Came here on a Sunday evening with a party of 9. We had called in advanced to book reservations and got a pretty good table right by the door and near the bar. Parking took a while to figure out cause all the side streets were full, so we ended up parking across the street around the park and walking over. Heads up if you’re new to the area! This was our first time here, and a couple of our friends had been meaning to visit for a while, so we’re very happy that it met our expectations! We all ordered a mix of different beverages from sangria, beer, virgin margaritas to straight up whisky. Two of our friends were big whisky drinkers and they were very impressed by the variety of whisky they had available. For food, we ordered a bunch of appetizers: whiskey corn fritters, dead flowers flatbread, yam fries, and some sort of beet dish that has replaced the hummus dish on the websites menu(the website is outdated). Everything was delicious and we started feeling full even before the food arrived. For our mains, we ordered: the vegetarian quesadilla(we asked for the chicken one but substituted with mushroom since it’s also no longer on the menu), the veggie burger, mac & cheese, Louisiana jambalaya and I’m fairly certain the other guys got the chicken burger??? Can’t remember for certain, I was beginning to enter food coma stage. All the all, everyone really enjoyed their food. The service here was wonderful; our server touched base with us just enough times and snuck in every so often to help refill our water. Another awesome thing about this place: they actually allow for you to bring a cake in, so if you’re looking for a place to celebrate someone’s birthday, I would highly recommend! Would definitely come back again!

First time here and definitely not the last! Had a late afternoon brunch today w/sister and FWK surely did not disappoint! Should be 4.5 stars for this restaurant. We were very lucky to find parking on the street close by and that’s why I didn’t give 5 stars. Parking anywhere on Commercial Dr has always been a pain. Ordered the fried chicken & southern french toast. I always stuck to the tried and true(eggs, ham, potato, toast) but this entrée intrigued me and decided to give it a try. Oh, so good! Can’t go wrong ordering this, esp I loved the free range fried egg on top of the french toast. The two fried chicken pieces were moist(delish!) and so much french toast I still couldn’t finish my entrée, even after sharing some of the chicken & french toast pieces. Sister had the albacore tuna eggs benny. Enjoyed it esp since the egg was cooked exactly to her liking, soft-medium & not runny, but still preferred the smoked salmon eggs benny she had the last time, as she is a smoked salmon fan. The fried potato slices that came w/the meal were very flavourful. The owners said they were going to put whiskey cured salmon eggs benny on the menu coming soon. Wow! Service, food & prices were amazing! Server, Courtney came by several times to the table to make sure we had everything we needed. That’s one thing I always note in a restaurant how much attention a server pays to their customers. Courtney was very good. Mimosas we ordered were delicious. I want to go back just to try their other drinks too, as long as I’m not driving! For the quality & quantity of food received, the prices are fantastic. Shhh don’t tell the owners! LOL.

Fets rules! Best brunch on commercial drive! They have great seating options, including a patio overlooking the park. But it’s the food that keeps me coming back. Most consistently awesome brunch — excellent quality, fair prices and very good selection, including a weekly feature. I would recommend the Portuguese Omlete, the breakfast enchilada, or «the Hangover. »

This is our regular breakfast place on the Drive. The staff is friendly and the food is good. They have a nice little patio on the street for some amazing people-watching. They also have delicious pancakes and all the usual breakfast items.

For a whiskey bar they make a great vodka martini. Make use of happy hour they’ve got some good whisky’ on there. This is a locally owned establishment and they are always on the floor during rush times and I appreciate seeing the owners get some sweat equity in there. Food is great just wish they had a few more gluten free options. I’m coming back for the martini.

got the whisky pickles as an appy and I personally didn’t enjoy them but to each their own, I got the catch of the day which was halibut and the other platter was the cajun chicken linguine; my halibut was marvellous! the fish literally slid off my fork and was cooked perfectly! the bed of barley with veggies imo did not go well with the halibut — they do not have a good selection for vegan or gluten free folks so 3 stars it is!

Visited this spot over the holidays, and it was great! So many whiskeys to choose from, a connoisseur and novice would enjoy… Lots of whiskey themed cocktails, appetizers, and entrees to try as well as menu favorites. Fun to peruse the whiskey tasting notes booklet(a couple of inches thick)! Service was good, although got a few funny looks from waitstaff, maybe for bringing a two year old(called ahead and was told it was child friendly)… Or maybe it was my imagination. Would definitely go back, perhaps sans toddler!

Rare Gem. The selection of whisky at Fets is truly amazing. It’s really hard to find a bar focused only on whisky. Luckily, Fets is up to the task. Some of the rarest whiskies are available here(in exchange for a pretty penny). I only got a chance to try the poached pear salad and it was phenomenal. I’d definitely be coming back

This place is awesome. We were late for our reservation but they accommodated us happily on a busy Friday night. Our waitress was kind and helpful and recommended her favourite drinks. Lovely, properly-made whiskey sour. The poutine was some of the best I have had, with mind-blowing chicken gravy that is made in-house with whiskey. I loved this gravy so much I ordered more to pour over my french fries with my entrée and it came in a wonderful little personal-sized gravy boat! I will be back!

We went on a Sunday night, so there was little to nobody there. My girlfriend got a bellini and she said it was like a 3⁄5. I got some maple bacon drink and it was fantastic. Take the average and you get 4. Kind of pricey, but whatever, why not eh?

