plus it’s sprinkled with hazelnuts and is delightful warmed up — standard practice for the staff, but some heat it up longer than others making the pastry extra flaky and the inside warm. Eventually I’ll try something else, including their delicious looking smoothies. Fortunately I live only a few blocks away! The staff is friendly, the music is random, it’s neat and tidy, I have my favorite pairing, and they let me stay as long as I want… why wouldn’t I return?

This was my first time here and I’m very happy. I found out about this place through Social shopper and can say I will be back. I did not get a coffee but I will try it on my next visit. Their hot chocolate was fantastic, not overly sweet and they use quality ingredients. I could have had it hotter but something I can ask for the next time. While there I had a chance to sample their soft serve frozen yogurt which was equally good and the staff are helpful and friendly which is always nice to see.

Been to Juan de Fuca a few times now. The coffee is very good and gets 5 stars. You can tell they take a lot of time choosing their coffee. I haven’t tried any of their other menu items and that’s why I couldn’t give it and overall 5 stars.

Sorry for the coffee lovers out there, but as usual watching my health, so ordered the blueberry protein powder smoothie. What else can you say about this, it’s healthy, right?! Located right beside the freshii counter, same owners, under 1 roof. What’s cool is their seating area, basically a spacious living room with leather seating, fireplace & high def TV action, another great place to chill & do some people watching. Washrooms are quite clean, being new and all. So apparently their coffee is higher-end, competing with the Café Artigianno’s and such. Offer a coffee card for repeat customers.
