The food and service were very good. The women server was informed about the food. I had eggs, toast, and fruit. It was excellent. I sat on the patio and it was enjoyable. The food came promptly.

Came here yesterday meeting a couple friends, looked like a cool spot. There was no seats fair enough,(it was dinner time) so all 4 of us sat at the bar. We literally sat there for 15 minutes while the 2 people behind the bar didn’t even acknowledge us, so we sat there empty handed like dummies forever before they finally offered us drinks or menus ! Jeez !! Anyways, they finally came… $ 11.50 for a bevy seemed a little expensive for a short-glass iced down drink. We decided to only have the one drink and asked for our bills. Way too hard to get the bartender’s attention for a second. Then ! It took the waitress 3 tries to ring through the debit machine… «Invalid server ID… Invalid server ID… Invalid server ID» UGH let me outta here !! Most likely won’t be back… Service was sucky !

This place deserves more credit than some of the reviewers give it. I live a couple blocks away and have been here lots of times. It would be my local if my heart didn’t belong to a certain spot on Davie St. The atmosphere is great, the look/feel is very west coast and every seat IN the place is comfortable. That being said, I am not a fan of their patio seating, I find it a touch cramped and traffic loud. I particularly like the comfy booth action and sitting at the bar is great for laughs with the tender, you can sports your heart out at these seats as well. The staff are always up for fun chats and great for recommending a selection from their awesome craft beer menu. The mix drinks are above board, I recommend: old fashioned(I think you pay extra for Markers Mark though) or the coastal caesar(it rocks a prawn!). The seafood appetizers are amazing, I get the Wok Squid every single time I am there. Also, if you like Yam Fries, order them here and def ask for them extra crispy. No doubt, some of the best in the city, if I ran the kitchen, you wouldn’t be able to order them non-extra crispy. The Moules-Frites are a terrific deal compared to other spots in the hood and the burgers are sure thing. The only thing to stay away from is the falafel wrap, it just doesn’t work because its too damn dry, seriously HUB you should think up a new veg/an plate to replace this one, it is tired out. Brunch is totally worth it as well. I’ve never had anything but the eggs/bennys(tight!) but I am going to try the Huevos Rancheros next time because I’ve seen them being served and it looked good. If you are brunching on a Sunday, those delicious caesars are $ 2 off!

My experience at Denman Hub was amazing. Their beer selection is outstanding. Craft beer here is nothing like I’ve ever tasted. It’s new it’s bold and has created a new way for me to enjoy beer. I’m so happy that our bar tender Angela was so knowledgeable with beer. Great service and customer service! Overall an awesome experience!

I live in the west end and have frequented Hub many times — in the past I have experienced good food, good service, good beer selection. Unfortunately the last two times have completely missed the mark. On my last visit I ordered the roasted root vegetable salad which is usually delicious — this time when it came the roasted vegetables were still raw. I appreciate that some times the kitchen has an off day. The part I found surprising is that NOONECARED — I had to convince the waitress the veg was raw(I.e. Not roasted like they should be) my options were to either wait 20 mins for it to be fixed or order something else. My dining companions ate their meals while I waited for my food which showed up when they were done. The manager was indifferent to the situation — and then they charged me full price with not even an apology. WOW. Who knew bad quality was this acceptable? I don’t think I will be going back any time soon. I sincerely hope that folks from Hub read this review and note how easy it is to lose a frequent customer.

Does this ever happen to you? Good food … good service etc, the first time you go AND then the second time … not so much. Service was friendly … appie Wok the Squid was fast, hot and delicious. The entre Yankee Burger took 40 minutes and was not the behemoth I remember. It’s a YANKEEBURGER … it’s supposed to be bigger than anybody really needs. Disappointing. Finally, I have to ask … why do I always get the nubby fries? Do restaurants talk to each other? Is my picture in the back? Seriously, if the goal is return business then you guys missed the mark.

Cozy casual but upscale as with the other Hub locations, and friendly service. They made a modified version of the drink we wanted because they lacked the right ingredients, and when we weren’t fans of the concoction, they immediately took it off our tab and replaced it with new drinks of our choice. They have prosecco on tap, and their double caesars are a great deal and delicious! Our server was extra sweet and brought me a plate with extra pickled green beans since I currently live in Los Angeles, AKA a sad sunny world without caesars or bean garnishes :( The food is consistently fresh and yummy here, such as the amazing mac and cheese, and the pazookie is not to be missed! If you want a warm freshly baked cookie in a hot iron skillet, topped with creamy dreamy ice cream, come here and bring your appetite! I’m used to the BJ’s Brewery version in California, and the cast iron skillet is such a better experience than the aluminum pizza pan — keeps the cookie warm, and doesn’t give you that icky metal-on-metal mouthfeel when you scoop with your stainless steel spoon. I know, I’m quite the skillet cookie connoisseur… There are just enough big screen TVs playing sports for you to keep an eye on your game, without feeling like you’re in a sports bar. The big booths can easily fit 6 people and are comfy enough to lounge for a while. Big, roomy, and clean washrooms are always a bonus as well.

