I wanted to find a place that does drycleaning in a sustainable manner and without the use of a lot of chemical. I found Helping Hand Cleaners on Cambie. They are professional and I usually take my suits and dresses to be drycleaned here. If there are any stains they have done a great job to remove it and also my clothes are pressed and super clean without harming the environment and my skin. I only wish they were open later or more days so I can get there after work. Also there is free parking at the back.

So glad I found this place after my regular dry cleaners closed shop. Dropped 10 items off the other day and got them all back quickly(within 3 days) and cleaned perfectly, all for the extremely reasonable price of $ 140. The guys who work there are friendly and professional, and even offered to help me carry all of my items back to my car. While there’s free parking in the back, there’s also street parking on W. 24th and on Cambie if you’re lucky.

Friendly, efficient and they actually clean your items and do it well. After a bad experience at another drycleaner, I gave Helping Hands a shot and was very happy with the results. They were professional and price was reasonable. Glad to have found this place in my ‘hood.

I don’t use dry cleaners often as all my clothes are washable, but I took a sleeping bag in the other day, they did a bang up job. I found them friendly and helpful, I would recommend them to anyone. They are really trying to make a difference in the dry cleaning field.

I’ve used them twice to clean several 100% wool pants and rayon-blend pants. The clothes come out very clean and odorless(no weird detergent perfumes or chemical smells). Well pressed. Service is friendly and calm. Prices are exceptional – about $ 8 to clean a pair of men’s pants, and quoted $ 20 to clean a wool overcoat, which I’ll definitely bring in. Cleaning a man’s blazer will run about $ 13. Turn-around time is usually 3 days. What would make this place over the top would be drop-off and pick-up into the evenings, but I really can’t complain as there is clearly a dedication and conscientiousness to the work as it is. Note: parking in the back is shared with other businesses and can be difficult to find and navigate. To get to the parking lot, it’s best to turn onto W 24th Ave and go into the alleyway between 24th and King Edward(25th). There is some metered street parking. They are across the street from the King Edward Canada Line Station.

These guys remain consistently solid– no problems with shrinkage or discoloration. So, why the update? They’ve added another eco-friendly feature– instead of wrapping your clean clothes in plastic, you can buy reusable canvas garment bags that work wonderfully– you can also bring in your own hangars which they will reuse, so you don’t end up with 100 wire ones you don’t want. Two very nice touches … and, according to them, in use by mayor Gregor Robertson!
