VERY delicious vegan food. I have tried«Nutty Coconut Parfait» and«A Coconut Dream». Both super delicious. They also have a lot of silverware which is a better option than plasticware. Though if you order to go, you will get plastic so it’s better to stay, or bring your own container for them to put into.

Indigo is a very quiet, cozy little escape from the hustle and bustle on the street above(it’s a half-story underground). When you get there, it’s not entirely clear whether you should go directly to the counter or sit down and be served. Apparently it’s the former, but you don’t pay until you’re finished. This place is pretty hardcore. They had a menu full of mostly raw dishes with some cooked vegan dishes mixed in(borscht, pierogi, etc.), as well as several Kombucha options and a fresh juice bar. I ordered the borscht soup with coconut cream on top, and was pleasantly surprised. The cream on top was really yummy and the soup came with a few flax seed crackers that complemented the dish perfectly. The raw desserts sounded good, but they were quite expensive and I was in a hurry. A great place to camp out and get some work done — this is not a «night-life» kind of place. The wi-fi here is password-protected, so you’ll need to ask.

I’ve never considered trying raw/vegan food before but luckily my vegan friend suggested that we go for lunch. Indigo is a cute little places downstairs with an open concept space where you can see the chef preparing your food. I got the Ukrainian feast that included borscht, pirogues, cabbage rolls, a drink(I chose kombucha) and a dessert(I chose lime cream pie). I have to admit, as I read the menu, nothing really jumped out at me and was like«eat me, I’m super delicious!!» however as I ate everything, I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty and flavourful it was. The only reason they didn’t get a full 5 stars was that the service was a bit slow. I get that they’re working on making everything fresh but our 1 hour lunch turned into 1 hour 45 mins.

This place has the best Acaí bowl I’ve ever had. They take pride in preparing their food and being friendly. I also had the pirogies which are one of the cooked items on the menu. Vegans, vegetarians, and even meat eaters will love this place because the food is truly great. My service was very friendly.

What a cute little gem!!! I wish we had one of these in Seattle. Then again, I’d probably be there almost every day instead of cooking at home. Their rose kombucha was DELICIOUS! As was the raw, vegan pizza. It was exactly what we were looking for. I loved the assortment of reading material, art, and music. The interior was quite cozy and I would have loved to try more of their offerings.

I absolutely adore this place! The day I found this gem, I was hooked. They have incredibly delicious vegan food that is to die for. I’ve tried nearly half of everything on the menu, some of it I wasn’t too big of a fan of, others I absolutely loved. It all comes down to personal preference as some of the things I didn’t like, I have friends that said they loved it. There isn’t anything bland or boring about their menu! Service can be slow if you’re eating in but if you order takeout, it’s relatively quick. Staff are very friendly. Anytime I’ve come in, there has always been at least several other people there. I don’t miss animal product based foods when I eat here. I feel so satisfied and everything is so yummy that it makes me feel great. Some of my favourite things from Indigo Age Café: Pirogues(non raw) — These are an absolute MUST try!!! They are some of the most delicious pirogues I have ever had, and I grew up eating a lot of Ukrainian cuisine. My fiancé wasn’t aware of the fact that these pirogues were vegan, and he said they were some of the best he has tried. The look on his face when I told them they were vegan= priceless. They are incredibly good and filling. Acai Sunrise Bowl– This is a breakfast favourite for me. It’s filling, energizing and super delicious. If you order it to go, it comes in a convenient to go container that is great for the office. If you order this in the restaurant, it comes in a martini type glass and looks oh so glamorous. Spring Rolls– So so good! They’re great if you want a light(but filling) lunch or dinner. I was seriously wowed when I tried them for the first time. Everything about the spring rolls is amazing(including the peanut sauce they come with.) Definitely exceeded my expectations. Stuffed Mushrooms– YUM! These are incredible as a side dish. The delicious mushroom/guacamole combo is so tasty. I’m addicted! Lime Chipotle Upside Down Avocados– These are an incredibly delicious side dish as well. Only complaint is that one time they were made with an unripe avocado that was slightly hard and not very easy to eat. The ripe avocados are so much more delicious. Key Lime Pie– I COULDEATTHISALLDAY. I could not believe it was raw. I am so impressed with this, it’s just delicious. All of their desserts are delicious but this one is my all time favourite. Some of my friends have tried it as well and they all loved it. Juices– I’ve tried a lot of their juices and they’re really great and fresh. Awesome immune booster and just overall great for your well being. I’ve tried several other things from here, but that list is my all time favourite. I would highly recommend this place. Great business with even better food!