The restaurant atmosphere is nice and it is a great looking place. The calamari is tasty and so are the garlic prawns. We have always had great service by the wait staff when we go as well. I only provided 3 stars because the food is good, but its not ground breaking or anything special that would make you say«I HAVE to go to Hub for(insert amazing food name)»…Nothing memorable and nothing on the menu that has the potential to become your new favourite dish. The menu is limited(pretty much steak, burgers, or salad) for mains. Average price per dish I would say is $ 17.00, so when you are paying that much you expect something great. The burger didn’t really blow my skirt up for that price. It is a step up from Moxies/Earls because it has a more down to earth atmosphere and décor, but a step down in regards to food. I will return to Hub again for sure, but mostly because of the location and convenience in the neighborhood.

Had friend from the island join us and was looking for a place close by the water front station to have brunch and found this new joint just on Denman Street. My entire party ordered eggs benny but i found the french toast to sound very delicious sounding! My entire party had their food delivered and I had mine come but there was no whip cream(as it said on the menu) the lady said the whip cream was being made and would arrive in a very short time… short time turned into 20 minutes. Then 20 minutes turned into 30 minutes and now my french toast is super cold. I told the waitress«to be honest its been half an hour for whip cream my entire party has already finished their food and my toast is cold. She just laugh oh heheheeheh i dont know». I finished my soggy cold french toast and low and behold some guy comes directly from grocery store holding 5 cans of whip cream. AREYOUSERIOUS? Seriously super unprofessional my meal should have been FREE I didnt even GET what i paid 14 dollars for. Terrible and would never come back the waitress didnt even give a crap.

Very good place to eat in the West End. Had the crack burger, a side of poutine, and the amazing cookie in a skillet with ice cream — great find. Server was nice, this place was a good spot to dine.

Good place for people watching and good service, but has a fairly limited menu and if you’re looking for a memorable burger experience I wouldn’t recommend this place. The Yankee Burger appears to be a pre-made Patty rather than hand formed. Good fries but overall it was just… «OK». Nice selection of craft beers but I agree with another review saying that at least one domestic should be offered as well.

Had the Yankee Burger w/fries and a side of onion rings and it totally filled the void in my stomach for many hours. This location is much smaller than their New West location and has a cozy feel to it. Arrived there around 3:30pm on a Friday and it was still quiet in there. There was more staff on hand than patrons in their which left me surprised that it took awhile to put in an drink & food order. It was weird because the couple staff members that served us were really friendly. With $ 4 Happy Hour, I’m confident I’ll be back in one of their many large booths.

There’s really nothing special about this place. It’s a good place for tourist to stop by for a bite and try local craft beers. They had a good selection of craft beers which was fantastic, the seasonal beer(Grapefruit) was really good. Food was okay, nothing noteworthy. If anything it was a little overpriced.

This restaurant is great. Definitely should receive more than 3 stars. Came here with friends who were from out of town. First off, had some of the best calamari out of tons of restaurants I’ve had calamari at in and around Vancouver. So 5 stars to you folks for that. I also had tried the shrimp which was tasty, and I also tried a few other starters with my table. All of which were good eats. For my meal, I wasn’t insanely hungry as I had a bad gut ache, so I just had a starter of the soy chilli chicken wings. They were awesome and reminded me of my Mom’s soy sauce wings which are one of my favourite food items at home. Pricing at this place is like any restaurant. Good ambiance. I almost want to give them 4 stars as the bill took a long time to get once we were done and had asked for it. But I’ll spare them this time as everything else was great. Other than my gut ache from before entering the place. Haha. Our server Laura was awesome, new manager, and seemed to genuinely love her job. She was nice and took time to explain items to us if we asked and also recommended and talked with enthusiasm. Respect. Thank you Laura. I will definitely be coming back again one day, as the burgers looked great and I have to have that calamari again.

We were tourist from the USA walking down Denman and a sign in from of The Hub caught our eye. It displayed the daily special: soup and sandwich $ 10. We stopped in and were very pleased with our decision. Food was great as was the service. The next evening we opted to return for dinner. We were geated at the door by Mike, not sure if he was the owner or manager. It was as though we were friends he was having over for dinner. He wound up sitting with us as we shared stories.(he has had quite a colorful life and was most interesting.) dinner was great, wine list was very nice and Mike treated us to dessert. Thanks, Mike. By the way, I especially loved the lobster wings! I recommend stopping in to The Hub.
