Trendy atmosphere with tasty food. Very affordable menu that offers a variety of meat and veggie dishes. I have been here a few times now and notice that sometimes the food is awesome with flavor and juicy meats but other times the food is dry and lacking flavor, I guess it depends on the cooks that day? I do however continue to dine here and recommend if your in the area.

A friend of mine loves this place, so with him and another friend over the holidays we got take out. It was really good, though my dish on that order was not the most ‘ambitious’. I ordered take-out again 2 nights ago as I can’t walk due to injury and it was still very good. I got the«Chelo Kebab Bahktiari» which is their most expensive«Main». It was great; a skewer of chicken and one of AAA Alberta beef. All very tasty. However, they didn’t provide salad as was shown in the picture. I think that might be a ‘take out’ thing. They also charged a delivery fee which they didn’t tell me about on the phone, but granted, I didn’t ask either. Delivery was fast and I could pay CC at the door. Ordering by phone was fast and courteous despite it being very loud in the restaurant. I suspect the food is not really the best for delivery or pick-up. I’m eager to go to the restaurant with a group and share some plates, especially their different soups and stews.

Excellent Mediterranean food. We were visiting Vancouver on the 1st day of the year and were having trouble finding a place to eat due to many closures on the 1st of the year. I’ve read good things about this place before and with my love for Persian food decided to dine here. My friends were skeptical about enjoying Persian dishes(having never tried the delicious food) but left the restaurant loving Persian cuisine! And of course I got all the credit for suggesting such a good restaurant. The waiters were friendly, the service was excellent and the food such ridiculously delicious! The portions good sized and super cheap! Everyone in the party of 6 left full, happy and excited to be back again the next time we’re in Vancouver. Thanks guys!

Came here on recommendation. Koobideh is excellent, lamb shislik was good too(not much seasoning but that might be intentional not sure). Waiter was attentive though made a few errors like forgetting to ask whether we want half rice and half salad. We didn’t realize that we had a choice until we saw him asking other people. Ended up with a ginormous amount of rice. Koobideh was excellent anyway.

Just don’t come here. The food isn’t good at all. At least if you want to try a delicious Persian food don’t come here. The location and stuff are really good but food a big negative point.

Such delicious kabab! This is a much more convenient location, if you’re downtown(than say, the North Vancouver location)…and the servers are so friendly. Their food has always been recommended by Persian friends of ours, and we only wish we had this sort of restaurant in Seattle!

Heady, heavy and incredibly bland. Everything tasted low quality and packaged. Never going back. Their phone service was also awful(kept me on hold for 15 mins and never came back) so we hung up. The food looked interesting so we decided to give it a shot despite the awful service. We were served packaged pita bread with a yellow onion wrapped in Saran Wrap. Absolutely awful

The koobideh was dry and lacking flavour. Also, the portion was smaller than what I’m used to from the north van location. Only half of a grilled tomato is served here when you get a full one in north van. As for the dolmades, it’s ice cold from here while they are warm in north van. In short, if you’re looking for good value and quality, head to the North Vancouver location. I promise you will not be disappointed

I came here for a B-day party for a fellow Elite Unilocaler and meet up group buddies. It was a large party of 23 consisting of Unilocalers and various meet up groups. The place is oddly spaced and somewhat small but they made it work for 23 people. Not everyone was able to sit together, however, we still managed within distance so that everyone could socialize and be a part of the conversation. Customer service was excellent. They went above and beyond for our party. The portions are huge for the price. Carb overload, however, plenty for left overs. The music was a bit loud, therefore, there were moments in which I was struggling to converse with new friends. Be careful. The waitress will offer if you want half rice and half salad instead of a full plate of rice, however, she will fail to mention that there is a $ 1 substitution charge. This was a bit weak. My stew was okay, a little bland in flavor. Perhaps a little more salt? Rice was bland and the dressing on the salad wasn’t a lot. Persian tea was interesting. I liked the sugar cubes which resembled powdered sugar cubes vs. the standard grainy cubes were all accustomed to consuming with tea. Of course the saffron rose water ice cream was amazing. I had that as a starter. They ran out of Cream Brule at 7 pm on a Saturday which was odd.