Found this place while in Vancouver. It’s on a lively street with a few other bars and restaurants, nice patio with heaters and a view of Grouse Mountain to the north. Whiskey selection is great and the focus of this bar — including a range of whiskeys straight from the cask. Food seems more of an afterthought to increase foot traffic. I’d definitely visit again for the whiskey.

I’ve been to Fets 4 times now. Just there yesterday after wanting to go to St Augies and leaving after 15 minutes of no drinks in mouth(see other review). I love Fets, food is amazing, big book of booze is the best thing ever and they have bourbon from everywhere that I’ll either never be able to find or afford. With places like Fets I’m hesitant to review as I like to keep it all to myself. Last night it was dead maybe 4 parties there. It was awesome. I’m sure they’d like more business so go to fets and enjoy… just not when I’m there.

Went here on a whim because the restaurant we wanted to eat at was full. My friend got kangaroo which was a trip, very similar to beef but with a better taste, not gamey at all. I got the fish and chips and although the fish was awesome, the«tartar sauce» was this weird mustard and vinegar based thin liquid. The coleslaw was just shredded cabbage, no dressing… Maybe they just forgot the tartar sauce. Also if you sit on the patio, you get to deal with cigarette smoke from people passing by or from people taking a smoke break during their meal. Very extensive whiskey menu.

A small bar with big flavours — Come here for whisky’s. I came here for a bachelor party. Staff and owners were friendly and knowledgeable of their booze. The owners in particular, are very passionate about their craft. This bar is the only one in Vancouver, at the time of writing, partners with the Scotch Whisky Society(per society website). This translates to dozens of different scotch whisky’s to choose from, and not just the brand name ones. If you step away from brand names and go by flavour alone, the menu(book) has flavour profiles which help you decide your drink. Want something peppery or marshmellowy? I’m sure there’s a whisky for that. Other drinks are available. This place isn’t as appealing if whisky’s aren’t your thing. Luckily the food is pretty solid. Appetiser veggie fritters weren’t a bad start. However I think the pickled items need a bit of work. It just seemed a bit too sour for me. The ribs are about $ 24 and comes with potato and seasonal vegetables. They were tender and flavourful. I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce, but it was still pretty good. Some final thoughts: Bring money(multiple drinks can get costly). Overall I think this a great business and would return.

Third time here! They market themselves as the largest whiskey choice in Vancouver and they certainly don’t disappoint with the selection. The whiskey choice here is accompanied by a description. The choices vary from not peaty, peaty to very peaty. If you like whiskey, this place won’t disappoint you. For the food, I’ve had the corn fritters, the Kentucky chicken burger and the Louisiana chicken burger — not all in one go. My favorite has been the Kentucky burger because the chicken is moist even though it’s fried and has a nice crunch. The Louisiana is spicy and if you are in the mood, will leave your mouth with a nice sting. Overall, this is a great summer joint and has that southern flavour that Vancouver lacks. Service is prompt and if you are lucky, the owner will come and sit and chat with you about whiskey.

Went to this joint tonight with a group of 22 people in our party. I had booked it 3 weeks in advance as a wedding reunion party. At first I was disappointed that some of our tables weren’t ready at 8pm as I had requested. However, we had a few people show up late, so by 8:30, we were alone in the back area as promised. Their whiskey selection is beyond impressive. I had a whiskey connoisseur with me from Kentucky, and even he was impressed. They had 630+ varieties. We were quite pleased with the choices. Our waitress’ recommendations, and the quality of the drinks. I wish they came a bit faster, but when you have a large group delays are to be expected. Onto the food. For our appetizer, I shared a poutine with some friends. It was made with whiskey chicken gravy! For the meal I had the Cajun chicken linguine dish. OMG! I was pleasantly surprised. I haven’t gotten that good of a pasta dishes in some of the 5 star italian restaurants I’ve been to. I tried the jambalaya as well, it was very rich. All in all, I was pleased with the experience and will return. Had it not been for the issue with the tables initially or the satisfactory service, they would have gotten a 5⁄5 from me.

I was in last week and tried the medium rare burger, and posted that I was a fan. It seemed to stir a bit of controversy, so I went back to confirm it wasn’t a fluke. The second time was as good as the first. A medium rare, organic burger, delicious. You can’t say anything else :)

Really nice chill place for drinks. Parking is available along Commercial, as well as on the side streets. I remember this place was once a sports bar(much like Boston Pizza), but they’ve pulled the Cactus Club treatment and moved upscale. Thankfully their prices are still somewhat reasonable. The interior is nice with all the glowing red lights, and wood décor. It looks like they’re trying to position themselves as a whiskey kitchen. Not sure what that means exactly on the food side of things, but I did see the word«whiskey» on certain items. Staff were friendly and professional. Most of the tables are smaller, so unless you’re going for standing room, groups of 4 – 8 are best. The night we were here, a pub crawl group(30 – 40) suddenly showed up, but this establishment took it in stride. We never felt cramped. The Blood & Sand(Saturday special, $ 6) I had was actually pretty good, with the cherry liquor keeping things sweet, but not too sweet(common mistake with many drinks). I would recommend this one. As for the food, we had some appies. Onion rings — not sure how they managed to deep fry them so perfectly, but the batter was ridiculously consistent. Spicy cheese sauce went quite well. Whiskey corn fritter — piping hot on the insides. Couldn’t really taste the whiskey, but the batter was great. Excellent texture, thanks to the corn. I will definitely be back.