They changed my view of raw food. I thought raw food = salad but that was not correct! It’s a masterpiece of vegetables and spice! I see a lot of respect with the ingredients they use! Sun Portobello Burger — Gorgeous! I enjoyed the variety of texture, sauce and taste to it! This is absolutely not like those bland salad that you get from a pub! I It’s a dish that harmonizes vegetables and sauce! Coconut Mango Lassi — It has Cardamon spice(if I remember correctly) in it. It’s smooth, and the amount of spice they put is just perfect. Very good use of spice! Pumpkin Crème Bruelee– Not bad. It’s kind of like a vegan pudding. I’m tempted to get Tiramisu the next time. Ambience/Service — Very good place to nice. Good service too. Price –More on a pricier side but I was really satisfied with the quality.

We were in Vancouver for a week from San Francisco and we ate here 3 times to satisfy our raw/vegan cravings. The rise and shine juice and the burger with guacamole on it were amazing. We will be back the next time we are in town.

Nice café where everything is vegan and almost everything is raw. I got one of the rare cooked dishes the pierogi with a mix of sauerkraut and potatoes, the dish was well made and came with a cashew pesto sauce, it was really creamy but I wish there was a tang-ier sauce instead. My colleague got the burger(raw) which looked really good and colorful. Servers are very friendly and offered everybody a free tasting of one of their green smoothies. I saw the upside down avocados on a serving plate and have been dreaming about them every night since. I would come back and try those for sure! I also wish there were more carbs since I got hungry a few hours later and ate pizza :-(

I went here for lunch today. I had the açai smoothie bowl. It was delicious. Everything in the menu looked delicious. Service was great. I took a piece of key lime pie to go + it may be the best I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to go back!

this place is located in gastown a block from the ‘clock’. it is pretty hidden because you have to walk down the stairs into a cavelike café. This is family run from what I saw and they have a wide selection of raw/vegan dishes. I just came for kombucha but their brunch here looked very appealing. I also had a house made chai masala with almond milk made inhouse! Not sure if they made their own kombucha… the chai kombucha was on tap but from another brand.

Yeah great looking Vegan food, I’m not even a Vegan. It’s small but has that buzz that you can get excited about when you come into a place that’s fairly new. Vegan cakes that look as good as ones you would get at a high end hotel for dessert, nice job.

On our regular expedition of the streets of vancouver, we happen to cross this small — tuck in café… As we were hungry so thought of giving it a try. I dont like crowded places when i m tired especially after a long walk so i was glad to find it quite wid few tables occupied. To start, i used washroom which is not modern but quite clean. As i was thirsty so started looking for water which surprised me as it is self served in a transparent bottle n glasses are steel glasses that we have back in INDIA oh wow took me bach there for a min Mini juicy burger n carrot cury ginger soup were our delicacies today. Very refreshing as no strong spices but steamed carrots in soup flavoured wid ginger. It was served wid seasame cracker. Juicy burger was basically falafel on a tomato slice topped with avacado n bell peppers. Not very filling but yummy n healthy. Serving is economical. 2 quite people prepare n serve u in a quite litle place. Made me feel that i shuld try more vegan places now on.

Tried this vegan restaurant for lunch today with 2 friends. It was really good! I had the Green Sprout salad. Very fresh and good sized portion. One of my friends had the Russian Borscht with Coconut Cashew Sour Cream. It looked so yummy. Other friend had the Ukrainian Cabbage Rolls. She said they were outstanding. Lots of flavour. We used to go here when it was Gorilla Food. So happy another vegan restaurant took over. The owner is very friendly and all of their food is locally sourced. We will definitely be back!

Meet a friend here for a late lunch. Very small place with few choices to sit. There was a drippy air conditioner by one of the tables so I steered clear of that area. Had the miso seaweed soup that tasted amazing! Lots of veggies in it. Served with nice seed crackers. Friend had zucchini ‘pasta’ which also tasted great! Delicious sauce. Served fancy, healthy water, bonus! Took awhile to get serviced even though there was only one other party there. Four stars for the food only.

