The chicken and prawn with rice was okay the flavour was a little bland but my boyfriends beef phở was delicious! The broth was perfect and the noodles were cooked just right. Would recommend getting phở here. 10% off bubble tea 3−6pm!

Got a chance to check out this place — I think menu prices have definitely gone up since some of the older reviews. A small phở goes for 8.95 and the large is 9.50, the house special is an extra fifty cents. The price is a little steep in my opinion but the place is more modern and cleaner than most phở restaurants, and service is good. The stock is a bit interesting, it’s definitely on the sweeter side(which I don’t prefer) but the noodles were cooked perfectly. Broth could be served hotter though! Good topping to noodle ratio for the large bowl of phở that I ordered!

Clean, cozy, and run by a wonderful family. I went here for the first time today and ordered a large phở… it was perfection. It was rich and flavourful, without that heavy MSG flavour and smell that hangs out in your mouth and hair long after you’ve left the restaurant. The broth tasted clean and fresh. Great portion size for the price! My boyfriend had a dry noodle with lemongrass chicken, and that looked delicious as well… also very generous portion! I will definitely be back to try their shaved ice desserts. It’s a smaller restaurant, but it has a very clean and comfortable vibe. We came closer to closing, so there were only a couple tables filled. Service was super friendly and attentive… something our usual phở joints lack in. Free parking can be found a few blocks away on 1st and Pine, or in Granville Island. Highly recommended!

I had the matcha Snowy Ice with mango star, passion fruit specialty jelly and lychee popping pearls and grass jelly. The snowy ice looked very good but in reality it was just okay. I hope to come back and try the phở or rice.

they are closed Sunday’s. Ignore the 1−9pm opening Unilocal advertises. I’ll update this review once I’ve tried their stuff. Hard to review without trying. Lol

I just had lunch here. The chicken vermicelli is quite good, as was the spring roll. The only thing that wasn’t great was the service. There are two servers. They were quick to greet and seat us. However they they stayed up front and we saw them only when they came back to take our order, and then bring food. They were out of earshot to call over without shouting and the restaurants layout means you can’t make we contact. I would have liked more tea or water but never had the opportunity to ask.

I came here for the shaved ice cream which seems to be the new dessert trend this week. Generous on the fruit, decently priced and plated well. I actually had two and made it a personal meal. Who says that you can’t have dessert for lunch. Customer service was decent. Place is small but accommodating.

This little place tucked away in the massive Arthur Erickson Waterfall Building serves delicious, fresh and affordable Phở and other Vietnamese dishes at very affordable prices. We came late on a Friday night and were quickly given a seat near the back. It’s cozy, and on a cold night, our glasses fogged up with the steam from the Phở broth. There are tables at the front and back, in a narrow space that holds maybe 30 diners. I started with a shrimp salad roll(Goi Cuon), which we had cut in half to share. It was a decent rendition, with medium-sized shrimp, a slice of pork, vermicelli and iceberg lettuce. No mint or coriander leaves(too bad), but it was very fresh, served with a nice, sweet dipping sauce with crushed peanuts. It went down fast. My rare beef and meatball Phở was excellent. Good broth and meat, plenty of noodles, and they serve super-fresh bean sprouts, Thai basil, a small wedge of lime and a small but fiery Bird’s eye chile. My partner had a huge portion of grilled pork chop on vermicelli with nuoc cham dipping sauce and it was as good as any I’ve had, including in Ho Chi Minh City. Service was perfect — not too slow, not too fast. The bill came into just about $ 20, which is frankly ridiculous for the portions and quality. I’ve paid half again as much and been satisfied on both counts at other places. I’m almost afraid to say good Heart Stock is, because then it will get really crowded, and I won’t be able to get such good service any more,. OK, honestly, you won’t find a nicer and more comfortable place to have Phở, Banh Mi sandwiches, Chicken or Pork over vermicelli or rice and Goi Cuon(shrimp salad roll). If you are in the Granville Island area and stop by the Waterfall building, they are worth the trip, and then some.

Really nice owner and servers, delicious broth for beef ball and noodle soup, fresh greens, nice bubble tea… and great price! I’ve been here 3 times in one week, because I appreciate the smiles and kind service, non-pretentious atmosphere and delightful food. Give them a couple of tries, you might love it!

Excellent beef phở here. I’ve been here a couple times in the last month and here is why; Rice noodles! The phở is not salty compared to other places I have tried. NICE portions and a reasonable price of $ 8.00 for a large bowl. This diner, might be off the beaten path for some, but an excellent lunch spot if you are feeling a bit hung over from the weekend or near Granville Island and need a nice big bowl of soup!

First thing you notice when you walk in is the nice aroma of the broth, the ambiance is clean and comfortable which is a nice surprise for Vietnamese food. Service is also friendly and attentive which is also a bit of anomaly when it comes to Viet restaurants in Vancouver. The phở has a light broth which is good because you don’t find yourself scrounging for water and constantly asking for refills, I will say the brisket is cut a little thick for my liking. Also tried the spring roll, tasty filling but the skin is not as crispy as some others I’ve tried, perhaps the oil is not hot enough. The grilled chicken on rice was very juicy and hot but the pork is on the tougher side, would recommend a different option than grilled pork if you’re getting the rice/vermicelli. Couldn’t leave without trying their shaved ice which is to die for and is what will keep me coming back. I got the mango shaved ice w/condensed milk, my favourite topping were the mango popping pearls. The condensed milk is a little sweet with the mango shaved ice but with something like the matcha flavour it should be perfect. The portion for the money is definitely enough for 3 – 4 people to share but do allow time to prepare this dessert. The prices are good for this neighbourhood as there aren’t too many options for this kind of food in the neighbourhood. $ 8 for a large bowl of phở is more than reasonable. There’s also no cell reception for Rogers/Fido customers haha but that may be viewed as a plus so your friends aren’t always staring at their phones. I will come back to try their drinks and subs for sure.

