I had the privilege of attending Investors Group’s 2011 Comedy Tour at the Orpheum. Because it was my first time watching a stand-up comedy show live, I really didn’t know what to expect. All I can say is the two-hour entertainment featured Jim Dailakis, Ryan Hamilton, and Greg Hahn was full of(some) laughs and many moments of WTFs. Jim Dailakis, the Aussie, was the best of the three. His transition from one topic to the next had a good flow. His extensive preparation made his performance look effortless. He was very articulate and used good body gestures. I enjoyed his time on stage. Ryan Hamilton was the second performer after Jim and Ryan’s performance was choppy. There was no flow. He jumped from one subject to the next. I feel he lacked preparation and focus. Nevertheless, he was not the worst of the night. Greg Hahn was a total nightmare. Imagine a man with ADHD high on crack. Greg would be that man. He was EXTREMELY high throughout his performance. He had some good contents but the delivery was very absurd. He spoke his lines very fast and would at time abruptly scream his lines. He reminds of the uncle in the family that nobody likes but he somehow believes he is Mr. Popular. It was so bad two ladies sitting in front of me left and didn’t return. I lost count of how many WFT moments I had watching him so I dozed off. And I did fall asleep. Yup. It was that bad. Would I go again? Absolutely… only if the tickets were free.
