Just discovered this place when I was back in Vancouver for break and oh my god, it is a gem. If you’re looking for some quick Asian food, look no further. This place reminds me of Shophouse(the Asian Chipotle). Friendly service, great food. I got a veggie rice bowl with calamansi tea and it reminded me of my days in Singapore.

So yummy and healthy! Brown rice green curry and shrimp is my fave so far. You can switch it up in so many ways too

The food there is great! Considering all the overpriced food there is Fresh Bowls prices are really good. I first stumbled upon it with my friends while looking for a good place to eat lunch. All the other places seemed to be too busy and everyone was hungry! That’s when we walked past fresh bowl. It was decorated so nicely and appealing! Inside wasn’t noisy like all the other places and was perfect to just have a nice conversation.(very spacious) What made me want to eat there was that I could customize it to my liking! You’re in total control of your food. You get to pick the type of noodles, rice, etc. Everything can be tailored! The food there is great quality, all fresh especially for the price! The service is quite great too.

The fact I can choose my own bowl fascinates me. I chose the stir fry. Delicious. I chose the shrimp with it. Excellent choice. I do hope they expand to Palo Alto, as I would absolutely visit. Much variety and good food for not too expensive price.

Fresh Bowl is a must for the out of town visitor. While in Gastown, we were looking for a clean, fresh and affordable lunch, and Fresh Bowl was 3 for 3. Excellent concept where you can create a bowl of rice, noodles or salad with any protein and sauce. I had a chicken noodle soup(Noodles, broth, Chicken, vegetables and bean sprouts) and it was plenty. Prices were reasonable and service was excellent. Highly recommend the Ice Tea’s too!!! i got to taste them all(Hibiscus, Black Tea and Thai Iced Tea) as my party order one of each, don’t forget to ask for a cup of ice, to give it the perfect chill. Thank you Fresh Bowl!

Most lunch spots in Gastown are way overpriced. You can spend less than $ 10/person at Fresh Bowl and get a quality meal. The fresh vegetables and the free range chicken I had were delicious. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

When this place first opened I went there so the time, love the laksa, me goreng and another beef curry dish… So good and fresh like its namesake. I think the prices are reasonable for the size, it’d be even better if sll menu items stay under $ 10. Especially at lunch. The atmosphere is cafeteria style but clean enough. It’s my go to place when feeling lazy to cook and want dome Malaysian or Singaporean food. Some fishes are a little bland and needs more kick though. I considered leaving just an emoticon sad face for this review, as that’s the expression I made both times I ate there. A couple co-workers LOVE this place, and I’d heard the mee goreng was good. Unfortunately, it seems that they’ve changed their menu and instead of a la carte dishes, it’s now a choose-your-own-adventure bowl situation. With mee goreng no longer an option, the counter staff suggested pad thai. Let me preface this by saying — I am not one of those jerks who craps on about ‘authenticity.’ I am fine with fusion food! I have had tasty pad thai at street carts in Bangkok and chain restaurants in California alike. I don’t care if it’s ‘real,’ I care if it tastes good. This, sadly, failed on both accounts. Frozen-tasting veggies, bland pad thai sauce — I had to dump sriracha on it to make it edible. I mentioned my bad experience to a co-worker who agreed that the bowls are iffy, but the salads are where it’s at. Ok, I like a good salad. So I tried again. The temple salad — with mango and coconut bacon — sounded interesting. It was not. 90% lettuce; 7% tiny bits of mango, 3% coconut bacon… barely salvaged by a watery, bland dressing(that supposedly had tahini in it but tasted primarily like sugar water). Fool me once and all that. I will not be back; there are much better options in the neighbourhood.

If you want takeout noodles in the Gastown area, come here. Nothing’s better than the mee goreng. It is unbelievably fresh yet packed full of amazing flavour and depth. There is clearly a great amount of thought into the combination of textures and tastes. The best deal for a bowl of noodles around!