Finally got to try this place! Brought a friend with me as well! I couldn’t decide on what to order so I just ordered a bunch. –spring roll: better than expected! Had a tasty meat filling –shrimp salad roll: soooooo fresh, the outside shell was so soft and moist! –chicken wings: I’m a huge fan of wings and this place definitely had one of the most tasty wings! Crispy outside and tender inside. And the sauce topped it off! –phở: very light broth compared to other phở places but still flavorful. The bean sprouts and basil garnish were also extremely fresh –sub: I ordered the house special, 3 kinds of cold cut. So delicious. The bread was really fresh and the special sauce on the bread made everything come together. Here is the kicker, the waiter asked us if we wanted spicy and of course we said yes(we are both huge fans of spice). The spicyness is definitely not for casual spicy lovers. It will burnnnn. So I only recommend spicy if u have a high tolerance of hot food. But nonetheless it was delicioussss –finally, had to top off our meal with a bowl of shaved ice. We ordered the guava flavoured shaved ice with strawberry, grass jelly and aloe toppings. The shaved ice was so fine and fluffy! The guava flavour was a little over powering but the fresh strawberries went well with it. We agreed that the sub and chicken wings were the winners for us! Definitely going back again:) oh ya and not to mention the exceptional service! Must go!!!

solid 3.5 simply for their dine-in special: $ 6.5 for their Sub and ice coffee! granted the coffee was just average, way too much condensed milk. but the House special sub was yummy, lots of mayo housemade sauce, and thick with lots of ham, radish, carrots… tough spot, the 3rd restaurant in as many years lol. nice and clean.

Horrible service! We drove all the way from Seattle to make it 30 minutes before they closed. According to their advertised hours, they were supposed to close at 10 and we arrived at 9:30pm. We were greeted by a locked door and an employee came out and said they were closing early for the night with no further explanation. We then gave it another shot and arrived the following morning, 1 hour after their posted opening time and was again met by a closed restaurant. How disappointing to make an attempt twice! I wish they would honor their hours so we wouldn’t have wasted our time and resources while on holiday. We do not recommend. There are plenty of other places that serve the same type of menu at other places around the greater Vancouver area who are respectful of your time.

Ordered large beef brisket phở $ 8. It was OK my review on with of beef used may be a bit biased as I prefer them really lean and chunkier. Skinny strips was used with fatty pieces still attached. Considering it’s just outside Granville Island very reasonably prices. I might try their bubble tea next time.

Finally! A decent place for lunch in the Armoury District. I have worked in this area for nearly ten years and there are very very few places to grab an affordable lunch around here. Several cafes have opened in the past, along 1st Avenue and along the side streets between Fir and Burrard, but they don’t seem to last. And I can’t stand paying $ 9-$ 10 for a simple sandwich at Patisserie Lebeau or Chocolate Arts. Heart Stock is amazing. They have salad rolls, phở, and banh mi at an affordable price, and the family that operates this small eatery in the Waterfall Building is hip and friendly. I’m already a regular, and they have only been open for three weeks!

I’ll begin by admitting that generally speaking, I am not a fan of Vietnamese food. Being a very specific eater(I’m not picky — just specific) I can at times also be difficult to please. This however, I liked. I came across Heart Stock, decided to try it on a whim and ordered noodles and chicken wings. So good. I especially appreciate how clear the broth is. It doesn’t leave you with that cloying savoury after taste(MSG) that you get after eating at other Vietnamese noodle houses. Go give it a try — the difference is very evident. Portion size seems to be larger than the usual places as well. The chicken wings were great and while I’ve never really used sweet thai chili sauce before but I found myself coating the entire wing in the dish of sauce that the wings came with. Awesome combination. My only regret was that I didn’t have enough room to order one of the frozen desserts. Luckily summer weather is now upon us and I can’t wait to go back again and try one(or all. Make that definitely all) soon. This place is within walking distance from Granville Island and is a great option for food especially if you’re wanting to escape from the large and noisy crowds that Granville Island seems to never be without

I went to Heart Stock for the first time today, and I was pretty disappointed. My bubble tea was a delight, so I’ll definitely be back for tea, but my Banh Mi and ice coffee were both a disappointment. The coffee was weak and though I ordered a ‘shredded pork’ sandwich, there was not a shred of shredded pork to be seen. The bread for the sandwich was fresh, but the flavours were disappointing. Definitely wouldn’t order either again.

Bubble tea in a mason jar, granville island in the summer, a hot bowl of health concious phở, what more could you ask for. Great sub lunch combo if you are on the go. Great new restaurant that just opened up. I want to try all of the different appies and bubble tea. Will come back.
