Not safe for a Celiac ! Lots of cross contamination. I did try to speak to the owner but he did not seem to care. He told me yes we have cross contamination. It does taste very good but should not be called gluten free. Only the crust is GF. I got sick and so did some others I know that have Celiac. Boy I wish they would change the laws to stop people claiming GF Status.

Hell Pizza Davie closed with zero notice at the end of January, leaving every single employee without wages, severance and a job. We have not been paid and Steve(the owner) is not talking to us. DONOT support this business practice, it is completely illegal and shameful. He refuses to pay us, period, and ignores our requests for payment. Stay away from Hell.

Hell… as in horrid Maybe it was a bad night– I had this pizza before and it was DIVINE! But last night was gross– ordered 2 pizzas for take out and the crust was bland and tasted un-fresh– very skimpy on the toppings and asparagus used were the end stalks, bitter and gross– where were the tips? just nasty The ordering process however was great. friendly and helpful So disappointed… won’t chance it again…

I never see Kiwis working in there anymore, so the service is crap now. That said, the theme is fun and the pizzas are flawless! Eating vegan, gluten-free pizza and not missing normal pizza is rare. Who knew you had to go to hell to find it!

Best pizza joint in Vancouver, hands down. They use real cheese and quality ingredients, and the toppings are quite creative. This is a premium pizza place, so don’t expect two dollar slices, but do be prepared for amazing tasting pizzas. Love the branding which applies to all the names of the pizzas and even the pizza box breaks down into a little cardboard coffin for the last piece or two.

Gluten-free pizza that tastes so good I can’t believe that it is :) Also they were kind enough to customize a pizza to be garlic-free when I asked. Tasty gluten-free cheesecake too! Highly recommended.

I write this 3 days after I’ve had Hell Pizza and my mouth is watering thinking about their vegan pizzas. I tried 2 different kinds and both were amazing. Food: The first one was the«Sinister» with vegan Daiya cheese. This pizza was a little spicy for me, but it was amazing! Beans, vegan cheese, other veggies and avocado, whats not to like?! The second was the«damned» ohhh man was this pizza good! Cashews, avocado, vegan cheese, and more. It was so good that I went back the next day and bought it again! Location: Right in Davie village, super easy to get to and theirs lots of street parking Inside: Lots of things to look at while you’re waiting for your pizza. It takes about 7 – 10 minutes to get your pizza after you order it, but the wait it totally worth it. Theres a game you can play, theres drawings on the walls and so much more. I recommend this for meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans and anyone else!

Decent pizza, love how they include the tax in the price, ordered spicy wings and wow were they spicy. Felt like I was eating ghost peppers it was that hot. Even though we did take out the service was friendly and nice.

It is truly pizza from hell… It had no flavor and it was super dry… I’ve had frozen pizza that was better than that… They are also stingy with the toppings… My pizza had 5 tiny pepperoni… I also had wings, and those were good… I do recommend those. Good wings, bad pizza.

Best gluten free and dairy free pizza I have ever had. I LOVE pizza and when I discovered I had a gluten and dairy intolerance, pizza was the first food item that I had to cut out. It was hard to give up so I went on a quest to find a decent replacement. I have tried many gluten and dairy free pizzas since and sadly all of them have been very disappointing. Thankfully Hell Pizza nailed it and I have stopped in 4 times in a month now to eat one.

We were excited to order online from them tonight, especially once we caught a peek at their menu. Sadly both pizza’s were DRY when they arrived. Crust, if you’re going to go the deep dish route, ought to be crispier on the outside. We found it very doughy and thick. It appears all the dough soaked up all our sauce as there was barely any sauce on it. Make sure you’ve got plenty of refreshments ready. Delivery was a bit slower than anticipated but driver friendly. Agree with the other reviewers about the deliver fee, does that go to the driver? I was so excited to love this neighbourhood joint, sadly I don’t think we’d ever order again.