This place didn’t live up to the 4.5 star reviews for me. I like the idea and with some tweaking it could be great. Most tables are horribly inadequate — the stools are too high or low for the table and/or the tables wobble like mad. The air conditioner constantly leaking into the bucket on the floor is annoying at best. As for food it took a long time to get our order and it wasn’t that busy. The perogies were ok, pretty good for being vegan. The fresh addiction plate/burger was tasty and well presented. Wait staff should reconsider the food handling … texting on your phone then putting your thumb in my glass and on my plate makes me nauseous but I am pretty picky. Thankfully the gentlemen who came in without any shoes decided to get his order to go.

I was sorry to hear Gorilla Food was closing because it was always my goto place when downtown for meetings, but I’m happy to report the Indigo Age did not disappoint. Congratulations Lovena! I met a friend for lunch today and we tried the burger entrees. Both were beautifully presented, so lovely that we felt bad cutting into them. See photos! My portobello burger was very flavourful and nutritious. Guac lovers will love it! The décor is still colourful, yet calming and the staff were friendly. Indigo Age also serves kombucha on tap made by a local couple. Didn’t try it this time, but it’s on my try list for next visit, along with the west coast pizza.

Delicious food and artistry. Very impressed with all the dishes I’ve had thus far. Cabbage rolls are incredible. Vegan perogies are fabulous and I’m sure a huge hit with the vegans. I haven’t tried more dishes yet but I’m sure it’s all wonderful. This is my top place for healthy food in Vancouver right now.

I had been dragging my omnivore bf to raw food restaurants for awhile and one time(at their original location) I overheard him tell the owner’s daughter, «This is how REAL food should be – not like raw food, which is a total rip-off! Do you know what I mean?» She grinned, «Umm…this is a raw food restaurant.» To be fair, he had only ever ordered the cooked food(He said the Perogies are«the best he’s ever had – vegan or not») while sampling my orders(like the delicious Kelp Salad). Fast-forward to now: the Pesto Pizza is the best raw pizza I’ve tried anywhere. It’s layered with bright, bold flavour and loaded with kale and other veggies, and drizzled with rich cashew cream. Even the tiny side salad was thoughtfully flavoured with dill in a yummy yellow vinaigrette. You can confidently present this to anyone opposed to «health food.» It’s also super filling yet energizing. The Portobello Burger wasn’t nearly as successful. The mushrooms were too hard and flavour tasted like coconut aminos with mushrooms and an overdose of salt. I was most looking forward to the Almond Nut Cheese but had to throw it out after one bite. Not only was it unbelievably salty, but the flavour and texture was not at all like nut cheese is supposed to awesomely be.(Go to the newly opened Nut Tree Café or Graze for that.) The Key Lime Pie has great texture for a raw dessert but is just a mouthful of fluffy acidity with no sweetness. I’m convinced it must be a bad batch where someone got the ratios wrong.(It made me miss Gorilla Foods’ Lemon Avocado Pie.) The Chocolate Ganache Heart is let down by the crust. The ganache is everything you want it to be, but the crust is filled with coconut shreds which makes it too heavy and sweet on sweet. It’d be a deliciously decadent, balanced tart if it had a nut crust sans coconut(like they do so well at The Gluten Free Epicurean). I was nicely offered a sample of the Berry Cake(it’s sorbet-ish but better) and this Chocolate Bar they had at the front(good if you like cranberry paired with chocolate.) Service is friendly and accommodating(although they are understandably overextended at this early stage). Flavours are bolder, ingredients fresher, and indulgent sauces more liberally applied than other raw restaurants, which makes them the best one in Vancouver.

Lovena, the owner and chef, makes wonderful and delectable meals and treats. If you want to learn how to prepare delicious raw dishes and desserts, I highly recommend taking one of her classes. Vouchers for her classes often go on sale on Groupon /EthicalDeal and they’re well worth it! On our last visit to Indigo we tried the fruit and granola yogurt(made of coconut), a slice of key lime pie, and a sample of the kombucha. The Kombucha wasn’t overly powerful and vinegary like the typical kombucha you find in the grocery store’s bottled beverage section. Lovena’s kombucha was light, refreshing, bubbly, and slightly sweet. I’m looking forward to trying more on the menu during our next visit!

AMAZING! Had the portobello mushroom burger, and my partner had the west coast pizza. We both LOVED our food! We used to love Gorilla Foods, so we were nervous that this place had changed ownership… But we were NOT disappointed. This place is awesome! Great feel, very«hipsterish» but that’s a part of the charm! I’m not a vegan, and I LOVE this place! Don’t question it, DOIT!