It’s busy and with good reason: Price for portion is really good. In some ways, Cazba is like Chinese take-out noodles. You get some toppings on a ton of noodles. Except here, it’s rice. For $ 12 or so you can be stuffed. Not much of a patio in terms of view, but you can sit outside in an enclosed space if you like, with reasonable privacy from pedestrians. Inside it’s somewhat dim and OK. Nothing too special except for some interesting statuary and lamps, but they really didn’t pretty up the space so much. Plus, there’s so much server and diner traffic there’s not that much they can do. Fesenjoon($ 11.99 +$ 1 for half garden salad /half rice) Stew made with Pomegranate, Walnuts and Chicken Served with Basmati Rice; vegetarian option(no chicken) possible at no extra charge — I went for the vegetarian option here. — Very sweet stew! Quite delicious though so sweet you do really want to temper it by mixing it into your rice. Even so, I really only needed less than half the stew provided as there was so much rice. — The menu indicates it costs $ 1 for a substitution. The server offered to change half or all the rice to salad, but did not mention price; I decided to go with it, and sure enough, it cost $ 1. Technically not a secret charge, but it would have been nice if she mentioned it. – Even though the substitution costs $ 1, rice is heavier than salad, so I would seriously consider it, as even just the half portion of rice remaining made for a very filling meal. Some people who tried some of my stew mentioned the walnut, but it didn’t come through for me. Tahdeeg($ 6.99 Large) Crispy Rice served with your choice of Ghormeh Sabzi Stew or Gheymeh Stew; half-and-half of the stew is possible at no extra charge — Sounded interesting, but in the end… not so much. Neither stew really made a difference for me. — Crispy rice part looks like the slightly burnt stuff at the bottom of your rice booker. — Large portion can be a light to medium meal all on its own. Doogh($ 1.75 glass) Yogurt and water with mint, salt, and pepper. Bottled version may be carbonated. — Reminded me of the ayran I had at Anatolia Express but not as salty/sour. — Strangely, it grows on you though it might initially be horrible. — There’s mint? Pepper? Persian Tea($?) — Apparently they do not have barley sugar, which the Persians in our group insisted was necessary for proper Persian Tea. They don’t take reservations, but if you have a large group you can arrive early and ask for them to accommodate you. What they will probably do is start blocking off sections where they will seat people last, so your party can sit together. If they run out of other seating, they’ll have to take unused tables and seats from«your section» if all your guests haven’t arrived. We had a large party and a thankfully patient server. With over 20 people, some water requests got lost, but I think otherwise things went fairly smoothly. Large-group auto gratuity was only the standard 15% instead of the more common 18%.

Decent place. I was craving ethnic food and this was right by me. I ordered the koobideh entrée. I asked for no grilled tomato but it would have come with it. Also $ 1 more if you want half salad and half rice. I don’t think that was written on the menu. The service was good. Weather was wonderful so I sat outside and people watched. The price was reasonable so I am a happy customer. I was happy to see ethnic food options outside of the strict heart of downtown.

Not the greatest quality but hey what do you expect at $ 6.99 for kobideh and $ 8.99 jujeh. I’ve obviously had better persian food(duh I am persian) but for the price you are paying its great food. I would say its Iranian Macdonalds for us. I’d go back.

Staff were lovely and attentive. $ 13 pitchers of beer! I had the lamb shank with half rice/half Greek salad and still didn’t finish the rice — it was a lot of food! My boyfriend had the chicken and ground beef skewers which I also tried and were also very tasty. I was confused by the 3 pieces of pita bread and ¼ raw onion in glad wrap I was given after we sat down… but we ordered the cucumber and yoghurt and ate that with the bread — it was nice, I wish it was garlicky though. Will definitely go back. I live just across the road and regret not trying it sooner.

3.5 stars I came here in a group of six for lunch. We didn’t make a reservation but was happy to find out the restaurant was not terribly busy and can easily put together a table for us. Service was prompt and polite. We were offered water and menu immediately after we sat down. My colleagues who have been here highly recommended Vaziri(1 chicken skewer, 1 ground beef skewer) but they also suggested modifying the order to have half salad and half basmati rice, which I did. The main came with a grilled tomato and pickled pepper. We didn’t wait very long for our food to arrive but while we waited we were nibbling on complementary pita bread(I think?) and raw white onions. Someone ordered a dish of hummus to share and that was one of the best hummus I’ve ever had. The consistency was just right. It was garlic-y but not salty. It was full of flavor. When our food arrived simultaneously. There seemed to be a little confusion with the orders but it was soon resolved. My chicken skewer was very tender and juicy, like what my colleagues promised. The ground beef was cooked well. I truly enjoyed the fact my food wasn’t salty but I honestly would have liked more spices in my food. The flavors seemed very mild. The grilled meats had good char though. I think the highlight was the basmati rice. I don’t know why I enjoyed it so much, probably because it’s not dry; at the same time, it wasn’t mushy either. The portion was so large and generous I had to pack the rest home. When I say«the rest», I mean«half». Could there be room for improvement? Yes. Having said that there’s nothing wrong with the food — just light in seasoning and flavor. The carbohydrates and proteins were cooked right. This is a bang for your buck type of restaurant. Service was speedy. There isn’t much to complain about. I was nibbling a little bit of the leftovers which had gone cold. The food still tasted good. The meats were still juicy. Yes, I would come back.

After a day of drinks and dancing up a storm, my friends and I needed something to eat to keep ourselves from falling face down on the cement. Someone suggested Cazba and thus we ended up there. Cazba offered an extensive list of Persian food that it was difficult to choose. This is bad since I cannot remember the name of the dish of what I ate there. However, I know it was a lamb shank and it was a damn good lamb shank. It was served with a small salad and rice. Yes, it is bad to not remember what I ate, but I can tell you that it was good. The service here was good. Our server was attentive to your needs and checked-up on our party as we ate and discussed about evening plans. The prices here are reasonable that you will not break your wallet. There is inside and outside seating. Sit outside if you want to people watch and observe what is going on Davies Street. Sit inside for a more intimate experience. If you sit next to a window, you can also observe what is going on Davies Street as well as the diners who are eating outside. Can you say«gossip»!! All-in-all, Cazba was a good choice for that day.
