The reputation had me excited for my reservations, waiting 30 minutes before even being served wine had me worried.
No bread before the meal, even after getting wine it took quite a while to place orders for appetizers, which also took too long to come out.
Food did arrive promptly after the appetizers, and the waiter got a bit more attentive after that, I had the 8oz filet, with mashed potatoes. I felt like it should have come with some vegetables though. When the steak arrived, it was cooked perfectly and tasted great, however, my mashed potatoes were extremely cold.
I wanted dessert after, but considering how well dinner went overall (a sincere meh) I decided against it.
I would not go back, I’d go to Gotham instead. To be completely honest, I’ve had better experiences (and food) at The Keg.

Been a patron here for the better part of 30 years. this is the industry standard .a lot of places try to be like Hys. Exceptional service high quality of food and atmosphere what more could you ask for in a steak house.

We went to Hy’s because we received a gift card for Christmas. On the outside, it’s not the kind of place that we would normally go to. It’s very traditional and old school which appeals to many. Since we tried to go on a Saturday night, it was fully booked with reservations. Instead of sitting in the main dining room, we were invited to sit in the comfortable lounge area. It has comfy leather chairs, and it has full service from the restaurant area. When you order the Caesar salad, you still get table-​side service. Overall, we were highly impressed and we would definitely go back there for special occasions.

Went to Hy’s for my mom’s retirement dinner and she was very happy with the food and experience. We started off with the cheese toast as it was raved about in almost everyone’s reviews and we were not disappointed. I would definitely order that again. As for the caesar salad, it didn’t taste as amazing as everyone made it sound like. The server did make it next to us and it looked like he put a lot of effort into making it, but all I can really taste is garlic. In fact the garlic taste was so strong that many hours later, I can still taste it =/.
My family ordered the chateaubriand and the 14oz NY steak and they were both good. The sauteed mushrooms were also really good that we got extra!
Tip: Costco has buy $ 80 for $ 100 GC’s.
