We often like to stop at Cobs in the morning for some freshly baked goods. We have a rotation of goods we like to order, which include the ham and cheese/spinach and feta croissant, pesto scroll, jalapeño twist and the chocolate croissant. All delicious! Kerrisdale is always busy so parking can be hard to find so we usually park on a side street by the TD bank.

My love of Cobs is a painful one. Like, literally. I’m not supposed to eat gluten but cobs is my weakness and makes me crumble. My love of Cobs spreads oceans… as is, when I was in New Zealand I found«Baker’s Delight,» which is the same company, with the same foods, and same everything, just a different name. But really, can you blame me? When I get off the bus in the morning and am delivered to the storefront, with the wafting smell of fresh baking bread, sumptuous garlic and herbs when their pesto scrolls are baking, and that subtle sweetness in the air when their scones have just come out hot and are being iced? See?! I have a problem. My favourite things that I should not eat but do anyway? Pesto Cheese Scrolls, Spinach & Feta Croissants(guh), Cape Seed Bread(with cream cheese & cucumber or lox?! outta this world.), Banana Chocolate Chip Scones apple & walnut log(for teatime, of course) cheese, herb and garlic mini focaccia. So, though I do not eat wheat, I eat Cobs. That’s not the same thing, right?

HAVEAGAIN: the apricot raisin bread was really delicious, but it should have more apricot pieces and fewer raisins.

I heart Cobs. and I’ll tell you why… *the baking is always super fresh *the selection of breads and baked yummyness is awesome *the service is usually pretty good.prompt.helpful *they slice your bread for you. which I love ’cause I never slice bread evenly *and mostly ’cause I’m a huge carb whore and they meet all my carby expectations…
