Gee I’ve always liked Fraserview Golf Course. It has been around since I first started playing golf! 25 years later it’s still around! I played my first round of golf here! To me this course is the Vieille dame(Grand Old Lady) of the Van City golf scene. I’ll bet ya 75 percent of people who play golf in Van played their first game at Fraserview Golf Course! I’ve only done it once but it’s cool to sit in the patio overlooking the 18th hole with a cold drink, and watch people duff their approach shots! Haha The course itself was in good condition! Tough pin placements and gutless putting from yours truly lead to a frustrating day! We played team skins. Playing golf for money always adds to the stress level! Those easy 2 foot putts suddenly look like tough 4 feet putts! I shot 103! But won in the skins game and collected my $ 5.00! Haha!

My Uncle and I come here very often as it is close to my home within reason. This place is good for driving range practice. The balls are priced very reasonably and the service has always been very top notch. Not the most desirable ranges in the city, however would rather go somewhere near than far. Best time to go is Saturday before 9:00 am. The grooming of the course itself is hit and miss.

This is a good choice for golf in Vancouver. Lots of old growth trees, a bit of variety with sand, water and elevation(I usually golf in Richmond so I love the change from a flat course), and very easy to get to. That said, I felt that the course could have been groomed a bit better today. Some fairways were OK but some really needed the grass cut last week. What made matters more challenging was the fact that temporary greens were in play, as the main greens were being re-seeded. Sure can’t complain about the price: $ 45 per person for green fees AND a cart! Clubhouse staff were fine, but not overly friendly. Didn’t stay for lunch or use the driving range, so can’t comment on those.

4 stars in the winter and 3 in the summer for this classic Westcoast layout. Open since 1934, Fraserview is a getaway from the rest of the city. Massive stands of dense forest offer unexpected seclusion. In the winter, this is the dryest course with the best drainage in the region and you can’t beat the $ 35 price to walk during prime time for a playable, traditional layout with great winter conditions. Summer is a different story. This course gets nearly 70,000 rounds per year and although the grounds staff does a commendable job, the wear and tear is undeniable especially during the summers. Unfortunately, you will pay $ 90 with a cart during prime times for a heavily trafficked course and unbearably slow municipal pace-of-play. This is truly unreasonable and you can find much better layouts and course conditions at a fraction of the price within an hours drive.

This is the busiest of the three municipal courses in Vancouver. It’s busy because Langara is the third choice, McCleery is the toughest and not as nice, and this has the nicest tree lined fairways and is challenging enough. Anytime any of my friends get a tee time here, I’m in if I can make it.

Good game? Well, slightly below average food. Pricey for a walk up food bar. Course beautiful for the price. Greens were fast and looked great. Fair ways and first second cuts well defined. Tee off at 9:12 finish at 2:08WOW!!! that was a long time… Course was definitely 4 stars but the cost of food and mostly the time spent brought the score down. A must golf for anyone who considers themselves a «Vancouver Golfer» Stats tell me this is the busiest Public(Semi-Private??) Course in Canada. Take it for what it is, go on a nice day so its worth it.

I played this course on a Wednesday in August 2009. Nice mature course on the Southwest side of Vancouver. Small warm up driving range with mats. Course maintenance was very good. The course was busy so as a single I joined 3 other players. I paid $ 45 Canadian. My favorite hole… par 5 — 18th. Depending on how far you drive, either your second or third shot is over water to a large green guarded by mature trees on each side. Only complaint, I did not see a view of the Fraser River from any hole on the course! So why is it named Fraserview?