«Meh» overall, unfortunately. The ordering experience was pleasant, the toppings were great & the sauce was quite nice, but the cheese was rubbery & the crust was nothing short of unbearable. Now, to preface my complaints about the crust, it’s worth knowing that I’m not into thin-crust pizza & I definitely don’t get the hype with that shit. Ooh, it’s so delicate, which really matters because we’re eating freaking pizza which is children’s party food. Sure, dress it up all you want, put on your finest clothes to go to a pizzeria with a big oven in the middle of its kitchen, pay $ 20 for a little pie covered in fresh basil. It’s so regional & rustic, probably! Whatever floats your boat. We can all probably agree that anything slathered in cheese tastes good but, to me, when it comes to pizza, you might as well be eating a bag of chips. In the spirit of avoiding all the preciousness that has come to be associated with thin crust, I like my pizza trashy. Unabashedly greasy. Absolutely indelicate. So sloppy that you wouldn’t even want to eat it in public, but rather at home, in the dark, with the blinds drawn, after a good cry. Chicago deep dish crust. I’m all about that shit. What? That’s not even pizza. That’s an actual pie filled with cheese & sauce & toppings. Yeah, well, it’s food that I eat when I’m drunk or hungover. Looking at the Hell Pizza’s photos, I figured we’d get along. The pizza looked like good quality stuff with gooey cheese, a crispy thick crust, & plentiful toppings. I placed my order online, was contacted by a friendly person at the restaurant to inform me that they no longer had one of the toppings I’d requested, & the pizza arrived in short order. The delivery man was very nice. The pizzas, as everyone has already pointed out, are pretty tiny for what you pay. Boo. Pizza is cheap to make. I don’t care if you top it with the finest quality Italian whatever, I should not be paying Gastown wood fired basil sprinkled prices for pizza that I have to eat in my own dirty-ass home. Either lower the prices or make those pizzas bigger, Hell Pizza — because it’s FREAKINGPIZZA. My biggest problem, & the reason why I’m not dropping money on this place again, was the crust. This was like chewing on wet, wadded up cloth. I was going to write wadded up paper, but at least there’s the hope or knowledge that you’ll actually be able to chew paper — that it’ll eventually break down into bits that can be swallowed. And yes, since you’re probably wondering, I do put a lot of weird things in my mouth. This crust was hopeless. Sitting there chewing it, I resigned myself to the possibility that it would never break down, that I’d have to chew it forever. It just rolled around in my mouth like a cannonball. All the toppings & the(sadly, rubbery) cheese had long since been swallowed, but there I was, still working on this cud of crust. To add insult to injury, the cud-crust was also a sickly ivory colour & it tasted of nothing. Even worse, I had a hangover, & all that chewing nearly reduced me to tears. So, Hell Pizza, despite your minor charms, the experience was a solid«meh.» I eventually threw all the crust ends into the trash, which made me sad because I never throw food away(I’m Ukrainian). Yes, it’s unfair that I should rate you two stars having only sampled your food once, but I can’t justify the cost just to be nice.

Dairy free cheese option is a huge plus. Gimmicky boxes and pizza names make the experience quite unique and enjoyable. Pizza with avocado and cashews? Why not! Delivery was a bit slow, even for a Friday night, but it is definitely worth the wait.

I loved their pizza, even though I haven’t had anything but thin crust in years. I placed my order online, which was super easy. Couldn’t find the thin crust option and called after placing the order to confirm. The staff was super friendly and told me that they«yet had to master the art of thin crust but are working on it.» I asked them to make my pizza crispy, which they did to perfection. The flavors were great as well. My only complaint would be that I paid extra for the olives and there were only 6 olives on my 12inch pizza. I would totally order again, minus the extra toppings. :-D

I’m sure the pizza might be good. Too bad I can’t get it to my house. More than 90 minutes since ordering, and we’ve received nothing. No follow up, no explanation — just a bill and a long wait. I called in to check on the order — and was brushed off, ignored, and told to keep waiting. Why the crap does a pizza joint supply a delivery window, if they completely ignore it? Take your money elsewhere.

I really liked this pizza. I only got pepperoni & cheese(mozza and cheddar), so it’s kind of hard to mess up, but everything was right. It’s more expensive than I’d generally pay for pizza, but that’s alright. It was good all round. There’s a really cute Aussie fella that works here. One star is out because the music playing made me feel like I was at Celebrities. This is more of a treat that I’d get than all the time pizza joint, but it’s really only because I’m cheap as fuck.

Hell Pizza is by far my favourite pizza place in Vancouver. They have so many interesting flavours. Purgatory is delicious and I also love Cursed — pickles on a pizza is pretty much the most brilliant thing ever. It’s also great because it’s vegan and gluten-free friendly with daiya and GF crust as an option. Plus, they don’t overcharge you for alternative options much like other pizza places. Their delivery fees are reasonable because there isn’t a minimum order amount before taxes. A lot of places make you pay a minimum of $ 15-$ 20 before tax and will charge a more expensive delivery fee than 3 dollars, so I think their delivery is fairer than other places. Their delivery is really fast, too, and they have some of the friendliest customer service, their staff is so incredibly nice. If you haven’t tried Hell Pizza yet, get on it STAT!

Hell Pizza sells the best pizza in New Zealand. Unique flavors, fresh ingredients, great service, pretty much the whole package. When I heard they were opening up in Vancouver in the West End(they have another location in North Van), I was so excited! Finally Vancouver would get to experience what pizza should taste like. My North American burger frustrations far exceed my pizza ones, but luckily I discovered Romer’s Burger Bar to fill that void. Hell truly lives up to its name. I seem to remember them handing out condoms as a promo item to turn people to the dark side. They also have a pretty genius promotion in-store called Pizza Roulette, where one pizza slice has the world’s hottest chili sauce all over it — but which piece is it?! Since I was eating 50% of my pizza, I decided it was not the right time for me to play this game. Next party however… Hell Pizza also provide dairy-free cheese and gluten free pizza bases! One last thing to mention is that Hell Pizza is a licensed restaurant AND they sell L&P! Waa you ask? It’s a fizzy drink in NZ, aka soda/pop, which tastes of lemony goodness. They don’t sell it openly, but if you ask for it in your best kiwi accent, they are happy to oblige. I went with Jake, and we decided to get one double pizza with two different toppings. Jakes choice– Cursed: Chicken, Bacon, Ham, Pickles, Honey Mustard & Onions, Smoked Cheddar. 2.5 star My choice — Grimm: Chicken, Spring Onion, Cream Cheese, Apricot Sauce, Rosemary & Pine Nuts. 3.5 star Grimm was a delight. The pine nuts, rosemary and the apricot sauce, which is shipped all the way from NZ by the way, complement each other so well. A really unique pizza topping that I loved. Usually I am a huge fan of cream cheese, but I thought the addition of it here was a little bit much. The pizza is already heavy so the cream cheese just took it to another level. Maybe if it was spread on the base, or mixed in with the apricot sauce instead of sitting in large chucks on the pizza, it would have been a bit better. I would recommend ordering it without. Cursed resembled the taste of a burger due to the pickles. Trust Jake to order pizza that tasted like a hamburger! I don’t hate burgers, but I don’t like pickles in my burger, so to me this pizza was ok. The honey mustard sauce was great and complemented the pickles nicely. This sauce is also from NZ! I really recommend you try this place out next time you feel like pizza. They deliver too so you really can’t say no. You don’t get the same horrible tummy turmoil eating here as you do at other pizza places. AND their takeaway box turns into a mini coffin to hold your leftover slice of pizza! Quality ingredients, friendly helpful staff! Just opened!!! I was in today at the new davie street location and coincidentally I went for the«Pride» pizza. A little spicier perhaps than the bland choices you may find elsewhere. Very tasty! I’ll be back!
